  1. I have a client that is up for license renewal. They are not ready to upgrade to version 10 of the endpoint protection for business and are still using version 6. If I have them purchase an Endpoint Security Core license pack, can this be applied to version 6 (or 8) of the endpoint protection for business?
  2. Any support for the recent Exchange 2010 SP3 update yet for Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers (8.2.124.0)?
  3. I'm running Endpoint Security for SmartPhone 8.1.80 on Android 2.3.6. Through the default policy on the KSC, I have disabled the blocking feature in the anti-theft controls. This policy has been applied to all phones. The phones continue to randomly be blocked. I get a message on the phone that says "Device blocked! Please return it to the owner." I have sent no SMS command to the phone to enable this, and it shouldn't be possible anyway since I have the blocking feature disabled by policy. Why is happening? It seems to occur with no rhyme or reason. The first couple of times it occurred on cross-country business trips. The last time just occurred this week with the phone on the premises of our home office. I can not have these phones randomly deciding to block themselves. I'm on the fence about removing Kaspersky and not using any a/v on the phones just to ensure they will work. Any advice you can give?

  5. Running Kaspersky Security 8 for Exchange version 8.2.124.0 on Exchange 2010 SP2. I am also running GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP. The Kaspersky product provides a/v (spam filtering disabled) and the GFI product spam filtering (a/v filtering disabled). Since upgrading our anti-spam software, gfi mailessentials 2012 (version 16.0.1818.1247), Kaspersky Security 8 for Exchange no longer works. It was functioning fine with MailEssentials 2010. I'll obviously be contacting GFI as well about the error, but only the kaspersky product is failing. I got the following error recorded with every email received on the server: kavscmesrv.exe Event occurred 2 time(s) within the interval 8/30/2012 2:13:51 PM-8/30/2012 2:15:52 PM. 6. Your install and administration guides (http://support.kaspersky.com/exchange/security8.0?level=2) are out of date. Just noticed they were written for PROGRAM VERSION: 8.0 MAINTENANCE PACK 1. I was already planning a full removal and reinstall next week sometime. Guess I'll wing it without the install guide.
  7. Just upgraded to the latest Kaspersky for Exchange version 8.2.124.0 from 8.0.0.5614 last night. As of around 11:30PM, I am getting the following error about every 10 minutes: kavscmesrv.exe 7/27/2012 3:14:33 PM Error Backup: Event occurred 60 time(s) within the interval 7/27/2012 10:09:33 AM-7/27/2012 10:14:28 AM. Any advice on how to fix this?
  8. Well now the site's working fine. Must have been a temporary bug. Would still like an explanation on why the codes don't stick. I've entered another new code for myself, but I'm guessing tomorrow it won't work again.
  9. Trying to use http://mobile.kaspersky.com/recover-code-lang?lang=En to recover a lost code for Kaspersky Endpoint for Smartphone 8. The site wants me to enter a captcha code. There is no image visible, and no text box to enter it into. I've looked on my android phone and on a laptop using both Firefox 13 and IE 8. No captcha code entry possible, and can't receive the code without one. Please advise. On another note, why does the code to my mobile phones keep randomly changing? I know the code that should be entered into my mobile, but it never works. I have 10 clients running KES on their phones, and every single time I want to get into the KES installed on them I have to go through this secret code recovery. I can then change the code to whatever I want. The code works for a day, then changes to something else apparently and I'm locked out. Any advice on this?
  10. Twice now, Endpoint Security for Smartphones has blocked our phones when a user has traveled across the country on a business trip. We run Android 2.3.6 phones through US Cellular. After the first time, I disabled the block feature in the anti-theft module. This was pushed out through the default policy, and I can see that every phone now has the "block" option disabled. I just received a panicked pay phone call from a user on a trip to Seattle. Their phone was bringing up a Kaspersky message stating the phone has been stolen and should be returned to its rightful owner. Obviously, this is false. We couldn't get the access code for kaspersky entered correctly (I have a suspicion this is being changed randomly by the administration console somehow), so we went the recovery code route and got into the phone. The block feature was disabled... Once the code was entered, the phone started working fine. Am I missing something else that needs to be disabled to prevent this? The other anti-theft features are still enabled, as it didn't appear as though they would be the culprit.
  11. Downloading directly from the web site worked. I see now that the version included in the admin kit installation file was MP1.8.1.71. That may have been the issue.
  12. I am attempting to remotely install from KSC 9 the Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone onto a US Cellular Galaxy S 4G LTE. It is running Android version 2.3.6. I have moved the installation files over to a workstation. I can see on the workstation that KES Installer is installed. The kmlisten.exe utility is visible on the workstation. Connecting my phone to the workstation is supposed to pop up an automatic installation program. This is not happening. My phone is recognized by the workstation, and I can bring up its SD card. I also tried moving the .apk setup file manually to the sd card. I can see that it is there on the computer, but the phone still won't run the file. Is this phone too new to run this software or is something else going on?
  13. The download links to the English manuals for endpoint security for smartphones are missing - http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/product...rity-smartphone. I need - Implementation Guide for Version 8 User Guide for Version 8 for Android Can anyone point me to an alternate location for them?
  14. Is there an ETA on a fix for this? I know it has been mentioned several times already. Latest KSC and Endpoint 8.1 versions. I have multiple laptops in my organization that have both a wired and a wireless network connection. At random times, Kaspersky will decide this isn't allowed and will throw up a "license usage exceeded" message. I know that I am under my machine count for my license. The message can be cleared by attempting to reload the license file (which will fail with an already in use message). The license will then load correctly. However, the machine will then lock up within two minutes requiring a hard reboot. I had a client have this happen 3 times this morning. The workaround is to turn off the wireless card when going back to a wired connection. Clearly this isn't a solution though, and I can't expect my clients to remember to do this every time.
