Total security [databases] not auto updating

Go to solution Solved by Wesly.Zhang,

I am having same problem. The check list is useless as when I click settings, there is no performance choice. My auto update is on auto. I have been through all the settings, I have not changed anything, I have unchecked gaming mode, even though it has been updating the data base with it on, I now have to update manually.

Hello @lovs2build

Welcome!

  1. Are you referring to (1) Kaspersky application Version *auto* update or (2) Kaspersky application Patch *auto* update, (3) Kaspersky application Database *auto* update?
  2. Which *useless* check list → post a full screen image?
  3. Does the same *auto update*  issue persist in v21.3.10.391 with Patch(a)
  4. Does the same *useless* check list issue persist in v21.3.10.391 with Patch(a)
  5. The topic heading “Total security not auto updating”  & the statement “I have unchecked gaming mode, even though it has been updating the data base with it on, I now have to update manually”, together, do not make sense…. 🤔
  6. Read/implement Update Issues checklist tutorial by @richbuff, does that help?
  7. Check system for any software incompatibility issues → if any are found, resolve then recheck?

Thank you🙏

! Data base,

2 the check list from link on side of page

Link

3 it started with 21.2.16.590 ©

4 the useless check list is here on your support site one I link above, there is no performance settings in total security.

5 I have had it on without any problems updating even turned off it does not auto update.

6 LMAO that is useless checklist I am referring too, in total security it is another location. I checked this before making post trying to self fix this, your help/checklist either is not for total security, even though it says it is, or is in need of updating and linked with screen shots, there is no performance settings in total security. Even the “ Enable Log Non Critical Events ‘ “ When I click Settings > Additional > there is no Reports and quarantine and the logging again is in another location, it is on MAIN screen MORE TOOLS>reports.

7 none

On a side not I did check the log files (again not where your help files shows it be be) and it shows checking but no updates yet it shows in the program that virus data base needs an update. It just isn’t auto downloading I have to choose manual each time.

Hello @lovs2build

You’re most welcome!

  1. To disabuse you of your incorrect thinking: everywhere you’ve written “you/your”, you’re referring to Kaspersky.
  2. Please remember the Kaspersky Community is populated with people just like you, all regular users of Kaspersky software → all volunteers, none of us on Kaspersky’s payroll; there’s a small contingent of Kaspersky employees, identifiable by the words: Kaspersky employee, beside their names.
  3. Where we write “full screen image?”, that actually means full screen image(s), not a portion.
  4. Which checklist, we cannot see a List, you have not posted a link?
  5. Your image 2, where is that from?
  6. Does the same *auto update*  issue persist in v21.3.10.391 with Patch(a)?
  7. Does the same *useless* check list issue persist in v21.3.10.391 with Patch(a)?
  8. We strongly recommend you log a request with Kaspersky Technical Support, use the Database update issues, Automatic/scheduled update does not start → Support will request Logs, Traces & other Data, they will guide you.
  9. Furthermore, to address any *useless* documentation issues, for Kaspersky documentation, not Kaspersky Community documentation, we strongly recommend you raise a Feedback, I have a complaint request → share your illuminated review of their “useless” documentation, the Support team will be delighted to assist you.

Note: the Webdav option will possibly lead you to more documentation, you’d assess as *useless*, don’t use it; use a Cloud service instead.

Thank you🙏

I only used your as your software and I clearly was not “ everywhere you’ve written “you/your”, you’re referring to Kaspersky and I fail to see why this matters?? Are you a grammar teacher??? Why are you even replying? I answer the first posters questions I mean WHY post this?? I thought this was answered by people who were qualified to answer questions and solve problems as I have posted another problem while back about a bug that was since been fixed why i thought I post here again.

Each of the first posters questions are answered in order they asked, with 1, 2 ,3 etc the 2nd picture clearly says above it, it is link from side of the page on THIS PAGE here is FULL SCREEN SHOT.

FULL screen shots? Not posted a link??? I did 3 times and screen shot of said link. I posted relevant screen shots, of linked page, they clearly show what I am talking about as the support link https://community.kaspersky.com/topic/show?tid=6392&fid=14 clearing shows TOTAL SECURITY and other screens shots do not show proper places for settings they are asking you to check, why the useless link comment.

Sorry to upset you or hurt your feelings, I will contact support via proper means as I do not need / want grammar education because I refer to you as “your” when you clearly knew what I was talking about, again I am sorry for not being more clear and not understanding this is not support Kaspersky  , again I am sorry and did not mean to be disrespectful!

@lovs2build Welcome. In the meantime you could try to  reinstall  on top your Kaspersky product + reboot ?

Download links are located here https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads#update-product

After reinstalling it seems to have updated data base however this morning when I turned PC on again it is not auto updating. Here is screen shots.

This is all there is in reports.

This check list is for internet security NOT total security. The things to check do not match, like

check system date/time correct, then Settings > Additional > Network > Proxy server >

Are you on battery or main power? Settings > Performance > uncheck Disable scheduled tasks.

Hello,

Could you try to restore the KL Product settings to default?

Settings → Manage Settings → Restore.

Any better after that?

Regards.

OMG soon as I did that it started updating on it’s own. THANK YOU! I will monitor and check over next few days. Thanks again!
