Bypass BitLocker with Wake-on-LAN option

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

We want to try the following scenario in our environment:
In certain days of the week we want to use the WOL feature of Kaspersky to power on, scan/update, and then power off different groups of PCs.
The problem is that some of the PCs are encrypted using BitLocker so every time a PC gets prompted by WOL it asks for the BitLocker key. Is there any way Kaspersky can bypass this? I know that this is possible with SCCM for example for deploying Windows Updates.

Any experiences/suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thank You,

Blagoja

Hello!

Unfortunately the WOL functionality and the enccryption are managed by different components and they do not correspond with each other, so bypassing the BitLocker Login is impossible for KES.

Thanks!

Hi Ivan,

Would a computer encrypted using Kaspersky FDE work with Wake On Lan?

Kaspersky stores the credentials to pass through FDE in account management so can this work with Wake On Lan?

Thanks,

Andy

Hello!

Unfortunately such a scenario is impossible.

You will get the PreBoot Agent login windows after the machine is started.

Thanks!
