Youtube URLs copypasted in Discord are not blocked

My kid bypass the Youtube filter used by navigators by copypasting the URL in Discord. How to prevent that and still permitting him to use Discord please ?

Discord on Windows 10. For info, as he’s not local admin, I think the Discord updates self install in %appdata% instead of Program Files.

• Please post a video of all the steps your son is using to circumvent KSK → we’ll then try to replicate the problem & see if it matches a known issue, whereby KSK cannot manage links accessed by “piggybacking” on other apps🤔

Also, please let us know:

1. Your son’s age?
2. Windows 10 OS build?
3. KSK version? 
4. Discord version? 

• And, please log a case with Kaspersky Technical Support, fill in the Application malfunction, Other template, include:

1.  A detailed history
2. What caused the problem?
3. Did you try to solve the problem? How?
4. Text from an error message? Screenshot? Video?
5. Community topic URL?

• Support may request data & logs, they will guide you:

Can you explain the situation where links cannot be managed?  - “KSK cannot manage links accessed by “piggybacking” on other apps”

It seems over the last month we too are having issues with blocking access to YouTube.  Both by categories and specific URLs.  I was thinking it was specific system issue but maybe someone found a workaround and hasn’t shared with the siblings yet…. :)  Thx.

“KSK cannot manage links accessed by “piggybacking” on other apps”, the base application, allows forbidden sites, for example porn, to be searched & accessed, this has been tested with Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, Discord & other similar apps. 

Please provide specific information, regarding “ over the last month we too are having issues with blocking access to YouTube.  Both by categories and specific URLs”

1. Your child’s birth year? 
2. Device name & OS version your child uses: Windows, Android, MAC, iOS?
3. KSK version? 
4. Screen prints of the applied blocks?

Windows is almost always the last Windows 10 version with the latest updates. Discord and KSK are up-to-date as well.

I won’t record videos. Just replicate the issue yourself , it’s easy : A Youtube link is blocked in Google Chrome. Just copy/paste the URL in Discord : The video is not blocked. Maybe you’ll answer that Discord has no parental control. You’re right, that’s why I bought KSK to have the parental control feature outside of each application.

Btw Microsoft Edge Chromium brower seems do be ignored by KSK.

Or maybe the solution is simply just to inform customers about applications supported (or not supported) by KSK. Like an article in a Knowledge Base.

KSK, Web activity monitoring → Safe search & YouTube filtering, applies when accessed via Supported browsers, not applications.

1. FYI, we’ve already replicated the issue, however, that's irrelevant; we're not logging a case, our children don't use Discord, they think it's rubbish. 
2. FYI, if you think a KB article will assist, share that using the Feedback, I have a suggestion template, with Kaspersky Technical Support. 
3. In our tests, KSK manages Edge Chromium exactly as designed; if you have examples & are prepared to provide information to allow us to test, we’ll happily do so, but we don’t have time to try to guess what the issues are. 
4. FYI, the Community is made up of users of Kaspersky software (like you) , all who give their time freely, to help other Community members (like you). There's a small team of Kaspersky employees - all of whom are clearly identifiable, bc, their profile shows "Kaspersky Lab Employee".

Safe Kids checks and blocks the traffic only in the supported browsers. You need to block the applications that can be used as browsers, such as Discord.
