  1. OK...I'm the first to admit when I'm wrong and I may have been wrong when I said it is the patch "e" causing the issue. I don't think it was the problem for me anyway. Here's why I say that...I paused protection in KIS and then after the CPU had settled down I exited KIS. I looked in my "administrative tools >services" and found MBAM running. I had just updated MBAM to the latest version right before KIS started acting up. MBAM now gives you an option for a 14 day trial of the full version which I thought I had declined. I'm assuming that MBAM's resident protection was activated and that's what made KIS go crazy with the CPU usage. I disabled MBAM in "services" and started KIS back up and the CPU usage is back to normal so for me the problem is solved for now. I'm losing my memory and KIS reminded me the only way it knew how. :b_lol1:
  2. I totally agree about the problem is with Patch "e". I haven't had any problems until now and my CPU is staying at 100% and my extra fan just kicked in to cool it down. I cannot post a GSI report because KIS is continually using all my CPU and I don't want to try because it might fry my PC. The only thing I can do at this point is uninstall KIS 2011 and go back to KIS 2010 until the issue is resolved or until version 2012 is released.
  3. You said you "already activated a license for 3 months". Does that mean it's a 3 month license or it's already been active for 3 months? If it's a 3 month license that in itself tells me it's not legit. I may be wrong and someone please correct me if I am, but Kaspersky does not sell a 3 month license. The difference in purchasing from eBay or Kaspersky Labs or an official reseller to me is peace of mind. If I bought from eBay I'd be wondering if the license is legit or not. If I buy from Kaspersky Labs or there reseller I know I'm getting a legit license and I don't have to worry.
  4. No problems accessing Facebook here, I was just on there. If your having a problem accessing a site here's a link you can try. It tells you if the site is having problems or if it's just on your end. http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
  5. DO NOT buy the download version, the majority of these are pirated and will be blacklisted. I know, I was a victim several years ago so PLEASE buy from Kaspersky Labs or a legitimate reseller. The only exception to buying any software from eBay would be if you buy the box version and only IF the seller guarantees it to be unopened and unregistered.
  6. I have AOL, IE8, Opera and Firefox installed and it doesn't affect the performance of KIS 2010 at all on my system.
  7. Thank you Don. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all !!! I hope everyone has peace, good health and prosperity in 2010.
  8. Konstantin Kelin, problem is indeed fixed. :ay: Ran full scan without any problems. Thanks Kaspersky!
  9. No conflicts with KIS 2009 or KIS 2010 and IE8 on my system, definitely compatable.
  10. Here are the screenshots of the settings richbuff suggested I try. I also have "concede resources to other applications" unchecked. Didn't make any difference, the scan still hangs and KIS freezes when I stop the scan. Only way to unfreeze is to reboot.
  11. Okay, I'll try that, but it may be tomorrow before I do. I don't want to have to reboot right now in case it doesn't work. I'm still on dialup and I'm not ready to get offline yet. It's not any one certain file it gets stuck on, it's always scanning C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents, but not any one certain file there.
  12. Tried with those settings and it still hangs. I've tried several combinations and none of them work. I've rebooted more today than I have in 2 months because of it hanging.
