Im Prinzip ist es ja nichts Neues. Seit Langem gibt es die -1/+3-Regel, die dem Normaluser nicht offen mitgeteilt wurde. Die Überraschung war dann groß, wenn die 2021 nicht mit der gebunkerten 2017-Lizenz aktiviert werden konnte. Dass es jetzt ein Ablaufdatum gibt, war mir auch noch nicht bekannt. Ich denke aber, dass der Support (wie seither auch) im Fall des Falles weiterhilft. Auf jeden Fall ist es so jetzt für den Käufer klarer.

Hi @Garfield, im Moment kann ich Dir leider nur empfehlen, das Popup zu ignorieren. Dort, wo es stört, must Du es wohl oder übel wegklicken. Ein anderer Weg (von der Deaktivierung des AddOns abgesehen) ist mir z. Zt. nicht bekannt. Ob es mit der kommenden MR4 eine Änderung gibt, kann vielleicht @Jowi sagen.

Hello @BigHotStud, I think valid digital signatures of the programs or modules are the best identifier. Besides, the program checks during the installation if any module has been modified. If so, it will abort with an error message. As system drivers are installed, Windows also checks if they are certified. So I would like to claim: if you have installed a KL product, it is a KL product.

Hallo @AndyT, es gibt eine gleichlautende Meldung im englischen Forum. Wenn sich dort etwas tut, werden wir berichten. In Frage kommt natürlich auch der von @Longlife angesprochene Windows-USB-Bug. Auf jeden Fall ergibt es keinen Sinn, die Protokollierung dauerhaft aktiv zu haben. Sie ist vor allem für reproduzierbare Fehler gedacht. Einschalten->Fehler reproduzieren->abschalten. Läuft sie dauerhaft “auf Verdacht” müllt sie Dir nur die HD voll. Die entstandenen GB könnten wahrscheinlich nicht ausgewertet werden.

Hello @Gaz, First: never, never buy Kaspersky licenses on Ebay! There are always licenses sold that were never intended or authorized for this purpose. You can't buy a subscription on Ebay either, but that doesn't stop some resellers from selling such licenses. The new license would have to be paid by the dealer who illegally resold the license to you. But he will surely not do that. If you don't have a contract with KL, there will be no further costs. But it would be very helpful for all users if you report this to the support.

Hi @Garfield, KL fasst sich bei den Funktionen des AddOns relativ kurz: Damit der Sichere Zahlungsverkehr, die Bildschirmtastatur, der Anti-Banner, und der Schutz vor Datensammlung korrekt funktionieren, muss die Erweiterung Kaspersky Protection in Ihrem Browser installiert und aktiviert sein. Da die Interaktion zwischen Browser und anderen Programmen zurecht extrem eingeschränkt wurde, dient das AddOn als “Vermittler” zwischen Deinem KL-Produkt und dem aktiven Browsertab. Das AddOn wertet Informationen von KIS aus und zeigt so z. B. die Bewertung des URL-Advisors an. Das kleine Icon könnte zum Start der virtuellen Tastatur dienen. Hast Du bitte einen Screenhot? (Habe das KL-AddOn seit Jahren nicht intalliert, kann also keine eigenen Erfahrungen beitragen.)

Hallo @Garfield, früher konnte man den Hinweis mal abschalten. Beim Support wird wohl geprüft, ob die Option wieder eingeführt wird. Auch im englischen Forum gibt es entsprechende Posts. Kannst Du bitte mal im Browser vorübergehend das Kaspersky-AddOn deaktivieren? Schutz verlierst Du damit nicht, nur etwas Komfort.

First, however, the malware must be removed.

Hello @PeDrum, there is no option to bypass the VPN as long as it is active. As @Flood and Flood's wife already described, the VPN can be activated by calling a certain site. There is no option to bypass the VPN by visiting certain pages. You have to do that manually by disabling the VPN if needed. I can understand your concern, I would have needed that too.

Hi @Timur Born, I don't know exactly what format is used for .pdf. It surely depends on how images, graphics or other content are embedded. In any case, these files are analyzed when they are opened and unpacked.

Hello @Timur Born, the assumption is correct. .docx or .xlsx are .zip archives. You can open them e.g. with 7-ZIP and analyze the different components.
