ZeldaYoshi Posted March 9, 2015 Hi, yesterday I bought Kaspersky Total Security and I haven't had a problem when installing it and it will run fine.I didn't have problems until today. When I run a full scan, it will scan fine but when it gets either 99% or 100% I will get an error saying "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application" When I click ok it will say full scan has completed. Another thing is when I installed it I tested it by making EICAR Test files to make sure it is working and it did tell me that it failed to disinfect it and it told me to delete it.And it deleted the files without a problem. And I just tested it again this morning but it said that it failed to disinfect and delete and it wants me to restart my computer.I'm not sure if it is protecting my computer right now.Any help would be appreciate.Thank you. I'm running Kaspersky on Windows 8.1 Share this post Link to post

Thanks for replying.I tried to disable ClickToRun and that didn't solve the problem.I did restart my computer and it solved the EICAR problem, and when to try to download GetSystemInfo, I get an error saying that the page for it was not found. So I can't download the software for that.Is there an alternative download link I can use? Adam1972 Posted March 11, 2015 It's not the file but the link to the uploaded report that's needed. Once your report completes it will open in a browser window, then copy it's url and paste into your reply. Share this post Link to post

Once your report completes it will open in a browser window, then copy it's url and paste into your reply. I did run the GetSystemInfo scanner and it scanned my system and made a zip file that contains 6 folders and 12 files and I can't upload that to the forum.Do I need to upload all of those files and folders or do I only need to include some of those files? Adam1972 Posted March 11, 2015 When you run the GSI scanner, once it completes it should open a browser window that says "Congratulations, your report has been created", then copy the URL of that page and paste it in to a reply here, you'll need to run the GSI tool again & copy that link, you do not need to upload any files to the forum. Just got done running the scanner. It doesn't open anything at all after it finishes,it just makes a zip file and then it doesn't do anything after that. Share this post Link to post
Adam1972 Posted March 11, 2015 Just tested GSI here and it is indeed not uploading the report. Double click the zip file, inside you will find another zip file with a similar name to the one on your desktop, extract that zip file as that's the one you need to upload. (note it will have a different number at the end to the original zip file) Go to https://www.getsysteminfo.com/ Click browse & locate the zip file you just extracted, check the box "I agree with the terms of use" then click submit, once the zip has uploaded and you get the congratulations screen, copy the url of that page and paste the link here. Mefodys Posted March 23, 2015 Hi. The issue occurs due to MS Office (tails, corruption). Try to reinstall Microsoft Office in the following way: 1. Uninstall all MS Office applications in a standard way via Add/Remove Programs, reboot. 2. Use special removal tools and instructons in order to completely remove all MS Office applications: - for Office 2013 and earlier: Install this tool http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/e...16a296a/ork.exe, go to Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Office Tools -> Microsoft Office 2003 Resource Kit -> Removal Wizard, in removal wizard select 'Comepletely remove all my previous versions of Microsoft Office application' and follow the instructions; - for Office 2007, 2010: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179 - for Office 2013, 365: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en 3. Manually delete all of below listed objects: - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE* - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\OFFICE - C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OFFICE 4. Reboot, make sure that the problem is not reproduced anymore. 5. Install needed MS Office package. Share this post Link to post

ZeldaYoshi Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) I uninstalled Microsoft Office and deleted all of it's files and then I ran the scanner and I didn't get an error message, after that was done I installed all of the needed Office packages and then I ran the scanner again and I got the error message again. I am starting to think that there is a certain file that will cause the error message when it tries to scan it because it gives me the error whenever it tries to scan SkyDrive.LocalizedResources.mui.dll (I don't remember what it said for where the file is located but I know it s somewhere in the Users folder).I did try to scan the User folder and it did not give me an error, I think it will give me the error when it tries to scan the file when running a full scan. Also I forgot to mention earlier that I had to put the install disc into a different computer and copy the files on it to a flash drive and install it from the flash drive on the Windows 8 computer because it doesn't have a disc drive which I just started thinking that could be the problem, but I don't think that is what is causing it because it works fins when Microsoft office isn't installed. What causes the error is having Microsoft Office and OneDrive installed at the same time and when I run a full scan, it will give me the error and what i did was uninstalled OneDrive and then ran the scanner again and it worked fine.
