  1. Over two days of troubleshooting and trying to get help from Kaspersky support, and the problem is as bad as ever. The phone connects about once a day, and shows disconnected at all other times. I've disabled and removed various software from my phone to rule out interference, to no avail. I've tried using mobile data. I've rebooted it. I refuse to uninstall and reinstall KIS.
  2. They fixed the article! I'm pleasantly surprised, although it no longer benefits me in any way. This is one of those times I'm glad to be wrong. https://support.kaspersky.com/12024
  3. I "escalated" the support ticket, then, after the customary delay, all I got was a response pointing me to an Android system info app. For an iPhone. Very helpful. So clearly, this was a losing cause. I gave up and removed Safe Kids. My daughter was complaining constantly about her iPhone being "glitched," and I don't blame her. As soon as I removed Safe Kids, everything was fine--except now I have no parental control software. And now, the same issue with the device showing disconnected in My Kaspersky is happening with my Android phone running KIS. Unbelievable.
  4. And within 1/2 an hour, it's disconnected again. Is it just me?
  5. I don't believe it's possible for any Android app to detect and block another app from accessing your camera (without rooting the device and installing specialized software), but any app that would use your camera without your knowledge or consent is malicious and should be detected by KIS as such.
  6. And within 5 or 10 minutes of posting this, the phone magically connected to the portal? Coincidence? I don't know, but I am very close to the limit of what I can deal with. Rarely does a day go by that I don't have a new issue with Kaspersky. Even on the "quiet" days I get strange and annoying popups, reboot requests, and other nonsense. I really did not install and purchase this so I could spend hours every week messing with it.
  7. Edit: Oops! Accidentally created this in the wrong forum. Please ignore me in the correct forum. I had this same type of issue with an iPhone that was using Safe Kids, but showing disconnected in the My Kaspersky portal. Now, my Android running Kaspersky Internet Security is showing disconnected, and has been that way for over a day. Everything looks fine on the phone. The license is showing fine, my phone has a perfect connection, it's used all the time. Is this because of the never-ending portal maintenance they're doing? Is it just me? Is there a solution? Anyone?
  8. Yep, known issue that customers will have to tolerate for up to 3 entire months, assuming they fix it at the end of April as stated. I do find it interesting that some people have said this issue doesn't affect users. Unnecessary reboots most definitely do affect users. Does anyone like imposed reboots? Moreover, if we learn to ignore reboot requests from Kaspersky, we may miss some reboot requests that are actually important, and not the result of this annoying bug. I do think that a single thread was sufficient, though. edit: Merged, and current answer added below:
  9. Never mind. I don't care anymore. The "Application Control" feature is utterly unbearable. I've been running KTS for a few weeks and you'd think it would be trained by now, but I just rebooted and responded to literally about 30 prompts until finally reaching my tolerance limit and turning the whole feature off. I did not install this software because I needed a new hobby.
  10. The help file is ambiguous. If the "Do not monitor child application activity" setting is enabled for an application, does that only apply to direct child processes? Or does it reply to all child processes, even several layers deep? For example, if I enabled "Do not monitor child application activity" for my browser*, then downloaded and launched an application with the browser (let's call it "app1.exe"), and that app launched another (app2.exe), it's clear that app1.exe's activity would be excluded. But what about app2.exe's activity? * I would never do this; it's just an example.
  11. Here's an article from a competitor that was thoughtful enough to mention that the device PIN may need to be entered first when removing a profile. Note step 6, which says "If requested, enter your iOS device unlock code." https://www.qustodio.com/en/help/article/1828948/
  12. I think I see what has happened. In KTS, the application used its own native pop-ups, which could be disabled individually. In KTS, the application (under Windows 10) uses the built-in Windows notifications. Individual notifications can no longer be turned off individually, it seems. That sucks! "In the Windows 10 operating system, application notifications have been replaced with pop-up messages consistent with the Microsoft standard." https://support.kaspersky.com/12185#block1 I do wonder what would have happened if I had database update notifications disabled before installing the update. Would they have remained disabled after installing the update? If not, I don't understand why the "Restore all hidden notifications" button is still there.
  13. OK, sanity check, please: You ARE supposed to be able to disable application database update popup notifications, right? Support is telling me that you can only enable or disable ALL notifications. (They are not addressing the fact that I don't see these notifications as popups at all; I'm only seeing them in the Action Center.) I could have sworn that in the previous build, I disabled just these notifications. I even remember the configuration page saying that "5 notifications were disabled" or something to that effect.
  14. Nope, the iPhone is losing internet connectivity for hours at a time when this issue occurs. I have to toggle airplane mode to restore it temporarily. This only started after installing Safe Kids. So far, support has done nothing but ask for my email address and give me a link explaining how to install the Safe Kids app.
  15. Also noticed this, which may be the problem: Maintenance work on My Kaspersky service Dear user, from 17 February until 30 March 2016 we are making improvements in My Kaspersky. This may result in temporary issues while working with the service.
