  1. I initially referenced KB10663. When I didn't find the registry values indicated in that article, I referenced the following articles: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=193646 http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showt...p;#entry1453224 These last two articles are more about USB and other devices breaking after *installing* KES/KIS, not after removing it, as in my case. I don't have access to the workstations right now to pull the logs, but will post them as soon as possible.
  2. Actually, it appears to be disabling multiple devices after uninstall (either via Add/Remove Programs or Kavremover). After a System Restore, I can see the following events have been logged. Looks like the KLFLTDEV driver is being uninstalled from the system, but not cleanly: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: KLFLTDEV Followed by multiple events for multiple devices (for example): The driver \Driver\KLFLTDEV failed to load for the device Root\MS_SSTPMINIPORT000.
  3. As mentioned in my first post, the registry values specified (klkbdflt and klmouflt) in that KB are not present on these systems, so it is no help.
  4. Having this happen on several Win7-x64 workstations. I've looked for the 'upperfilter' registry keys, but the kaspersky values (klkbdflt and klmouflt) are not present as indicated in the support articles. I've tried the usbrestore command from the terminal window in the KES Rescue CD but it can't find the Windows OS on the C: drive for some reason, so it errors out. I can revert Windows to a restore point prior to KES uninstall and get mouse and keyboard back. Also tried the kavremover utility, but after a reboot, back to no mouse and keyboard. Any help appreciated.
  5. I'm confused, then. If I install SP1 over MR1 and it breaks, I can simply apply the fix and re-apply SP1? No need to restore from backup, etc.? On a side note, this all seems pretty ridiculous. A service pack to fix existing issues breaks the product. A private fix is then required, which must be requested from support. Then once the service pack is fixed, there are already post-service pack patches which need to be applied. :dash1:
  6. Can someone please clarify the process for applying SP1 to the MR1 release? If I understand correctly; 1) Backup KSC 2) Install SP1, which fails and corrupts KSC 3) Restore KSC from backup 4) Apply patch b Once KSC works, then; 1) Create a task to uninstall previous agent from clients 2) Install new SP1 agent to all clients 3) Create a task to apply patch b to all clients Is this the correct process?
  7. Will this patch be integrated into the installation source at some point in the near future?

A number of folks have experienced database corruption on the server when installing the new version, requiring a restore/rebuild of KSC (see thread below). http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=317828 Personally, I'm waiting until this issue is fixed before rolling out. If you go forward, ensure you have a good backup and are familiar with the restore process.
  9. I agree, this would be very helpful. I'm disinclined to upgrade without first knowing if the upgrade is going to break our AV. Otherwise I'll likely be making more work for myself.
  10. Sorry, I don't understand. For example, I have several workstations that show multiple 'viruses found' in KSC column; one with 211, one with 10, one with 4, one with 3, etc. Yet no workstations appear in the "Many viruses detected". So what conditions have to be met for a workstation to show up in this collection?
  11. Can anyone tell me what are the criteria for this collection. All I see is Computer name="*" and Computer status description="Many viruses detected" I have several workstations that reflect 'viruses found' in KSC, but nothing ever appears in the 'Many viruses detected' collection. What must happen for this collection to show any workstations?
