Version 2020: Frequently asked questions.

Recommended Posts

I'm running KTS 20.0.14.1085(a) (due to internet speed issues with the current 19 builds) and I'm experiencing issues with the Chrome add-on, Chrono Download Manager. Virtually each time when I save my downloaded file to a network drive, it gets downloaded but it's not accessible and a message "Virus scan failed" appears. This doesn't happen when I download the same file directly to my HDD, only the network (NAS hosted) folders are affected. I've contacted the add-on developer but he believes it's the antivirus issue, not the add-on issue. Can anyone advise if there's anything in KTS I can change to get rid of this issue?

Try to use Leechget. I uploaded the latest version a few days ago and it works wihth Kaspersky without any conflicts. It seems to me that these two software were created for each other. Just try. THink, you will like it. mod edit:let's go with no external link on this. :)

Online Kaspersky K2020 installers are already available, but for now only for English US: KAV: http://dm.kaspersky-labs.com/en/KAV/20.0...tartup.exe KIS: http://dm.kaspersky-labs.com/en/KIS/20.0.14.1085/startup.exe KTS: http://dm.kaspersky-labs.com/en/PURE/20.0.14.1085/startup.exe SaaS (K Security Cloud): http://dm.kaspersky-labs.com/en/SAAS/20.0.14.1085/startup.exe And I think also for English GB: http://dm.kaspersky-labs.com/en-GB/
Thank you, it hasn't been here in NZ so thank you so much. I am upgrading now.

Just wondering, are you using bitlocker?

Is it possible to get it from the main download page if I set the region to "Global"?
Hi Rimanah, Do you mean: https://www.kaspersky.com/total-security ? KTS exe available, from the main d/l page, global or otherwise, is: KTS19.0.0.1088.0.1715.0. When an manual update is run it will be 19.x, not 2020. KTS 2020, commercial release has not been released. IF you wish to use KTS 2020 you need to ask Technical Support. ---- 16th July 2019, Kaspersky "subject matter expert" advised http://dm.kaspersky-labs.com/en-US_fr-CA_es-US/KIS/20.0.14.1085/, is KSEC 2020, which was commercially released 10th July 2019. Even tho the link is titled KIS, the contents of the list are for KSEC 2020. ------
  1. They further advised, atm, only KSEC 2020 Commercial release (CR) is available (all regions).
------
  1. Anyone wishing to use KIS/KAV/KTS 2020 - Technical release (TR), may make a direct request to Kaspersky Technical Support. https://my.kaspersky.com/
------ Furthermore - (they said) the way to know when KIS/KAV/KTS 2020 (CR) is available is, go to: https://help.kaspersky.com/#/b2c, IF, the product you are interested in, has 2020 in the display window, that is 2020 CR for that product. &, just to keep us all guessing, KSEC - on this page: https://help.kaspersky.com/#/b2c, does not have a "year" indicated, unlike KAV/KIS/KTS:thinking: ---

Greetings! I found out on the web, that Kaspersky has recently released 2020 version. I downloaded my product from "My Kaspersky' portal so found out there 2019 version, went to US site same version but found 2020 version at UK website, so maybe 2020 version for now is released in specific regions not all! I live in Bangladesh, didn't find my country site of Kaspersky. Takes me to India site even if I choose Global Site. So there is same 2019 version. And I want to know that on which regions Kaspersky Security Cloud is available as I download the Free version didn't support my region actually. I found out that when Kaspersky starts like the small rectangle box loading thing, I saw "2018 AO", shouldn't it be "2019 AO?" Regards,

I tried to run the update database but it didn't work for getting me into the 2020 version sadly. But really thanks for showing me the locations for the update.
specific regions Also and in addition to above comments from FLOOD : > Licences purchased on the Global Store have no regional activation restriction > Did you try this download location https://support.kaspersky.com/#s_tab2 (*) (*) Only K 2020 EN versions.

I have another question to ask, that is when I upgrade should I uninstall the current version of my Kaspersky product or just upgrade to override the current one with the new one? As I had 2019 version I didn't delete it instead download and installed 2020 version in term of presence of 2019 version. Is that OK? If I purchase a license which in used for my country and others. But I downloaded and installed Kaspersky latest product from/for Global - English will it work with the Activation Key which I purchased from my own country? Why isn't the Indian, US (and maybe other sites) updated with the 2020 version? It still exists for 2019 version I saw earlier. Only you can get easily 2020 version if entered in Support to desired product then download.

Personnaly i always suggest a clean install. Also, your license from your own country is valid for the product that you downloaded from the Global site. Most non EN Kaspersky 2020 versions will be available end August.

Hello
  1. Re: the last question
Kaspersky rolls out regions according to a schedule they know, we don't. Even when we've contacted the Technical Support Team, some of the team seem to know, others don't. Because Kaspersky have made an official announcement via the Kaspersky blog that 2020 has been released, it should be relatively soon for the commercial release to reach the majority of regions.
  1. Re: the first question, as I understand, you have an installed, licensed KTS 2019.
(if it was me) I would (& I do) uninstalled the old software - ONLY saving licence information, reboot, download new software, install new software, reboot, run manual database, run manual full scan - allow full scan to complete with nothing else running. Check Kaspersky software, configure it to your needs.
  1. Re: the second question - Berny wrote an answer, 17 hours ago, 17/07/19, and 3 minutes ago:wink:, that addresses the question.
Thanks & best regards. ts, 16:29 280719

I understand now, thanks a lot for helping me out guys at these areas. Now I will follow the steps of up gradation process anytime. And I don't think a clean Windows re-install is necessary all the time when installing clean new version of Kaspersky product,

Hello Thanks for posting back. We're very happy to help.
  1. Absolutely a clean install of Windows is not standard procedure when an upgrade of Kaspersky software is done.
  2. Reinstalling the operating system under those circumstances would be rare to really rare - not normal.
  3. However, when a major operating system upgrade is required, sometimes, it helps to uninstall the anti-virus software before the operating system upgrade.
  4. After the operating system is updated, established, re-apply anti-virus software. That is not an uncommon procedure.
Best regards.

Hello Thanks for the inquiry. Kaspersky home product licence keys/activation codes are not interchangeable, so, for example: KAV key/code cannot be used for KIS, nor for KTS, KCS etc. Irrespective of which product is installed, if the wish or need arises to change to a different product, a new licence/key must be aquired. Best regards.
