Schulte's post in Kaspersky Standard, PC Optimierung, Windows Registry Vorschläge vor der Korrektur prüfen? was marked as the answer
Hi @Wallaby53,

Schulte's post in Total Security - Ransomware protection was marked as the answer
Hello @skn8700, welcome.
All Kaspersky products for home users include protection against ransomware, so does KTS.
However, there is almost no ransomware that becomes active without any action on the part of the user. So it is also up to you to prevent an infection. Always think for a few seconds before opening an unknown object. Does it come from a trustworthy sender? Does it ask for additional rights?
This is how you can unburden your AV. None of them is 100% perfect.

Schulte's post in Startsequenz beim Booten anpassen - Ja?/ Nein? was marked as the answer
Hi @Wallaby53,

Schulte's post in Kaspersky Total Security Upgrade to new Product Line was marked as the answer
Hello @EvilScorbunny, Welcome.
The latest versions of Kaspersky software (21.8.5.452) now accept a KTS (Kaspersky Total Security) key if at least patch "a" is installed.
Your KTS becomes a 'Kaspersky Plus', but without the unlimited VPN data volume included with the 'Plus'. You get everything that the KTS had, but no more.
There will be no automatic upgrade, you will have to install it manually.

Schulte's post in Google and Kaspersky seem associated was marked as the answer
Hello @Tribal Cash,
can you please right click on the KTS shortcut and check its properties?
In the properties window you should see the option 'Other icon' (or similar). Click on it.
Is 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky 21.3\avpui.exe' displayed in the next window above?
(The following picture is from a German Win7. Maybe it will help you anyway).

Schulte's post in KTS-Schutz was marked as the answer
Hi @diwand,

Schulte's post in KIS to Total Security Activation Key was marked as the answer
Hi @steve33,
You can enter a so-called 'reserve code', which will automatically activate after the license expires. However, there have been rare reports that the actually reliable procedure did not work.
Since you are changing the product at the same time, I would personally enter the key only after the KIS license has expired. This way it is one process less (for the activation).

Schulte's post in Kaspersky Internet Security not able to detect Trojan/Win32:HighScore.AI!2!81 was marked as the answer
Hello @Nishan, Welcome.
Have you already uploaded the file to VirusTotal or a similar site?
It is possible that Kaspersky is right and Zemana reports a false positive.
Which file is reported as infected?

Schulte's post in Is my kaspersky alright ? was marked as the answer
Hello @iWoodGames, Welcome.
Kaspersky uses some techniques that make a scan faster and faster over time (iSwift, iChecker, Scan only new and changed files,...). This also explains the difference in the number of scanned files.
Purely theoretically, a scan duration in the range of seconds is possible.
What worries me a bit is the lack of internet access. This is also needed for a deeper scan.
Does the problem still exist?
Can you give us some more information about it?
Does the connection work when you temporarily disable Total Security (tray menu)?
One thing I would like to say: if the scan finds nothing, the system should be safe.

Schulte's post in VPN for Vizio TV was marked as the answer
Hello @gbp4ever, welcome.
I think on your Vizio TV can be installed an OpenVPN client (please check yourself!).
Then you can establish a VPN connection with the Kaspersky data.
This does not apply to the Free version.

Schulte's post in Why are spaces not allowed in Passwords? was marked as the answer
Hello @Bmuzammil, Welcome.
From a security point of view, there is nothing wrong with spaces.
A problem arises only during processing, because there is not only one space character. In addition to the standard (U+0020), others are common, especially in word processing (U+00A0, U+2007, U+2008).
There is also a problem if you work in a shell and have to pass the space as part of a password or path. Then you have to enter e.g. '%20' or '\ ' instead of ' '.
For these reasons many manufacturers (hardware and software) do not allow blanks.

Schulte's post in Smart Home-Monitor was marked as the answer
Hi @roland666,

Schulte's post in Block .exe in Firewall was marked as the answer
Hello @splinter, Welcome.
I can answer one of your questions:
In the Application Manager (apart from some standard programs) only those are listed which have already been started and examined. You have noticed that correctly.
But you can add programs manually, so rules can be created before the first start.
Open 'Manage Applications' and right-click on the group you want to add the program to (moving it later is also possible). After 'Add application to Group' you can search and add your program.

You can reach all three options by other means.
1. The bell icon indicates that there is a message. You can also view this by clicking on 'Details' in the main window and then 'News'.
2. gear icon for the settings -> see tray menu 'Settings'.
3. headset (support) -> see tray menu 'Support'.

Schulte's post in KIS & Microsoft Defender was marked as the answer
Hello @Kasperov,
what you are observing is the active real-time protection of KIS.
Defender opens files, creates temporary files and eventually calls subroutines (e.g. to unzip files). File-AV and the program control of KIS of course investigate what is going on.
In KIS you can create exceptions for other AV programs so that their activity or access to the file system is not monitored.
(The image is from Kaspersky Standard, but the options are also included in KIS.)
