Incompatibility with Sandboxed Web Browsers with Sandboxie Software

Recommended Posts

Sandboxie is a well known sandbox software that was made open-source recently.

I found out that a process of Kaspersky, plugins_nms.exe, causes sandboxed browsers to malfunction, probably due to Kaspersky Protection browser extension. The sandbox process fails to terminate due to Kaspersky’s self defense module. Self defense has to be disabled in order to terminate the sandboxed process.

Both Edge and Chrome will struggle once sandboxed due to this process.

Hello @TheDrunkenBard

  1. Which Kaspersky Security Cloud (KSC) version patch(x) is installed →  on the Windows taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About
  2. Is KSC Premium or Free?
  3. Which Windows OS version & build → in Windows Search🔎 type   winver → press enter, a small popup window will show the information?

  4. Have any exclusions been applied?

  5. In KSC Reports, are there any Sandboxie & or browser events? If “yes”, save the Report & attach to your reply?

Thank you🙏
