  1. I went to 'My Kaspersky' and it listed an update under my pc. I clicked on it and it installed without a problem. One non related question, does Safe Money work in Microsoft Edge yet? If so, how to set it up.
  2. Hi Berny. Wouldn't Kaspersky let me know to upgrade to KiS 2019? When you say clean install, do you mean to remove 2018 then install 2019?
  3. When I click on Privacy Protection in main screen, KIS stops responding. A blue wheel just spins and spins. I have to exit KIS to get out of it and restart program. I'm running KIS 18.0.0.405(j) and W10 v1803 Build 17134.286. Any suggestions?
  4. thanks plb4333, I'll keep it on for now. But there is a reason I turned it off. I just can't remember.
  5. Does Windows Defender Smart Screen have to be on if I have KIS 18? I turned it off for some reason. It's been so long ago I can't remember why. But now I have a warning that my computer's at risk, please turn on Smart Screen. Is it necessary or does KIS 18 handle this? Any input would be appreciated.
  6. It seems to have been taken care of. I think I downloaded a patch or something. Not sure but I'm having no problems with PayPal within any browser. But thanks to everyone for the input.
  7. thx dh. I followed instructions from the post but I had to change KIS ver to 18.0.0. It seems to be working fine.
  8. Is there a manual way to run a rootkit scan? This morning, my system started a rootkit scan but about 15 minutes in it canceled itself. Should I be concerned? I am running KIS2018.
  9. How is Kaspersky Secure Connection different from Safe Money's protected browser?
  10. thank you xzz123. As I said in my earlier post, I have ie11 and it works fine. When I open safe money from desktop, it opens the selected item in ie11. But sometimes I'm in edge and I want to purchase something with PayPal, it will open in PayPal in ie11. But it can't finish the transaction because it won't go back to edge. I need to be able to pay for things in edge.
  11. Thanks so much. I can live with that. If I need to, I can switch browsers to use protected browser. It does work fine with ie11. Microsoft always seems to make things more difficult.
  12. I've been using KIS for three years now and am quite satisfied. I noticed in services info there is a windows Defender program running at start up. It's called msascuil.exe and I've read that it's a windows defender anti-spyware program. Should this be running? I've turned off everything else associated with windows defender. I didn't think it was a good idea to run two different spyware programs at the same time. Any feedback would be much appreciated. TIA
  13. Thanks for the update Berny. Do you have any idea how 'near' we are to it? PS I noticed the Arthur Conan Doyle reference under your name. I'm a big ACD fan. I've got his complete works of Sherlock Holmes. I still read it from time to time.
  14. The protected browser seems to work fine with ms IE 11. But it doesn't seem to work with ms Edge. Am I missing something or am correct in assuming that it isn't compatible in Edge?
  15. My problem seems to happen with Microsoft edge browser. It seems to work fine until it tries to go back to the web site to finalize the transaction. I think Microsoft's attempt to streamline a browser has caused the problem. Extensions have to be approved through their store. They have a Kaspersky extension there, but it only goes up to KIS 2014. I'm going to try it anyway and see if it helps. If not I'll go back to IE.
  16. When I purchase something on the internet, I prefer to use PayPal than giving out my bank or credit card info. A couple of times lately, I've came across a situation where I click on PayPal as my choice of payment and it takes me to PayPal in a protected browser. I log in, PayPal gets the transaction info, okays the transaction and then says that they're sending back to the original website to finish the transaction. The only problem is that it never gets back. It just sits there. I end up closing out the protected browser and finalizing the transaction on the original site with my credit card. I'm not sure who's at fault, PayPal, safe money or the original site. Is anybody else experiencing this problem and is there a fix.

  18. Thanks to all. I agree with hd27564. As long as it doesn't upset the performance of the pc, I'd rather have as much protection as possible. So I just went in and turned off notifications. Haven't thought about it since.
  19. Sorry for the delay, Indio. I'll just captured a screenshot and I'll attach. I will also look into what richbuff said. I did check it out and it's set to automatically with other choices being manually, daily, weekly and at startup of app. Should I switch to daily?
  20. I should have been more complete. Yes it's data bases and application modules that are updated every two hours. It just happened but I missed getting screenshot. Still, every two hours seems like overkill. I guess better safe than sorry.
  21. Every 2 hours I get a pop-up stating data and applications update was successful. Is this normal? Is there a setting where I can change the frequency of this action. Every two hours seems a little to often.
  22. I've been working to resolve this problem for quite a while now. First a brief synopsis. I have a smart tv with internal Roku stick 3400x. It's worked fine for over a year. With the new version 2.0 upgrade of the YouTube app I can't seem to be able to log in. They've had some problems with the stability of the new app, but it seems to work now. Roku loads the YouTube app and it seems to work fine now. When I go to log in on the app, it gives me a code to enter at https://accounts.google.com/signin/oauth/usercode?flowName=DeviceOAuth. I enter the code in the box, hit next, and it just hangs. Finally I checked page elements on the page and numerous errors occurred. One that caught my attention was the following: SCRIPT5022: CustomError: Error in protected function: There was an error during the transport or processing of this request. Error code = 7, Path = /_/signin/oauth/usercode usercode (435,94) I was just curious as to if something in my KIS settings could be preventing the completion of this task. At this point I'm grasping at any possible solution. I've ran the getsystemtool and attached the file. I hope it's the right file. Any help would be much appreciated. TIA, Richard GetSystemInfo_RICHARDCHELM_Richard_2017_11_25_12_38_41.zip
