  1. Register your license on My Kaspersky Then you can download the file listed under software in your My Kaspersky account and activation seems to happen in the background or is already activated or tied to your account somehow. I have reinstalled Windows many times recently then downloaded/installed from My Kaspersky and do not have to even enter a code during install. Then right after install when I open the UI the product is activated.
  2. Try turning off script injection. Settings -> Additional -> Network -> Inject scripts into web traffic to interact with web pages
  3. Instead of just turning notifications off in Win 10 setting you can click on the KIS/KAV entry where it says "show notifications from these apps" and you will be taken to another screen where you can select what notifications you want or do not want. Here is an example from KAV.
  4. On windows 7, 8 and 8.1 it is easier to just open the snipping tool. OP has 8.1 so just right click start button > search > type in snip or snipping in the search box. This way you can make an exact size capture of whatever is on the screen you want to capture without having to resize or clip as you would need to do with paint. //Edit: back to the topic:
  5. I believe KLIF stands for either Kaspersky Lab Internet Filter or Kapsersky Lab Internet Firewall. I never said it affected security. What I wondered is why KIS/KAV 2015 were released on July 7th with a bug that was reported in beta? A bug that was addressed one week later after release. Why am I sent a email telling me to upgrade to the new version if it still has a bug? What could have been the harm of waiting to release 2015 version another week or two so the patch for this error/bug could have been included in the initial release? Just a one/two week delay is all it would have taken and this thread would be non-existent.
  6. If I remember correctly the KLIF is a network driver and the error in event viewer is a driver error not a GUI error. Face it, Kaspersky just wants to rush out the next product so not to get behind Bitdefender, Symantec and other vendors who have already released the next version of their product. I resolved my issue by going back to 2014 version just like last year when 2014 was released I had to go back to 2013 until about patch C.
  7. Kaspersky user since 2006 and I always wonder why Kaspersky even have beta testing as they always release the product with reported bugs still in the product. It is like the retail customers who do not want to be beta testers end up beta testers too whether they want to be or not.
  8. Try turning off the icon animation. The default for icon animation used to be off but 2015 versions the default is on. This is in KAV but may be the same in Kis. setting > additional > appearance > icon animation during tasks (can't remember the exact wording)
  9. In addition to the instructions in this post: Safe mode is there but harder to find. Windows 8 monitors the startup procedure and when problems are detected with the boot it automatically take you to the new Recovery Mode. You will see a message stating: Recovery. It looks like Windows didn't load correctly What you need to do is select advanced repair options>Troubleshoot>Advanced options>Windows Startup Settings>Restart The computer will now boot into an Advanced Boot Options screen in which Safe mode can be selected. Edit: In addition to...
  10. I did not disable scanning of ports but did clear the check for the box "Monitor all network ports for applications that are vulnerable to network attacks" The doc for that setting says that is is not checked by default but mine was checked. Since clearing that check box all browsing is quick again for me.
  11. If you are referring to patch B it has not made a difference with me at all so far. Some sites still slow and what is really irritating is trying to access devices on my LAN takes up to 30 seconds when in 2013 version I could access these devices instantly. Example is trying to go into my router http://192.168.1.1 with 2014 there is a 15 to 20 second delay before the GUI comes up. If I place that URL into trusted sites there is no lag but come on...this is my LAN not the WAN.
