KSC Admin Server Upgrade Question [In progress]

Recommended Posts

Hello

Our Kaspersky Security Center Admin Server is version 10.2434 and we have deployed KES10SP1MR2 full disk encryption to our clients.

I would like to upgrade the KSC server to version 10.3.407. Can I do this? Or do I have to unencrypts all of our client first and then upgrade KSC to 10.3.407 and then re-encrypt the clients?

Regards

Updating KSC has no effect on the client encryption. Also, clients can be upgraded to MR3 without decryption (though it will still display as MR2).

Hello,

you don't need to decrypt client machines in order to upgrade KSC server.

Thank you.

SOrry to hijack this, but a followup question:

If you update the Client to the next release, would we need to de-encrypt, and then re-encrypt the systems?

Hello.

This depends on the version.

As mentioned earlier, decryption is not necessary in order to upgrade KES 10 SP1 MR2 to KES 10 SP1 MR3. However, it is required when upgrading from earlier versions.

Thank you.
