Escalation to petition (please support me if you agree) Subject: Feedback on WebView2 Runtime Usage in Kaspersky Plus Dear Kaspersky Team, I’m a long-time user of your products and recently upgraded to Kaspersky Plus (version 21.22.7.466). I’ve noticed that the application now relies on Microsoft’s WebView2 Runtime, and I wanted to share my concern. While I understand the need for modern UI frameworks, the use of WebView2 has introduced multiple background processes and increased resource usage on my system. This change feels unnecessary for a security product, especially when simpler, more efficient interfaces have worked well in the past. I’d appreciate it if future versions offered an option to disable WebView2-based components or provided a lightweight alternative for users who prioritize performance and minimalism. Thank you for your continued commitment to security — I hope this feedback helps improve the user experience.

I Already find the solution for this and for hundreds of other software bugs and bad behavior in my 40 years professional life. For me, Kaspersky is doing this the wrong way, but I don't go argue with you. Did you have fun? None of my duplicates are erased. Even so, it congratulated me for erasing duplicates totalling 0.0 KB of disk space.

Thank you for posting back, the clarification & question(s). **IF the *only* reason (you're)) purchasing the VPN is to have the torrent client running on the NAS and routing only the traffic to/from the NAS through the VPN client (using VPN Director)*And* to do that (you) have to be able to select a *server* And IF (you) currently have an active paid Kaspersky subscription you may wish to log a request with Kaspersky - ask Kaspersky Customer Service https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts - to ask their expert VPN team - on the support page, select Email, fill in the template as shown & select (your) Kaspersky application from the drop-down-list(A); if there's difficulty logging the case bc (you) don't currently have Plus OR Premium -explain to support - you're in the process of *upgrading* & post back the Incident request number please - it's prefixed with INC0000? VPN protocols (OpenVPN, WireGuard) are available for both Kaspersky Premium & Kaspersky Plus subscriptions. There is no option to *choose a server for torrenting when creating a configuration file* Select Protocol Select Location Create Key Download file -> Upload / import OR *copy* / paste the config file to the router. Thanks for taking the time and effort to sort out my questions 🙂 It´s time to update my Kaspersky subscription and instead of spending money on an additional VPN subscription I´m thinking of getting Kaspersky Plus or Premium that includes unlimited VPN. I would set up Kaspersky VPN on my router (running Asuswrt-Merlin) to be used when torrenting, having the torrent client running on my NAS and route only the traffic to/from my NAS through the VPN client (using VPN Director). The configuration for the router would have to be for a server allowing P2P, right? Looking at the pictures on the blog and previous posts here on the forum I don´t see the option to choose a server for torrenting when creating a configuration file, just country selections. Is it only Premium that enables torrent router configuration, would it not be available with a Plus subscription? Vielen Dank für die schnelle Antwort. Ich benutze Adguard und Kaspersky ohne Probleme seit Anfang 2024 und BSOD hatte ich noch nie. Ich habe gestern Kaspersky und Adguard neuinstalliert (erst Kaspersky, dann Adguard) und seitdem ist die Warnung nicht wieder aufgetaucht. Wenn es keine Sicherheitsbedenken durch die Benutzung von Adguard oder Beeinträchtigungen in Kaspersky gibt, dann bin ich ja beruhigt.

Hallo @Wahnfried1883, willkommen. Adguard ist erst seit kurzem auf der Liste. Nicht weil sie sich behindern, sondern weil es im Zusammenspiel der beiden zu BSODs kam. Kaspersky und Adguard wollten das Problem gemeinsam angehen, ob das bereits erledigt ist, ist mir nicht bekannt. Wenn es bei Dir zu keinem BSOD kommt, kannst Du die Warnung ignorieren. Vielleicht wird sie bald wieder aufgehoben.

Ich nutze seit einiger Zeit die Backup-Funktion von Kaspersky Plus und bin soweit zufrieden damit. Leider dauert das Erstellen eines Vollbackups (ca. 140 GB) extrem lange, nämlich satte zweieinhalb Stunden. Das Gleiche gilt für die tägliche (inkrementelle ?) Sicherung, die jedes Mal ganze 15-20 Minuten beansprucht, auch wenn gar keine oder kaum Dateien geändert wurden. Meine Frage: Ist das normal und kann man das irgendwie beschleunigen? Das Wiederherstellen von Dateien bzw. das Durchsuchen im Backup ist ebenfalls quälend langsam. Des Weiteren ist mir aufgefallen, dass die Wiederherstellung eines Backups ohne installiertes Kaspersky nicht möglich ist, obwohl Kaspersky einen Wiederherstellungsassistenten ins Backup mit einfügt, der eine Wiederherstellung eben auch ohne Kaspersky ermöglichen soll. Hat jemand vielleicht Erfahrungen zur Backup-Funktion?

Hallo in die Runde, ich benutze seit Jahren Kaspersky in Verbindung mit Adguard für Windows ohne nennenswerte Probleme. Seit der Aktualisierung auf die neueste Programmversion (Kaspersky Plus 21.22.7.466a) meckert Kaspersky, dass Adguard mit Kaspersky nicht kompatibel ist und drängt einen zur Deinstallation. Mich würde jetzt interessieren, worin genau die Inkompatibilität besteht und inwieweit das Auswirkungen auf die Schutzwirkung von Kaspersky hat. Ich würde mich nur ungerne von Adguard oder Kaspersky trennen. Hat vielleicht jemand Erfahrungen dazu und benutzt Adguard in Verbindung mit Kaspersky? Kann ich die Meldung von Kaspersky bezüglich Adguard einfach ignorieren oder muss ich mir da Sorgen machen? Danke im Voraus.

Нет. Такого не имеется. Только, как писал выше, с удаленным доступом, в том числе и с anyDesk, скриншотами яндекса и утилитой Ditto (история буфера обмена). Все это прекрасно работало раньше. Именно выглядит, как вы отвечали выше, как блокировка при безопасном браузере. Но он не открыт. Причем поэксперементировал на ноуте подключаясь сам к себе с и без безопасного браузера - поведение яндекса именно такое же, но Хром в черный экран не уходит. Т.е. что-то близко, но иное.

If they are "constantly" running and you don't have any app opened who uses webview2 runtime, you have serious problems in your system. Webview2 runtime processes are not intended to run all the time in the background, unless you have an app who needs them.

Screenshot from W11. A huge number of webview processes, started not by Kaspersky. They are constantly running in the background. W11 is contraindicated for you. 😄

Torrent router configuration is via Openvpn, only available to Premium subscribers this includes manual country selection, but, we may not be clear on what (you're) asking, so IF (you) don't mind - please restate / redefine the query & post back ? Torrenting - country selection - via the actual vpn is paid - premium only - where there's a crown👑 - it represents paid/premium (in all Kaspersky software) Thank you🙏 Flood🐳+🐋

Do you know if it´s possible to get a router configuration for torrenting or is it only possible to choose country for the virtual server?

@alexkd Проблема наблюдается только с удаленным доступом? Просто есть сообщения о падениях проводника при вызове контекстного меню, вроде проявляется похожим образом с черным экраном. Причина в конфликте с XnViewMP Shell Extension, помогает переустановка этого приложения без Shell Extension. Подробнее в этой теме.

All of them running from "c:\programdata\Kaspersky... \win10" I'm waiting for this update to K Plus 21.22.7.466 in my other PC's, to verify if this happens on all of them (2pc's + 2 laptop) People still using 21.21.6 don't have this issue, because custom webview2 folder is not present. I'd like to have feedback from people running latest Kaspersky in Windows 11, too. Thanks for your help.
