Recommended Posts

I've noticed "Unable to delete the task.." error (see attachment)

Task settings also could not be updated.

What can be cause for this error?

We need some more information.

Please export Kaspersky Event Log (from your AdminKit server computer) to a text file and send the archive to me as a personal message.

Every time if something is going wrong it's a good idea - to look through the Kaspersky Event Log.

In this case we see messages that contain the following text: "...Internal SQL Server error..."

Unfortunatelly, there are several bugs in Microsoft SQL Server (fixed in 2005 version only), that may lead to such errors:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915436/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916652/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916653/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917972/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906890/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885442/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902852/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885290/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830466/

To fix the situation, you should, f.e., install Microsoft SQL Express 2005 SP2.

1. Create Kaspersky Administration Kit backup using klbackup.exe.

2. Uninstall Kaspersky Administration Kit.

3. Uninstall MSDE2000/SQL Server 2000 (if it is not used by other applications!).

4. Install SQL Server 2005/SQL Express 2005 SP2.

5. Install Kaspersky Administration Kit of the same or newer version (6.0.1591 is preffered) and use the same database name as in previuos installation.

6. Restore data from backup using klbackup.exe.

I'm using:

MS SQL Server 2000 sp4

KAV Administration Kit 6.0.1591

I am going to consider upgrade to sql 2005.

Thank you for helping!

PS.

Just crossed my mind:

Is it possible to use old certificate (klserver.cer) with new instance of K.Administration Kit? If not, how could we connect all workstations currently connected to existing K.A. server to the new server?

It is impossible to replace server certificate just by copying public part stored in the klserver.cer. The only valid and recommended way of migration is backup/restore. That way all workstations will connect OK.

And via backup/restore certicifate should be restored too. Thanks.

Reinstall of the Administration server and upgrade on SQL 2005 using klbackup/restore went ok.

Current setup is:

Windows Server 2003 standard R2 SP2

SQL Server 2005 standard SP2

Kaspersky Administration Server 6.0.1591

No errors for now :)

Thank you for help.
