  1. got exact same issue, almost all my users have now reported it not tried the .dll fix yet, not really practical to update 50 machines across 3 sites manually hopefully we will get an update soon? or at least acknowledgement that KL that there at least be one!!
  2. have had exact same problem with kaspersky since the upgrade.. a posted a topic in here a couple of months ago... no response not thought about changing to tasks to run by x hours instead of x days sounds like it might be a solution cheers
  3. saidd used the delete temp folder suggestion mentioned in another topic, that seems to resolved it for now if problem persists i will alter settings to use the ftp server and give you a reply
  4. just to confirm that after deleting contents of that folder the updates now work .....if they still working tomorrow is another thing all together
  5. also have the same problem today i did that fix last week regarding a different issue.... and thats when this current error message started Failed 25 May 2010 08:34:34 Operation cancelled. 25 May 2010 08:34:39 Running 25 May 2010 08:34:34 Update source selected 'http://dnl-17.geo.kaspersky.com/'. 25 May 2010 08:34:39 Running 25 May 2010 08:34:34 Task started. 25 May 2010 08:34:39
  6. not been able to get an update to work since this now fails with an operation cancelled error? if run automatically or manually, going to keep working on it going to start a support ticket over other 2 issues as nothing forthcoming on here
  7. tryed the temp fix no longer going cpu crazy but obviously is now having to download all of bases again (quite a large amount of data), looks like its going to be ok although not sure what will happen next time it tries to download? will it just lock up again? edit* : yep download task completed succesfully 1 down, 2 to go!!
  8. since i upgraded the server and network a couple of months back i have been struggling with various automation errors relating to the admin kit - scheduled group tasks; simply do not run as per the schedule, i get no errors, no messages, no indication at all that they are not working until i get an alert that bases are out of date or scan hasnt been run in a long time. if i then manually start the task it runs fine on all of the machines it covers? It does work for some of the groups ( i have 8 different groups all with different policies and tasks), but others it does nothing unless i run manually. i have re-built tasks from scratch just to make sure its not an issue when they were upgraded, but still no joy. servers are 2003, workstations are mainly xp, a few win 2k and vista, win 7 machines - licence key updates; this could be related to the problems with the group tasks, but when i ran the global task to install the licence keys, i marked the setting "use when active key expires" , so it would just switch over to the new key as the other one ran out (some pcs expire a few weeks after the others). this has always worked on previous versions, but this time round the old keys simply expired, and i then get an alert and have to manually run a task to intall the keys. this has occured on both servers and workstations? - up2date.exe; This is something that has only started occuring recently. It will run for hours, using all of the cpu for the server. i have altered the settings slightly to stop task after 60mins, so may help, unless of course it doesnt download the updates. when i came on this morning it had been running for over 6 hours? this has been working fine until now so basically with this new version i have ended up having to do a lot more previous automated jobs manually to keep my network secure, previous version was fine, i had no issues at all as far as i am aware everything is using the latest versions: server: workstation: admin kit: 8.0.2090 i have considered it might be down to the machine the server is running on, its not the highest spec machine on network, but does nothing else but run the kaspersky server. I dont really want to start moving things un-neccsarily thoughts, ideas, fixes welcome
  9. Hello rob thanks klnagchk helped me diagnose the problem must admit never used it before or was even aware of its existence instantly confirmed it was a dns issue (didnt realise it stored server details using NETBIOS name on the client) simply added server ip to the hosts file everything aok many thanks
  10. I thankfully only had this occur on 1 of my 6 file servers took me a while to work out what the hell was going on glad there is a fix, i will apply first thing as server is running without any protection at moment
  11. hello all got an unusual issue that ive spent most of day trying to resolve, and im all out of ideas, hoping someone here can help! Basically i have a pc on the same physical network, but has a totally unique ip subnet admin kit subnet: pc subnet: it is routed through our firewall and at moment has an allow all policy, all other communication between the main network and this pc is working correctly i can ping, browse network shares etc etc only thing that isnt working is kaspersky kit. i have other remote pcs on different subnets, that use same firewall and i have no problems at all contacting them with admin kit the only thing unique about this pc is that it is in a workgroup rather than a domain and there is no reference to it in active directory at all. the strange thing is admin kit detects the workgroup and the pc although as soon as i add it to its own managed group admin kit claims it is unavailable on the network but it allows me to install the network agent and workstation application to it? i have re-installed the network agent 3 times now and it still claims it cannot see the pc in question? windows firewall is disabled, kaspersky is running on the machine, it just cannot be centrally controlled oh and ive added the subnet to the list of IP subnets in admin kit i am using admin kit: 8.0.2048 same version network agent and workstation : both pcs are xp pro many thanks in advance
  12. ok totally deleted all of the existing "install key" global tasks rebuilt them this time the tasks have run and completed ( i suspect that maybe the task i was using was trying to install key on wrong version e.g. fileserver v5) forced syncronize now correct keys being used cheers,
  13. this is what the compatabilty file says: 43.key Kaspersky Anti-Virus for FreeBSD/OpenBSD File Server Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux File Server Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Server Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows File Servers Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Novell NetWare Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Samba Servers Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5 for Windows FileServers 4.key Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Workstation Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows File Servers Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Novell NetWare Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux File Server Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Samba Servers under the global task results pane, it just says CREATED for the status if the job its not actually doing anything else? ill try syncronizing network, but ive had this issue since last week.
  14. hello for some reason i have never been able to understand, whenever i get my yearly licence keys through they are never in a single key file. this year i got one that had 43 licences, another that had 4. i accidently installed the key that only has 4 workstation/fileserver licence in it on 5 pcs. as a result i am now getting :Critical: More than 110% of licenses is currently in use on a daily basis i have tried to install the x43 licence key onto machines that are using just the x4 pc licence key, using a global task but it does nothing? i assume this is because it already has what it thinks is a valid key? how do i remove a seemingly valid, but over used key and replace it with another licence key? where does it live? can i just browse to folder and delete? thanks
  15. ok appears to be working now using latest workstation version maybe there is something in the update that is causing problems with v .690 ? im going to roll new version out across network, so hopefully it will resolve issue with them all thanks for the help people
