Automatic renewal, Dishonest or No?

I just renewed my subscription and then after the "buy now" I saw the statement where Kaspersky would be setting me up for an automatic renewal. There was no option to decline and this got me thinking...they must also be storing my credit card info. This really seems counter to the whole idea tp the purpose of the product which is to protect personal and sensitive information. I see that Norton does the same/similar shady thing but at least with them you can in your account setting see that this is enabled and you also have the direct control to turn it off. Kaspersky seems to be flying low under the radar hoping you don't notice and making it a bit more complicated to deal with. If as it would seem that my credit card info is being stored, what assurances and GUARANTEES do I have that my info is protected and if compromised, what will they do about it?

I asked this DURING the purchase which was done on the phone with a sales person on the phone who by the way also insisted that their new way of purchasing required a screen share where he did also have some control of my computer. He stated that critical personal information was redacted and he could not see it but, I did have to complete the order form while he had access to my screen. I was told that the declination could only be done after the purchase was complete. Since then, I have been into my account and have found no place where this can be turned off. My inquiries into this have rendered information that suggests that this can only be disabled by submitting a request with your purchase number and email address submitted to support to have it turned off. Further, there is no promise that your credit card number isn't still being stored.
