KIS 2015 MR1 download location, and of course: When? and How?

Recommended Posts

..are you saying that we know have to go from kis15a to kis15MR1 manually.

Yes, because it is not merely a patch but maintenance pack with some old settings features added. Recommendation on this forum will be to uninstall build .463 and install version 15.0.1.415.

Ok, thanks. I'm in the UK, so do we wait for kis15MR1 to be available at some point at: http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/product-updates/internet-security, or do we get it from somewhere else now?

Thanks.

Didn't find official release notes, but some changes include:

- fixed some issues from MR0

- Advanced settings are back

- improvements in App control

I see from the forum list that release 2015 MR1 fixes a few things that will likely affect me (Outlook 2010 for example).

Is the latest release MR1 or are we still waiting and what version should I look out for to get MR1 ?

I've still got a few weeks to go and I'm undecided whether to continue with 2014 or go to 2015.

hi, what's the difference between 6838 and and 6711 (the actual version of MR1?)

I don't know. But functionality is the same everywhere.

Ok, so if I have version 15.0.0.463 do I have to perform a clean install for MR 1? When KIS 2015 was released, it was said that there would be a feature performing these updates automatically.

Please don't download from any 3rd party download site, its like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get.

It is available on Kaspersky USA site:

1) Download the latest 2015 MR1 version of Kaspersky: http://usa.kaspersky.com/files/?file=kis〈=en

2) Uninstall the older version like so: http://support.kaspersky.com/10014

3) Install the 2015 MR1 version and activate it with your 20-symbol activation code.

I am not getting it now, I am thinking again if I made a correct decision buying the KIS 2015 key for until next year , I joined forums just yesterday and I was asked to follow link http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=301039 to download the latest version of KIS 2015 , however as I can read the forum update no. 15.0.0.463 was old to update no. 15.0.1.415 which is I think MR1 prior to when I downloaded KIS2015 . However , link >> http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/internet-security << now downloads the newest version but when I downloaded it was 15.0.0.463 which I did. It is so annoying to find that even when MR1 (the newer version) was already available still the what I got was the older version

And moreover what about many many users who downloaded the previous version, and couldn't get time or resource to check whether a newer version is available on Kaspersky 'secretly' are doing? there is no such notification which indicates that a newer version of the same security suite is available? So as people get aware of it? Not everybody checks forums each month , right?

Since I have bought the new key for next year , I am not sure how many times I will be left unknown in upcoming year of these 'secret' updates of my trusted security suite? I am now running on a key which expires 7 days from now and then the new key will take its place ? Will it now be safe to upgrade ? And how Kaspersky plans to let every user know of the new update whether they find out by facing any bugs or not? Please answer :)

I know about that :) I know about MR1 now , but why didn't global website of kaspersky didn't show the same link yesterday was my question , and how will I keep myself aware of future MR updates, if I do not read every single post on forums daily ? meanwhile MR1 is already in my download list . Do let other users be aware of this by maybe a revolutionary technology called 'notification' in Kaspersky Products :)

Because the new build is not released simultaneously globally.

This, because different Kaspersky regions are ready at different times. Also, release happens gradually, so as to avoid having Tech Support being possibly swamped.

Notification does not happen globally simultaneously, for the same reasons.

Automatic application update feature will be enabled at different times in the future, for different regions, as each Kaspersky region sees fit, when they are ready.

Still closed, as all current discussion of this topic is recently repeated. :)

Hi,

I am new to this site. A month ago I bought KIS2014 to replace NIS which was about to expire soon and installed it on Win 8.1 Pro. I have IE11, FF32, GC38. I discovered KIS2014 did not support latest FF32 so I opened an incident to tech support and waited long time for response. No response so I read here that I can upgrade to KIS2015 so last week I got the updated link to upgrade to KIS2015. I upgraded ok and I noticed it fixed my issues with support FF32 except for KIS URL Advisor extension was not supported. Then over the weekend I noticed updates had fixed URLA extension. My KIS appl vers shows 15.0.0.463 ( b ).

Then I read KB 11185 http://support.kaspersky.com/11185#block2 which has 3 sects:

1. Patch B - v15.0.0.xxx ( b )

2. MR1 - v15.0.1.xxx

3. Public release of KIS2015 - v15.0.0.xxx

I am confused because 1. Patch B is a later update to 2. MR1 yet the 3rd number in vers has gone backward from 1 to 0.

Can someone please explain what is going on here? And also why tech support never responded to my incident? A nice reply along the lines "Hi, We are working on this issue and will let you know when we resolve your issue." would go a long way to keep your customers happy

Thank you,

Gregory.
