  2. Hi, I'm running Windows 7 64bit, PURE 9.1.0.124 I regularly get a crash of ProtectedObjectsSrv.exe Is that part of PURE? Faulting Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InfoWatch\CryptoStorage\ProtectedObjectsSrv.exe I don't have any other encryption programs.
  3. I notice this too, but I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with KIS.... it has to do with you using a public tracker for your torrent. When you use a bittorent, your IP is publicly viewable... so crazy people know you are a real computer, which they then proceed to attack. If you log into your router you will see the security log reflecting this. If it has an inbuilt firewall, set it to high, and turn on all the options. You will still be slowed down, but it will offer extra protection. The way to fix the problem (once you've closed utorrent etc), is to get a new IP address. In most countries they are issued dynamically by your ISP, so you just need to turn your modem off for a minute, then turn it back on, and you'll get a new IP, so the attackers no longer know where you are, so your speed etc goes back to normal. If your IP address is not dynamic like this, you might want to only use private trackers from now on (they still see your IP but they are unlikely to attack you), or use some sort of proxy. Your ISP probably will eventually give you an new IP but that could take a few days. The speed is slower because you are basically facing a denial of service attack. The other possibility is that your ISP is throttling your connection because they know you are using a torrent... you should enable encryption in your torrent software which will fix that problem. Hope that helps
  4. How come when I update, KIS does not download this newer version you're all talking about? If i need to go to a special site, download it, uninstall my version, reinstal the new version, then why not notify users that their software is out of date during the updating of the definitions ??
  5. Hi, Sorry, this will no doubt sound quite stupid, but I am setting up a network at work simply with 2 computers both sharing the net connection (wired not wireless). The main computer is running an client database program, which the client computer also accesses (to get client addresses etc for letters that are typed) via the network. Until now, this part of the business has been not online (I know VERY old fashioned)... but now obviously a firewall will be a must. I use KIS at home and love it. The office is upgrading the computers and someone will come in and network them, but I'm doing the net side of things. So... should I simply get 2 licenses of KIS or is there a business version that is more appropriate? Is it simply a case of accepting the client computer when KIS detects it so the main computer can let the client computer access the database program? Thanks!! :hi: J.
