I installed Kaspersky 6 on a 2k8 x64 server yesterday. Now that I am back in the shop, the are aover 1000 instances of avp.exe*32 running on this machine. I didn't notice this until I looked at processes from all users. This server is critical and it is now unusable. I am going to uninstall right now, but does anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

What is it - Kaspersky 6?
If Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers - it's
incompatible with Windows Server 2008 x64.
Must be
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition.

Yes, that is what it is. 6.0 AV for servers. Thanks for the answer.
We are having the same problem here with Server 2008 x64. Everything is fine until Updates are ran, then we get over 2200 instances of avp.exe *32 in the task manager.
If the Enterprise version is the only version compatible with x64, then the Kaspersky team should change the website to reflect that.
It currently states that KAV 6 Windows Server Ed is compatible for both x86 AND x64?
What's the correct answer Mr Admin?
