Yes, I will test by manually redoing my settings (for applications, scans, exclusions, etc...)

Can I configure certain modules, such as disabling Email, etc. (those I don't use) ?
Or is it better to test with everything set to default ?

Thanks

Hello

I've set up updates like this

KIS.thumb.PNG.8f2db5550019e0873062b2a980d7fbe4.PNG

Normally, an update check should be performed 3 minutes after starting K, right ?
The Hours settings is for ?

But in the reports, there's nothing, no trace of an update check

KIS2.thumb.PNG.6d3eb9b13e68b87f21b675c164665266.PNG

There's a problem, right ?

Thanks

Hello @Flood and Flood's wife

Thanks for your help
Yes, I checked everything to be sure
And no trace, even just of an update search

The Hours settings is for what (in update settings, screen above) ?

Thanks

Hi @tistou77,

You're welcome!

The  Databases update schedule 'Hours' field - gives the option to run the update task *every* Hour, but the Run every (2) component of the Hourly schedule may be confusing -> setting the Hourly schedule up to 12 OR 24hrs - yeah OK, but 23000 OR 50000 OR 400 hours OR😵 doesn't make a whole lot of sense (to us); sadly the documentation is pretty light on information (ioo):  Paramètres de la mise à jour

Question, since all (your) tests & checks & resets - has 21.21 also been *fully* uninstalled - saving *only* License & Secret vault (if that is used) - all other check boxes are CLEAR - empty, at the end of the *uninstall* power OFF the machine, we use Shutdown, others use Restart, power back on & OR login, download a *new* 21.21 & start again?

Merci🙏

@Flood and Flood's wife

I found some information on the Kaspersky website (for older versions) and if I understood correctly, for the "Every hour" setting,
If for the Hours setting, it says 10:00 AM and 1 hour for the "Run every" setting,
then the search will be performed every hour starting at 10:00 AM (and therefore not before)

I don't see what the Postpone.... setting is for if the PC (or Kaspersky) is launched before the specified time

Otherwise, I reinstalled Kaspersky 21.21, and the update ran automatically without any problems after installation (with all the default settings)
Either the reinstallation fixed the problem, or a setting is breaking the automatic update
I set it to "every hour"

I had this problem with a software that Kaspersky was blocking. The software's launch was delayed by 1 minute with a disabled setting in K, and only if Kaspersky was closed and reopened

Thanks for your help
I will see if the problem persists, if so, it will be a setting (or bug with setting) in K therefore

Correctly, with the settings ‘Chaque heure’ and ‘Heure 15:00’  the update will take place every hour  starting from 3pm.

I set the update to "After application launch" for test and waited 2 minutes
After 10 minutes, there was no trace in the report

The problem therefore appears to be a setting in Kaspersky that is causing updates to be buggy

I'll retest by restoring all the settings to their defaults, just to be sure

The problem still exists, but no problem with 21.20
I'll try reinstalling K and leaving everything at default for today (just set the updates to every hour)

If it persists, go back to 21.20 until it's fixed

EDIT : No one has said it, but is there at least some information in the report about an automatic update search?

And is there a dev present who could indicate tests to be done ?
Like "emulating" automatic updating, and having a log file or other

Contacting support (who are just intermediaries) is not an option, apart from asking me for a GSI, I'll have nothing else

Thanks

And what about trace files? Enable application tracing and save changes -> reproduce the issue -> disable tracing and save changes -> create and save report -> send this archive and the GSI log to customer service.

Default settings: 15 minutes after launching the Kaspersky app + more than two hours after the last update. If both conditions are true - the update check should be started automatically.

@AlexeyK

Thanks for infos,
I can do the traces, but I'd prefer to send them directly to a developer
Or watch it myself, if I don't need internal software to interpret it

I'm still waiting for support to get back to me to let me know that a bug I discovered has been fixed (fixed for 1 or 2 years...).
Luckily, I was in contact with a developer on this forum who informed me of the resolution

Trust in support is... Let's say...

Are you sure that it was the developer?) It's almost impossible to contact them directly (with rare exceptions - KVRT/KRD, for example).

With what he told me and provided me, yes I am sure (but maybe a "tech", "employee" or something, I don't know)

I even had the "gall" to ask support about the status of this bug, and they told me it was still ongoing...
I told them that "this bug" had been resolved for a few months, and they replied, "Indeed, the person you were in contact with just confirmed it to us."

Thanks to him again, by the way

I therefore no longer have confidence in the support (like many others, seeing the feedback on various forums)
Really a shame, by the way

Is it no longer possible to get 21.20 so I can retest ?
The 21.20 installer updates directly to 21.21

Really informed person. Perhaps that was Eugene Kaspersky himself, who knows. 😄

Well, good luck for you with finding the issue solution!

It was another username😁
It was easy for them to track the issue with the INC number

Look, there is tistou77 in the thanks (if still present, haven't looked for a long time 😁) partly related to this bug (or maybe something else I don't remember anymore...)

Otherwise, I can't be the only one with this "bug", but if it's related to a setting, it's going to be complicated
