Are you smarter than engineers?
Every beginer know that 2 AV is not good for your protection and also for pc resources. Its big overkill.

Thank you for your post.  I found it slightly insulting.  I have already explained and documented in this topic that the other product is not a true A/V.

No, I am not smarter than engineers of any description, but I have disinfected many computers over the years and have been UNITE-certified as a malware removal specialist and then promoted to malware response instructor at Bleeping Computer.

We concur that running two genuine antivirus apps simultaneously is foolish. The other product is not a genuine antivirus. It has been designed to enhance the protection provided by a genuine antivirus by targeting what I term "nuisance ware."

I regret that you are offended by my comments, but they are, in fact, mainstream.  If you go back to my earlier post that you condemned and actually read and follow the links, you might be enlightened.

If not, then we will have to agree to respectfully disagree.

Hi again, everyone following.  I did get a reply from K-Support Tier 2 this morning.  They misunderstood my complaint; at least, I think they did.  They gave me a bunch of links to install K products via the command line to avoid removing that other product before K installation.

I will send a copy of that K-Support email to anyone via PM.  I am now aware that sharing links in this Forum is not acceptable.  Below is my response this morning to the latest email from K-Support.

Thank you for your reply.  It seems my request has been misunderstood.  Kaspersky Premium Version 21.17.7.539 was successfully installed on my two computers over a week ago.  I uninstalled Malwarebytes Premium to allow the installations to proceed.  When KP was successfully installed on both computers, I then reinstalled Malwarebytes Premium.

My issue is that the warning of an "incompatible application" appears on my Home screen and cannot be dismissed.   If I "Show" the app, it says "Malwarebytes 3.x - 4.x."  I then have the option to "Remove" or "Skip".  If I select "Skip", I get two options: "Back" and "Keep."  If I select "Keep", the warning remains.  See the attached screenshot.

I want the option to permanently dismiss that warning on the home screen.  It is MY choice, as the user, to determine what I consider to be the optimal security configuration for my computers.

I have configured exceptions in both programs and disabled Malwarebytes from registering in the Windows Security Center.  I see no conflicts and no excess CPU or Memory usage.  I am a former Bleeping Computer Malware Response Instructor and ranked as an "Expert" on the Malwarebytes Forums, so I am very familiar with computer security.

PLEASE respect the user's choice.  l have been warned.  I have considered that warning.  I have decided that I want to keep Malwarebytes.  That is my right, and KP should respect that.  I should be able to "Ignore" or "Dismiss" that warning.

I've been following your topic with interest, even though sometimes it wasn't directly related to Kaspersky.

Also to write something off-topic:
You judge the capabilities of an AV by whether it is listed in the AV-C tests. This can be an indication, but it doesn't have to be.
In AV-C, a test participant who wants to be included in the one-year test suite (and can then advertise it) has to pay to participate. Around 25 of the best-known manufacturers are always invited (including Malwarebytes, according to AV-C). Some refuse to participate, but you have to accept that. Sometimes AV-C also includes vendors in an individual test at its own expense, e.g. MBAM in the 'Real-World Protection Test July-October 2022'. You can therefore assume that it is a 'real' AV. However, this does not say anything about the quality of protection...

Note:
I have sporadic contact with Andreas Clementi, the founder and CEO of AV-C. We have already exchanged some tips and thoughts.

I am pleased to make your acquaintance online.  In a previous post in this topic to which @nexon objected, I did cite an expert opinion (link provided, sorry) that a genuine AV is complemented by another class of anti-malware programs.  That post also provides a link to a post by an authority on that other product on its own Forums that stipulates it is NOT a genuine AV program.

That other product may claim to be, but it is not substantiated by the facts.  In this case, I surmise that the other product would not submit to AV-Comparatives Lab testing because their misleading advertising would get clobbered with the impartial fact that it is not capable of providing respectable AV-level protection.

There is regrettably a growing consensus among those recognized as having expertise in personal home computer security that a paid AV is superfluous for Windows 10 and 11 home users, provided it is "hardened."  You can do a Google search on "harden Windows Defender" to determine the veracity of my comment.

Personally, I want maximum protection, not "adequate" AV protection.  I do NOT share that opinion, obviously, because I am a new KP client and, before that, always had another recognized AV product.

I am happy to keep everyone updated.  I just heard back from K-Support today and will report their response to my last email to them in my next post.  First, I have to go and look after my dog.

Hi everyone.  As I suspected, K-Support appeared to have misunderstood my complaint and gave me complex command line instructions to avoid having to remove that other product before KP would successfully install.

No, this is intentional "by design" behavior. There is no way to hide or ignore this notification (only by uninstalling this software). The incompatibility scan is run daily, the only "ignore" option for it is that once the third-party software was Skip-Keep, there would be no additional popup for it each time.

That is a very disappointing response from the Escalation Team.  I strongly believe that K should respect user choice and allow this warning to be dismissed.
 
Kaspersky Premium (KP) is the best security solution I have discovered in my years with computers (1988).  This is the only serious complaint that I have as a new KP user.
 
I hope that the Development Team will reconsider not permitting users to exercise control over their own security configuration.
 
I am also disappointed that your Forums lack a user Suggestion/Feedback subforum, so that users can exchange views and even vote on enhancements and suggestions.  My previous AV provider had such a subforum.  Posts there went directly to the Development Team.
 
KP is great, but Kaspersky should be continuously responding and enhancing their product to respond to customer preferences.  I think it is long overdue that K management consider enhancing their Forums, if only to avoid users having to open Support Tickets for suggested improvements.  Transparency and accountability go a long way in keeping satisfied customers.
