Kaspersky Password Manager for Mac 9.0 Beta

Recommended Posts

This topic highlights the beta testing of a new version of Kaspersky Password Manager for Mac 9.0.

A beta version is an official version of an application released for external testing before the commercial release in order to reveal defects and errors of the application and receive users’ feedback.

Beta version features:

• macOS 10.12 (Sierra) and macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) are supported.

• Safari 10 and later, Google Chrome browsers are supported.

• Only one localization is available: en-US.

Installation:

Download the KPM for Mac beta file and open it.

Follow the steps of the Installation Assistant. After the installation is complete, open Kaspersky Password Manager for Mac Beta.

Installation of extensions:

Safari:

Choose Safari > Preferences > Extensions and enable the Kaspersky Password Manager extension.

Google Chrome:

Download the kpmbeta.crx file and drag it to the Extensions tab of Google Chrome.

What’s new:

1.         We have added the tile view for entries in the main application window. We are looking forward to your comments.

2.         The structure of the database has changed:

·      We have eliminated Identities. When you upgrade to the new application version, all data from an Identity is saved to Addresses and Bank cards. The data that doesn’t suit these two entries is saved to Notes. Thus, all your data will remain intact after the update.

·      We have added a new entry type Images. You can now store sensible images (for example, scanned IDs) in the encrypted cloud storage. Supported file types: JPEG, PNG, BMP.

·      All new entries are synced.

3. Kaspersky Password Manager can now scan the local drive for sensible images, such as document scans.

After the scan is complete, the application will prompt you to upload all files recognized as documents to the cloud storage. In order to improve the quality of scanning, please send us images that were recognized as a document by mistake.

4. Addresses and Bank cards can be used to autofill online forms. This feature also is not perfect yet, we fixed some false detections of addresses and cards, and again, we will be grateful for your feedback on this feature.

5. New Installation Assistant with a tutorial slide show that also includes the new extension installation procedure.

6. Custom sorting of entries in the application have been implemented.

Important! Testing is conducted in the Beta environment. You can connect to the Beta environment with your regular My Kaspersky account, but the cloud storage and the license info will differ.

To access the beta portal, use following link and credentials:

Login: kpm_tester

Password: aQGi2PGb

It is important to understand that the beta portal can be unstable. If you can't connect to your account, wait for 10-30 minutes and try again.

Known issues:

1.         The articles in Online Help and links haven't been implemented yet.

2.         Autofill and autologin may work incorrectly on some websites.

3.         Some values in entry fields may be displayed incorrectly in different application window types. The values change to correct ones after switching between tabs and blocking/unblocking the application.

4.         Customized sorting can’t be saved.

5.         Value format or length limitations don’t work in some fields. Empty entries can be saved.

6.         The application allows adding more than 15 entries in the free version. After the application is blocked/unblocked, extra entries are deleted.

7.         The application can't be unblocked on devices with enabled Touch ID.

In case you find a problem:

Follow the instructions in the “Kaspersky Password Manager. Important information.” topic.

Sincerely yours,

Kaspersky Password Manager for Mac team
