  3. Hi @Lester , on the screenshot it is not fully visible, does that string on the right says “Access denied”? Can you open the folders via File Explorer (Win+E)? Did you change the settings via Settings → Scan → Full scan settings (or another scan task) → Advanced settings → Run under the rights of the following user? Try to indicate a user with administrator rights, and run the scan task again, will it change anything? Regards, Igor
  4. hi Patrick, You do not need to make noise to get the 2020 version installer and the registry hint. A simple request to technical support and explanation of why 2020 version is needed should be enough. As for the company policy, the idea is to focus more on one version and not to scatter resources over several product versions. This should help resolve more issues in one version and thus make it as close to perfection as possible. If still you face an issue, the workaround to get back to version 2020 is still there and you can get it via technical support. Regards, Igor
  5. Hi @phunction , Do you use other Kaspersky products, like Safe Kids? Run KAVRemover utility with --nodetect key: - download kavremover utility (https://support.kaspersky.com/1464). - run CMD (Windows Command Processor) by pressing Win+R, then type CMD and press Enter - drag the downloaded file kavremvr.exe to CMD window - press "Space" on the keyboard and type: --nodetect - press "Enter" - choose from the drop down menu the Kaspersky Free\Kaspersky Anti-Virus\Internet Security\Kaspersky Total Security 2021 (or another version, that you had installed) - enter the code from the picture and run the removal process - restart PC Regards, Igor
  6. Hi @mverost , Some files contain objects, which actually can be other files within archives. A corrupted object can be one that is damaged, and does not perform properly. A corrupted object, just like a corrupted file, may occur due to a defect or bug in the software used to create and manipulate the file in question. Or there can be an issue with the hard drive. What I would recommend: Open cmd as administrator, run the command "chkdsk /f /R", restart PC, disk checking will launch. Also run: sfc /scannow to scan and repair a possibly corrupt Windows system. Regards, Igor
  7. Hi Flood🐳&🐋, “Already done” means that “there is some way”, and it has been explained further in the text: “For situations when the version 2020 is needed due to issues with stability in newer version, there is a workaround: install version 2020 and make changes to registry to disable automatic upgrade to newer versions. ” You are welcome🙏 Igor
  8. Hi @Patrick O'Keefe , Already done. For situations when the version 2020 is needed due to issues with stability in newer version, there is a workaround: install version 2020 and make changes to registry to disable automatic upgrade to newer versions. Please check your PMs. Regards, Igor
  9. @D14BL0 , if you prefer to store your passwords somewhere in a file on the PC or in the cloud, it is absolutely recommended to use Kaspersky Password Manager. How Kaspersky Password Manager protects your data: read here.

  16. you are welcome, Marti. We got the incident, thank you. The easiest way to find out the version is to hover the mouse pointer over the Kaspersky icon in Windows tray. Other ways: right click on the product icon and choose About in the program click on the support icon (a man’s head with a microphone in the lower bottom corner) Regards, Igor
  17. You are most welcome @Il.Za Answering your question: As you found out, the enabled Windows Memory Integrity Feature disables usage of hardware virtualization in Kaspersky and as you know and as written in the article, this reduces the capabilities of Protected Browser to protect the user against some complex threats. On the other hand, Windows Memory Integrity is a feature that adds a layer of protection. The decision is up to you. We recommend enabling hardware virtualization to use Kaspersky features for additional protection.
  18. You are most welcome @Il.Za If there are no performance issures or any other conflicts induced by enabled Windows Memory Integrity Feature, you can enable it for an additional layer of security.
  19. Hi @Il.Za , Hardware acceleration is also used by System Watcher in certain scenarios. “Memory integrity is a feature of Windows that ensures code running in the Windows kernel is securely designed and trustworthy. It uses hardware virtualization and Hyper-V to protect Windows kernel-mode processes from the injection and execution of malicious or unverified code.” Kaspersky products definitely protect from the injection and execution of malicious or unverified code with the help of File Anti-Virus, System Watcher and Application Control. Regards, Igor
  20. Hi @Marc Jackson , Kaspersky Security Network actually does have benefits, please check this out: https://support.kaspersky.com/us/8775 Regards, Igor
  21. hi @Marti , Please submit a ticket to technical support via https://my.kaspersky.com and send me the incident number. If you are using a non-commercial version of Kaspersky, please include a link to this forum post in your request to support. As a workaround you can try to add Proton VPN to exclusions via Settings -> Protection -> Application Control -> Manage applications -> search for Proton VPN -> double click on the found application in the results below -> tab Exclusions. Regards, Igor
  22. Hi @gerikay , 24% for 27 hours does not look normal. How many files do you have on the 1TB drive? Did you check the drive health, no errors? As Berny suggested, a GSI would be needed to get more clues. Regards, Igor
  23. Hi @Johny , It looks like an actual attack which has been blocked, so you have nothing to worry about. Kaspersky is doing its job protecting you. To verify that it is not a false detection, we would need traces and network logs submitted to technical support via my.kaspersky.com. Regards, Igor
  24. Hi @user236, I just checked on my Win10 + KIS 21.1.15.500 (b) and there is a black screen when I try to make a screenshot with Snipping Tool. Please submit a ticket to technical support via https://my.kaspersky.com Regards, Igor
  25. Hi Flood+1whale, To fully identify that this Scan.Generic.PortScan.TCP is the known issue, one needs to check the report and make sure the string: “Detected object is added to exclusions” is present. If the attack is blocked and there is no “Detected object is added to exclusions” - we need to further investigate. Hi @gunny, Please check the reports via More Tools → Reports → select Network Attack Blocker on the left site → check that attacks have this string: “Detected object is added to exclusions” Hi @Johny, Yes, Kaspersky Free protects against network attacks. See more here. Regards, Igor
