Hi there.

Our neighbourhood now has gigabit speed...which I have signed up for with my ISP.

Here's my current setup that I have used to test my speeds:

- Windows 10

- HP Spectre laptop

- ISP gigabit speed modem

- KAV 2017

First test:

- Direct connect with cat 5E cable from gigabit speed modem to my laptop

- KAV 2017 turned on with network traffic processing turned on

- speedtest results = average 350 Mbps down and 35 Mbps up

Second test:

- Direct connect with cat 5E cable from gigabit speed modem to my laptop

- KAV 2017 turned on with network traffic processing turned off

- speedtest results = average 350 Mbps down and 35 Mbps up

Third test:

- Direct connect with cat 5E cable from gigabit speed modem to my laptop

- KAV 2017 turned off...windows defender running

- speedtest results = average 750 Mbps down and 35 Mbps up

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Based on the above tests, it appears that KAV 2017 is bottle-necking my speeds.

Can you please advise why KAV 2017 is doing this and if there is some optimized version for Gigabit speeds?

Your support to address this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Please note that I tried to use the getsysteminfo report, but it was taking way too long to generate. Is this common and how long should this report take?

Welcome. Instead of using a speed test website, please download a large file and calculate the speed.

GSI should take a few minutes.

You're welcome. I do not see any obvious conflicts in your report.

This appears in your event viewer: "The system detected an address conflict for IP address 192.168.0.10 with the system having network hardware address 10-BF-48-D9-8E-48. Network operations on this system may be disrupted as a result.'

Also, plus the post located above this post,

I suspect you are using a Web Browser based speed test. KAV defaults to checking all "Web Traffic"(and you really want it to do so). Of course it will slow down sends and receives from and to you browser as it examines each and every packet for malware.

As a TEST and only as a test, go to SETTINGS > PROTECTION and turn off "Web Anti-Virus" than rerun you test. As soon as the test ends, turn "Web Anti-Virus" back on. I suspect you will see faster speeds.

Bu you really, really want to check web traffic during normal operations.
