renewal problem

Well, it seems this year when I renew it doesn't go as smoothly as last year. Last night I renewed with credit card with no problem as I got confirmation, but this morning my Kaspersky window is still yellow and advising me I need to renew subscription. I'm prompted to "activate," but thought that was for purchasing a new product outright and now simply renewing. I did not upgrade to KIS 2011, I simply renewed yearly subscription for KIS 2010. Should I "activate" by entering the "active license" number in the activation field? Thanks.

Ah, don't think I did. Right at this very moment I'm not on my home computer but will be in an hour, and will make sure I enter new activation code. But I thought activation code stayed the same for renewal but I guess it needs activating with the code regardless. Anyway you gave me a good hint. Thanks Perry! Will update my progress here in about an hour or so.

You get a new activation code everytime you renew.

If you purchased a new code through Kaspersky, the 20-digit code should have been emailed to you. Once received, Click License > Activate the Application with a New License. This will bring up a box where you can enter your new code (without the hyphens). The code is good for your existing 2010 product and can be used if at some point you choose to clean upgrade to 2011.

 

That should be it. Remember to write down your code for safekeeping.

You are absolutely correct. Just activated with no problem. Was tired and late last night and forgot to check email from Kaspersky with new code, simply copied and pasted a minute ago, simple, simple. Getting old and senile I guess:) Thanks again for setting me straight, and thanks too dh27564 help and tip.
