  1. When I have an SQLPlus (Oracle) session that is idle for longer than about 10 minutes, KIS terminates the connection. How do I configure KIS to stop this from happening?
  2. I have no problem with Windows Update. I have no malware that I am aware of. However, because KAS seems to he having difficulty working correctly, I am concerned. I recently (in the last month or so) have had CHKDSK need to run at boot time on several occasions - not all the time, but most of the time. This need for CHKDSK makes me concerned. I have attached the virusinfo_syscure.zip file from AVZ.exe The Suspicious Objects section of this report lists 265 API hooks - to my uneducated eyes this seems high, is it? Let me know if you need any information on the programs, drivers, etc listed. Thank you for your assistance. virusinfo_syscure.zip
  3. I've uploaded the GSi report ( http://www.getsysteminfo.com/read.php?file...da768399bd5e341 ) I don't see anything in the report that jumps out at me saying "the basegui.ppl problem is here". I see a file on my system named basegui.ppl Directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2011\x64 07-Dec-2010 07:22 2,463,928 basegui.ppl Why can't KIS use (start) this module? edit: clickable link.
  4. I ran the kasperksy removal tool, rebooted and reinstalled KIS 2011. Here is the GSi report. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. GetSystemInfo_FOG_default_user_2010_12_07_08_18_17.zip
  5. I've been getting an error dialog box when I click on help or try to use many of the features of KIS. I upgraded to KIS 2011 thinking this would solve the problem - it has not. To upgrade, I de-installed KIS 2010, rebooted and installed 2011, then rebooted again. The full contents of the error dialog is: There was a problem starting basegui.ppl The specified module could not be found. What is this "specified module" and how do I tell KIS how to find it? Thank you.
  6. I'm running KIS 9.0.0.736(a. on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit I would like to delete some firewall rules that somehow got automagically created. I would rather not have to scroll and scroll and expand each one clicking "Deny" three times (maybe if I click my heels together 3 times?) for every C:\TMP\BlahBlah.exe or E:\autoplay.exe. In fact I disable autoplay and HATE this bug of windows. I dislike it even more that Kaspersky automagically punches holes in the firewall for this crap. I want to delete these rules, but the UI does not let me. Help!
  7. I'm running KAS 6.0.2.621 and since the second week of December or so KAS has been causing my cygwinX sessions to hang. I haven't been able to determine what triggers the hanging, but it's definitely something from KAS when I fire up and xterm window and ssh to another computer. I can disable KAS and all is well, but then as soon as KAS reenables, the X programs all hang. I've been pausing protection for 5 hours at a time but today I've had it! I just burned 4 hours doing a database upgrade only to have Kaspersky clobber my session when I was almost done - I get to work late tonight and rerun the upgrade  Anyone have a clue what updates happened last month, why xterm windows running ssh all suddenly hang or what I can do to troubleshoot this pain in the patootie? Chip
  8. I'm running KIS 6.0.2.621. I see actions in Proactive Defense, Registry tab recording actions that were blocked. How do I find the rule that fired blocking the action. I'm seeing actions blocked that I don't want blocked. 12-Oct-2007 11:23:36 AM C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2210074747-890762736-3747083109-1005\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced Start_ShowNetConn_ShouldShow 0x00000042 (66) 32-bit number Create detected 12-Oct-2007 11:23:36 AM C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2210074747-890762736-3747083109-1005\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced Start_ShowNetConn_ShouldShow 0x00000042 (66) 32-bit number Create blocked I cannot find a rule in settings, Proactive Defense, Registry Guard, Settings that would cause this action to be blocked. What rule is responsible? I'd like to tune it! Thanks
