KSC Update Problem [In progress]

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Can you please review the attached log and advise what can be the possible reason for KSC (10.2.434) Download Updates task getting stuck?

Hello,

What patches did you install on KSC ?

two causes are possible:

- incorrect configuration of proxy server

- access is blocked by a firewall or edge filter

You can use a browser to check the update servers' accessibility.

Type the following URL in the address bar http://dnl-01.geo.kaspersky.com/updates

Thank you.

Hi Dmitry,

Update Servers are accessible.

Updates are being downloaded as well, as we can see from the log.

However each time the following update is downloaded:

"updates/bin/kes10_cm/kes10_cm-1313g.xml.klz"

The error is logged.

So, that means there must be an intermediary device that is locking this particular update file -- because of which the updates are not completed.

Correct?

Or, can there by any other issue as well.

Yes, meanwhile -- I will also try to download this specific update file from the Administration Server as well.

The Server has the latest patches.

Thank you.

I have diagnosed the issue.

Following list of URLs are whitelisted on the Firewall:

http://support.kaspersky.com/general/products/6105

However, this particular update file as identified by SmackIT is redirected to different URL.

Please see attached screenshot.

Can you please share the complete list of URLs that need to whitelisted?

Thank you.

Hi Artem,

Can you please share the complete list of URLs.

The URLs given in KB are already white-listed.

If you review the screenshot shared the whitelisted URL redirects to a different URL for downloading that particular update.

Can you please share the complete list of URLs that are being used for updates?

Thank you.

You actually don't need to add all redirect links, it is sufficient to have an update list from article.

Can you please clarify if you are facing any issue at this moment?

How would redirect link when not whitelisted work?

If you check update task log there is no other link, you download direct from whitelisted URL.

Hi Artem,

After white-listing that particular URL from which the update was being downloaded -- the update task completed.

I think smaller issues like these which require basic troubleshooting skills should be handled well by KL support engineers on the forum.

Thank you.
