  1. It took me a bit to figure this out, but I finally got it. I tried a few things like manually doing dd in Terminal.app, DDRescue-GUI and Unetbootin, but that did not work for me. What finally worked was using the Kaspersky Rescue Disk Creation Tool from a Windows VM on my Mac (Bootcamp is an option too). You may need a custom bootloader like ReFind ( link ) to get it to work on your Mac. I'm not sure though, as I was already using one. Its working great for me now. No right-click on the trackpad or through ctl-click, but I was able to get that functionality with a USB mouse. Built-in wireless networking doesn't seem to work either, but I had a USB WiFi Adapter that worked fine.
