Installing kaspersky on notebook with no cd drive

Recommended Posts

I am going to buy a netbook and would like to know if kaspersky is compatible with windows 7 starter edition.

Secondly the netbook does not have a cd drive, I have seen on another thread you can download kaspersky from the update section and then use the product key. I already have a laptop, is is possible to download Kaspersky to it, put it on a memory stick and then transfer it to the netbook. I am looking looking at internet security 2010.

I don't want to go online with the netbook until I have anti virus installed. I got caught out with an old computer which got a virus and was never the same.

Kaspersky 2010 is compatible with Windows 7 and has the system requirements shown here - http://support.kaspersky.com/kis2010?level=3

Starter Edition is NOT included in the list.

Contact KL for verification if you like - http://support.kaspersky.com/support/international

Generally, you can download Kaspersky Internet Security, transfer the installation file and install it. http://www.kaspersky.com/kis_latest_versions and transfer it to another system via USB.

You need internet connectivity to activate Kaspersky.

Remember to perform a Windows update soon after you connect to the internet.
