Hello @Tribal Cash, unfortunately I can't explain what exactly happened. I am too little Windows/Chrome expert for that. I only have a suspicion: Usually the icons are set up by a program once during the installation and the further management is handed over to Windows. When uninstalling Chrome, which no longer worked correctly, an error seems to have occurred and the uninstall process passed incorrect data to the Windows Registry. Since the Kaspersky AddOn was also registered in Chrome, this error could have occurred regarding the Kaspersky icons. Windows reacted, but restored wrong links to the icon. Chrome negatively affected Windows here in my opinion, but did not change the KTS. That is not possible (for Chrome). The error message refers to an icon of the Kaspersky installer, the same is the case with the 'unpinned icon'. I suspect that the problem will be solved only with an un-/reinstallation of KTS, all the rest is time consuming and requires a lot of expertise. But nice to see it working again, at least partially.

Hello @Zero, the option is indeed placed a bit unfortunate. In the future this will be changed. Go to 'Settings->Performance settings->PC resource consumption' and scroll down.

Die "Plus" und die "Premium" bieten weitere Module, die Dir Arbeit abnehmen können bzw die Sicherheit Deines Systems erhöhen. Ab der "Plus" ist z. B. die Vollversion des Passwortmanagers dabei, unbegrenzter VPN-Traffic, ein Backup-Programm, Datentresor. Bei der "Premium" ist dazu noch der sonst kostenpflichtige Premium-Support dabei, der sich besonders für weniger erfahrene Nutzer eignet. Welche Optionen Du brauchst, kannst nur Du wissen. I would like to address the issue again. The SMART values displayed by the Plus are in all likelihood correct. Samsung has confirmed a bug in the firmware (the health status that can be read out via the Smart function decreases unusually quickly) of the 980/990 and is providing an update.

Hello @Tribal Cash, can you please right click on the KTS shortcut and check its properties? In the properties window you should see the option 'Other icon' (or similar). Click on it. Is 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky 21.3\avpui.exe' displayed in the next window above? (The following picture is from a German Win7. Maybe it will help you anyway).

Ein Modul, das die jeweils nötigen Cookies erlaubt, andere verbietet, ist meiner Meinung nach für Milliarden Webseiten, die sich auch noch ständig ändern, nicht machbar. Dafür gibt es zwei andere Lösungen: Laut EU-Recht müssen nicht zwingend notwendige Cookies inzwischen mit nur einem Klick deaktivierbar sein. Sogar Google hat daraufhin seine Suche geändert. Die zweite Lösung (sicherer) bietet z. B. Kaspersky mit seinem Datenschutzmodul. Die Option "Schutz vor Datensammlung" sperrt den Datenverkehr des Browsers zu den einschlägigen Datensammlern. Blockiert werden "Web-Analyse-Dienste" (z. Zt. 919 Adressen), "Werbeagenturen" (z. Zt. 2089 Adressen), "Zählpixel" für die Abruferkennung von Webseiten und Emails (z. Zt. 2620 Adressen). Dabei ist dann egal, welche Webeite Du besuchst und wie deren Cookie-Einstellungen sind. Ein Kontakt zu den unerwünschten Beigaben wird verhindert. Es wäre natürlich am einfachsten, alle Webseitenbetreiber halten sich an die EU-Vorgaben. Dann dürfen sie (ohne Nachfrage) nur noch für den Betrieb der Seite erforderliche Cookies bzw Daten speichern. Ein großer Anbieter war aber schon der Meinung, personalisierte Werbung sei ein Dienst zum Vorteil des Nutzers. Er ist nicht damit durchgekommen, aber weitere Versuche wird es sicher geben. Da springt dann hoffentlich das KL-"Datenschutzmodul" an.

Für eine schnelle Lösung solltest Du den Support kontaktieren. Als Premium-Kunde hat Du auch Anrecht auf den (für Dich kostenlosen) Premium-Support inkl. Remote-Hilfe. Hier im Forum könnten wir wie bei allen Lizenzfragen höchstens Tips geben. Meinen hast Du nun. Würde mich freuen, wenn es eine simple Lösung gibt und Du uns informierst. Die Premium ist ja noch recht neu...

Hello @IAWALL, Welcome. We can't answer license questions in a reliable way in the forum. Only the support can do that. What remains is a tip: a KTS license can be upgraded to a 'Kaspersky Plus' license. Unlike the full Plus license, however, the unlimited VPN traffic is not included. All other Plus components like Password Manager and Safe Kids are included in the upgrade. As I understand it, there is nothing to stop you from extending the KTS license first. I still see a small problem with your password manager: it should be part of the KTS. Why do you have a separate license?

Hello @Bukkdog, as you noted, it is very difficult to accurately estimate scan duration. It is first extrapolated based on the speed of the scan of the first files. This is only an estimated value. If during the scan files are detected that need more resources, their scan is delayed and pushed to the end of the scan. These are often archives and installation files, which in turn may contain packed objects. The time needed for unpacking cannot be determined in advance. Therefore, 0-98% often goes quite quickly, the rest then appears tough. If there are no packed objects on a HD (even office files or PDFs are .zip archives) the indication of the remaining time is quite accurate.

Hi @scope, ich gehe auch von einem FP aus. Spiele haben oft Routinen, die Malware ähneln. Absolut sicher kann man aber nicht sein. Auch Spielehersteller nutzen Bibliotheken, die kompromittiert sein könnten. Selbst über die "absolut sicheren" Shops von Apple und Google wurde schon Malware verteilt. Du kannst die Warnung natürlich übergehen, das bleibt Dir frei. Hallo @scope, beginnt das Verdict mit "PDM", handelt es sich um eine verhaltensbasierte Erkennung. Das Programm verhält sich wie ein noch unbekannter Exploit. Da VT die Datei üblicherweise nur nach bekannten Mustern untersucht und nicht ausführt, mag sie durchaus sauber erscheinen. Die VT-Verhaltenserkennung in einer Sandbox scheint gerade zu hängen. Wie dem auch sei, egal ob falscher oder richtiger Alarm: Du solltet Dich mit dem Support in Verbindung setzen. Bei PDM-Warnungen kann nur er helfen bzw die Datei näher analysieren.

Hello @Tribal Cash, it is possible that the icon cache has been corrupted. The most simple way would be the following: Open the 'Run' window (Windows key + 'R'). Paste 'ie4uinit -show' (without quotes) and click 'OK'. The icons will flicker briefly, with luck the missing ones will be restored. If it doesn't work, you probably have to clear the icon cache manually.

Hallo @user9, Kaspersky bietet die Basic nicht in allen Regionen an. Langfristig soll die Version eingestellt werden. Vorhandene KAV-Lizenzen behalten ihre Gültigkeit und KAV kann damit weiter betrieben werden. Ab der kommenden Version (MR9) kann eine noch gültige KAV-Lizenz für ein Upgrade auf 'Standard' benutzt werden. Die Lizenzserver werden derzeit dafür vorbereitet.

Hi @Studynx, the default KTS settings are a good balance between security and performance. However, Kaspersky offers experienced users the possibility to make deep changes. If you know exactly what the consequences are, you can turn one or the other adjusting screw for personal needs. Setting a password is never a wrong thing to do. This way, no other user who has access to your computer can change important AV settings. However, Kaspersky products also offer excellent self-protection. If this is activated (default setting), malware cannot change settings, parts of the program or the entire installation.

Hello @Studynx, if the icon is displayed pale, it always means inheritance. In my example, 'Operating system' has the 'Write' option set to 'Ask user'. The 'Startup settings', 'System files',.... inherit this setting. For inheritance it doesn't matter if 'Allow', 'Ask user' or 'Deny' is set, what is set for 'Operating system' applies by default to all options of this group. However, you can change the rule for the subgroups (or their individual components) from 'Inherit' to 'Allow' or another option. But this requires more than the basic knowledge, you can use it to make your system not only more secure but also unusable.

Hi @Studynx, to list all the differences of the groups is too long. Restrictions exist e.g. for file accesses, registry accesses (read/change/create/delete), accesses to drives/network, start of other programs or subprograms... You can compare it yourself: open 'Manage applications' and call the settings for the groups with a mouse right click (caution: don't change anything!)

Hello @Studynx, the settings in your screenhot refer to the new product line 'Kaspersky Standard/Plus/Premium'. They allow a bit more user control, e.g. the automatic mode is disabled by unchecking the 'Perform recommended actions automatically' option. This allows you to extend or restrict the rights of your installed programs. The same options exist in KTS, just in a different place (unfortunately I don't have KTS installed right now). But the settings shown in the screenshot have nothing to do with the HIPS per se. This is always active and follows rules set by Kaspersky. The difference is this: by default KTS decides what to do with a detection, in the other case you have to make the decision yourself.

Hallo @Frank Berlin 2023, willkommen. Die Entwickler sind am Problem dran und haben eine neue VPN-Version in der Mache. Das Problem tauchte unerwartet auf, selbst die aktuelle Beta-Version ist beeinträchtigt. Laut unbestätigten Berichten sind auch andere VPN-Anbieter betroffen, möglicherweise ist es kein reines Kaspersky-Problem. Wenn Du die Druckersoftware Deines Herstellers benutzt, kann es helfen, für diese das Split Tunneling zu aktivieren. Sonst hilft leider nur Abwarten.

Hallo @bazi, Kaspersky ist immer offen für Verbesserungsvorschläge. Deinen solltest Du mir aber bitte etwas näher erläutern. Das von Dir genannte AddOn wirbt mit verbesserter Privatsphäre, indem es automatisch alle Cookies erlaubt. Das ist für mich ein Widerspruch: Cookies (besonders Third-Party-Cookies) dienem oft dem Ausspähen von Nutzeraktivitäten. Verzichten kann man nicht auf alle, manche sind berechtigt und notwendig (Online-Shops, Foren-Accounts,...). Ich nehme mal an, Du möchtest die gesetzlich vorgeschriebenen Cookie-Banner umgehen und alle mit "Ja, ihr könnt meine Daten frei verwenden" beantworten. Das wäre Deine freie Entscheidung, ein AV-Hersteller kann das aber nicht für gut befinden. Je nach Deinem Kaspersky-Produkt kannst Du in den "Datenschutzeintellungen" die Option "Schutz vor Datensammlung" deaktivieren. Dann kannst Du auf Deinen Systemen das Aushorchen per Browsereinstellung "Alle Cookies erlauben" und entsprechenden AddOns gerne erlauben. Ich denke aber mal, dass Kaspersky das auch in Zukunft nicht unterstützen wird. Datenschutz ist wichtiger als Bequemlichkeit. Ich warte gerne auf Deine nähere Begründung für den Wunsch, vielleicht habe ich ihn falsch interpretiert...

There you will find the hidden subfolder 'programData', where you can find the folder 'Report': (screenshot from the 21.8.x.x, but there is no difference in the structure)
