Kaspersky blocking facebook games

Go to solution Solved by Flood and Flood's wife,

I have been using Kaspersky for at least 10 years. All of a sudden Kaspersky is blocking me from accessing Games I play on facebook. I've just upgraded to Kas Premium and of course none of the instructions have been updated, and all the user interface is changed so trying to find exclusions and parental controls is not an easy task. I know its blocking because if I pause protection, I can get in. How do I find out why they are being blocked, from loading, and change it. Everything worked fine until a couple months ago. I never thought it was a kaspersky update that stopped them from loading.

I was using Chrome and Firefox browsers in Windows 11 when They both stopped loading a couple months ago. I downloaded Brave, and it worked until yesterday, when I switched to Kas Premium. I finally paused protection, and all 3 browsers will load the game.

Hello @Rotten

Welcome!

  1. Just a little bit confused about 'parental controls' in the old version, is the issue to do with Kaspersky Safe Kids?
  2. IF it's original Kaspersky & Kaspersky Premium blocking Facebook Games - in the Kaspersky Reports - are there any events that show the blocks - IF 'yes', post a full screen screen-print please - we need to see what you see, so we can help?
  3. May we know the name of the Facebook game, so we can test please?
  4. Exclusions can be applied in a number of ways; Safe browsing is a starting point.
  5. Just for your information - Brave is not supported, refer: Kaspersky Premium, browser support

Please post back?

Thank you?

1  I dont know. I dont use any safe browsing,or child protection. I want to go anywhere I want, with out kaspersky blocking my access. They can clean up the mess later.

2 I cant see the reports, where are they burried? I googled "where is the reports window in Kaspersky", nothing they list is on my screen. Open the protection pull down??? No such thing I can see.

3 The game is a russian game called hero wars. It shows up as mobaheros.

4 I only used brave because It got me in the game. That has stopped since I started the new version of Kas.

Thanks flood. this should not be this hard to use.

Hello @Rotten

Thank you for posting back & the information! Agreed; this should not be so hard, let's see why it is!

Sorry for the delay, we hit a few roadblocks?

  1. Re: Reports (see images), open Kaspersky, select Security (from the list on the left-hand-side of the GUI), select Reports (top right of GUI). In Reports - use the Search field (3) to search for any block events or manually search (4) the reports IF there's any events - SAVE the report, upload to any cloud service of your choice, for example GoogleDrive, MegaDrive, IceDrive, DropBox & post the sharelink please?
  2.  Re "The game is a Russian game called hero wars. It shows up as mobaheros." Hmmm, ok, well, we found FB mobaheros web page with a bunch of mobaheros photos, but no game & a link to mobaheros website, which actually leads to a Chinese porn website?; so; we started again, finally we found FB hero wars; like you we can get the game working using Brave & we can also get it working using Edge *AFTER* we made some changes to Kaspersky, can't get it working using Chrome & have not tested Firefox.
  3.  ?@Rotten, when "Kaspersky is blocking me" happens, what do you actually see on screen - can you post a screen print please?
  • ?We'd like @Wesley.Zhang to test it, he's very good with games; Wesley, if you're around & have time please, Happy New Year?, can you get FB hero wars working in Chrome, Edge & FF without any mods to Kaspersky 21.8 please?

Hello @Rotten

You're most welcome!

Thank you for posting back, your careful analysis & the data.

  • ?Don't feel *stupid*,  what is stupid ioho, is where Kaspersky developers have decided to bury the Reports - some of the MR8 design decisions defy logic!?

3. Excellent, same as us - in case you're wondering why we didn't tell you our results: (1) in the 1st instance not being able to find the game was a tad confusing, (2) finding the porn was distracting?, (3) finally getting onto the game using Brave was fun BUT, neither Mrs F nor I are gamers which is why we were hoping Wesley would jump in & test the game..., but we've played enough of the game to get a result & your results match ours so we can move to the next stage, go to 5. below - after pausing at 4. for well-deserved praise

4. You have, well done you?

5. ?As a test only, (IF this process works, we'll get you to configure exclusions, so the Kaspersky app functionality is not impacted), go to:

  • Kaspersky Premium, Network settings: select Security, (List - RHS of app) scroll down to & select Network settings, UNCHECK - Inject script into web traffic to interact with web pages, select Continue, select Save, select Confirm.
  • Staying in Kaspersky Premium, Network settings, go to: Encrypted connections scan, CHECK/TICK Do not scan encrypted connectionsselect Continue, select Confirm.

image.thumb.png.6fec4fe89bee333d52a55216c8312596.png

  • Shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not Restart, power on by pressing the power button, login, make sure K-Premium is running, test mobaheroes, for Firefox - is it working, for Edge - is it working, for Chrome - is it working?

Post back the outcome please?

 Thank you?

Bingo!  That did it. All 3 browsers working.

LOL @Rotten,

You're most welcome?!

Thank you for posting back & confirming the changes worked, however, did you notice: ?As a test only, (IF this process works, we'll get you to configure exclusions, so the Kaspersky app functionality is not impacted)?

We still have work to do, why, because those changes above have disabled significant Kaspersky Premium features, we're now going to reverse those changes & apply specific configurations as a workaround & *hopefully* get the same result, so, ready to rock-and-roll:

  1. Open Kaspersky Premium, select the Settings icon⚙ (lower LHS of the GUI), scroll thru the list to & select Manage settings, select Export, save the configuration file (see image)

  2. go to: Kaspersky Premium, Network settings: select Security, (List - RHS of app) scroll down to & select Network settings, CHECK/TICK -?Inject script into web traffic to interact with web pages, select Continue, select Save, select Confirm.

  3. Staying in Kaspersky Premium, Network settings, go to: Encrypted connections scan, CHECK/TICK  -?Scan encrypted connections upon request from protection componentsselect Continue, select Confirm. ( 2 & 3 image combined)

  4. Scroll down to Trusted addresses - add apps.facebook.com, select Save, select Save, select Confirm(see image)

  5. Go to & select Security (from list, LHS of GUI), select the Settings icon⚙ (upper RHS of GUI), select Safe Browsing, scroll down to Advanced settings, Do not scan web traffic from trusted URLs, add apps.facebook.com, select Ok, select Ok, select Save, select Confirm
  6. Staying in Safe Browsing, scroll down to Advanced settings, Do not scan web traffic from trusted URLs, add https://apps.facebook.com/mobaheroes/select Ok, select Save, select Confirm. (5 & 6 image combined)

#1 I knew there was a catch! lol

#2 After changes, it works in Firefox, but not chrome or brave. I have edge shut off.

#3 Trusted URL's would not let me type "apps.facebook" in, I had to copy and paste it for some reason.

#4 Did you want me to send the config file anywhere?

  • Thanks 1

Hello @Rotten

Thank you for posting back!

  1. LOL! Yup, gotta keep you on your toes!
  2. Interesting, thank you! So, as already mentioned, Brave is not supported; please test Edge - it's important! We tried to get Russia to test but FB is banned in Russia, so it's just you, me & Mrs F (unless we palm you off to support, which we're trying to avoid, for your sake).
  3. The URL is apps.facebook.com, is that what you typed? We don't type anything if we can copy & paste - less chance of mistakes - see gif 1 for correct URLimage.thumb.gif.7fc9372c7f32faf3eda1828219dce3fa.gif
  4. Gif 2 shows apps.facebook - typed in, which worked for us, but it's not a correct URL, so hopefully, that's not what you've configured in any of your modifications? image.thumb.gif.eaf6a869b17ae18e6fca62377cc239f7.gif
  5. No, thanks. The config file is a backup of (your) Kaspersky app before we made these changes; if things went pear-shaped it'd be easy to restore to original config & import that file. It's a good habit to have / use when you're working with your Kaspersky software.

Please post back?

Thank you?

  1. The situation has changed. All browsers will load to 100% but the game will not open.

Hello @Rotten

Thanks for the update!

We're still waiting for the Russian expert to provide feedback, he said he would 'eventually'?

  1. Has there been any changes on or to the computer, the software on the computer & or the browsers?
  2. Either uninstall Kaspersky software, do not check any check boxes *other than Save License information only* & then download a new installer & start again OR log a support request, on the support page: https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts, select either Chat or Email, then fill in Application malfunction, Other template; please include any screen images of the error & a detailed history. Support may request logs, traces & other data; they will guide you.

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?
Thank you?

1  yes, there was the weekly Windows 11 update. Nothing else I know of.

2  I'll remove kaspersky and start fresh. Maybe kas has adjusted for the new        update.???

3 be back again, thanks.

  1. Firefox, Chrome, and Edge all load to 100% but fail to run.
  2. Will start a ticket.

Hello @Rotten

Thank you for the update!

  1. All loading now is a change.
  2. Please don't include Brave in (your) report to Kaspersky, you will be wasting their time.

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?
