Endpoint Security Cloud - After update, "Application is installed but it is not running"
paul_33 replied to paul_33's topic in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business
We're on 12.11.0.637 right now It seems like some computers are fixing themselves without having to do anything, while others are suddenly experiencing this issue out of the blue despite working since the update. So now I am not sure what is causing this. One computer that I had previously reinstalled suddenly starting having it again, then after a few restarts it fixed itself. There needs to be a quick way to fix this because users can't be carrying on while their AV is not running correctly. Shouldn't it try to restart protection on it's own? -

Kaspersky Premium update 26th November, 2025, now unable to use other apps
Ar ar ar replied to AngryAlpaca's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
I hate kaspersky because it keeps making a please wait loop and when time runs out, the pig app just decides to block quick share -
Hi all , I have a VPN software called SurfShark takes long time to launch because of Kaspersky Standard. I've changed some settings in Exclusion of applications but I don't know if that safe or not ? At past I used multiple VPN software launch Fastly with no delay just this software. Hope to tell me about what I did if it's safe or not ?
-
This is exactly what I tried to explain to Kaspersky support. They have changed their system (just after my yearly renewal), now my vpn is useless. And I have to go through all kind of steps, including installing a debug variant of VPN, send all kinds of reports, which I have to dig up in the android folders somewhere. I am not willing to invest my valuable time in this proces, so I decided to wait a few weeks, and then move to another VPN option. I am tired of providers who think they can launch new software/updates without taking responsability of thorough testing. I am not a test dummy!

How to set Kaspersky Plus to launch upon startup.
Mexican Rose posted a topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
I have tried several times to figure out how to set my Kaspersky Plus to launch upon startup. There are instructions out there on the internet, but in the "security" area, there are so many places...& cannot figure out which one to use. I always purchase Kaspersky products & have never had a problem with any, however this one is really confusing me. I think it important that the app launch upon startup, otherwise how would I know if I'm protected. Thanks in advance!!! -

It might be that Network Agent removal tool cannot delete entries from registry, this is why this manipulation is required. Once all such entries are deleted, Network Agent installation should be successful.

I installed Kaspersky Total Security today, with a one year subscription. However, after it did a scan and restarted the computer, my keyboard and mouse have stopped responding. I tried other keyboards and mice, both wired and wireless as well but it did not work. But they still work on the biOS screen of the pc. I could not find a recovery boot option. So I would like to have help with this.

Does Kaspersky install its own mouse or keyboard drivers or change mouse/keyboard registry settings anymore? I read there were some issues regarding this in the past. And why would the software have to do any such thing? Excuse my ignorance but I’m a noob at antivirus. considering switching from Norton to Kaspersky. thank you

Hello. I just installed Kaspersky internet security and right away my Lenovo yoga 7i keyboard stopped working. Tried several methods before finding the registry method. Problem is, I follow all the steps, I delete the "klkbdflt" entry from the registry leaving only "kbdclass". I hit ok. Then when I close the registry, it comes back as it was: both entries appear in the UpperFilters. What do I do now? Please help, I need this machine for work. When I change it: When I open it again:

How to use FDE Precheck utility [KES for Windows]
Egor Erastov posted a blog entry in Kaspersky Endpoint Security's Kaspersky Endpoint Security
Advice and Solutions (Community Knowledgebase) Disclaimer. Read before using materials. This article is about Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows (KES for Windows) Description FDE precheck is a utility used for advanced Full Disk Encryption compatibility testing. It contains latest drivers which will be implemented in future KES releases. FDE precheck also collects diagnostic data used to fix compatibility issues. Inability to use laptop keyboard and\or touch-pad is one of the most frequently met issues. Using FDE precheck you can understand if compatibility issue was already fixed and will be included in next release or it should be addressed. You can download latest FDE precheck utility using following links: For KES 12+ - https://support.kaspersky.com/14328 System requirements Single operating system should be installed on the test machine, FDE Precheck can't properly function on a host with multiple operating systems. Use administrative account to run the utility. Read before proceeding Decrypt the test host and remove Kaspersky Endpoint Security and AES module. Do a backup of the critical data on the test machine. Follow the test sequence exactly as stated below. Do not manually stop the execution of the utility. The system will automatically restart several times, it is an expected behavior. Plug in laptop. Do not run test on battery. Failure to comply with steps above may lead to unpredictable consequences. Test sequence Make sure machine decrypted does not have KES or AES module installed not running any KL drivers has no critical data plugged in Reboot. Copy and unpack fde_precheck.zip archive. Run elevated fde_precheck.exe (either by right-clicking and choosing Run as administrator or by starting it from an elevated command prompt). If the program will not find any incompatibilities the following message box will appear: Press Yes, to initiate installation of the encryption drivers and initiation of the test. Wait for the automatic reboot, then login using the administrative user as was done earlier. Press OK on the pop-up that will appear shortly after the reboot: Press Yes in the UAC window if it will appear shortly after. Wait for several minutes (up to 10-15 minutes) until next automatic reboot will occur. Do not initiate reboot manually! It will be done automatically. Manual reboot at this stage may result in corruption of the OS. All preparations are run in background, it is normal that there will be no indication of activity on the desktop. After automatic reboot you will see the preboot agent, and it will require human presence to complete those tests. If possible, record the whole process on a camera of smartphone. You will be asked to enter random keystrokes using the keyboard and mouse. In case of successful keystroke registration you will see something like that: Just follow the instructions that will appear on the screen and press "NEXT >" when done with each test. In case FDE Precheck Preboot agent will fail booting or will freeze at some point, please take photo of the error message, or record the whole process on a camera and reboot the machine if necessary. OS will boot either way. Login using the administrative account that was used earlier. At this point drivers will be removed in the background and host will be rebooted one last time automatically. Wait for several minutes (up to 10-15 minutes) until next automatic reboot will occur. Do not initiate reboot manually! It will be done automatically. Manual reboot at this stage may result in corruption of the OS. All preparations are run in background, it is normal that there will be no indication of activity on desktop. The following three files are always created. All three files are mandatory to provide for analysis. fde_precheck_report.txt fde_precheck.log (will be located in the folder with fde_precheck.exe) Description of what have happened during tests (with screenshots and video if possible). -
Core isolation Windows 11

Hi Flood, Thanks very much for the quick reply. I was searching online for information about core Isolation and found the "On" recommendation but I can't for the life of me remember where. I trust Kaspersky far more than Windows so I will leave it OFF. I wish you a belated Happy New Year. Steven -
Keyboard Stopped Working On Laptop - Paused Kaspersky Total and Worked?
Joefram80 posted a topic in Kaspersky Total Security
I bought kaspersky total last year on an old xps 15 9550 with windows 10 pro laptop. When I used it, I had a huge issue where my keyboard didn't work at all. I use it connected to 2 external monitors and use a wired keyboard. Neither my external keyboard nor my laptop keyboard worked. I then did a lot of trial and error in kaspersky total settings and then somehow my keyboard worked. After that, I don't recall it having the issue with the keyboard not typing. My main concern here was because I use bitlocker and it required a pin at startup and then ask for a windows 10 password, that would still meant If i powered on the laptop, I could still type my bitlocker pin and windows password to get in right? Now just recently, I purchased a new windows 11 pro laptop. I installed kaspersky total on it and also moved the settings from the old windows 10 pro laptop to the new windows 11 pro laptop. I exported and imported the kaspersky file to the new windows 11 pro laptop. Just recently, my keyboard didn't work. Not only that, when I used my wireless mouse to click on icons on my desktop... it was right clicking. I think I had the same exact issue last year when I first got kaspersky total as I mentioned the above example in my 1st paragraph. I then did a full scan and it was fine. I then decided to pause kaspersky, and once I did that, my keyboard worked again and so did my mouse clicking. I then resumed kaspersky total and keyboard and wireless mouse works. Now can you tell me what exactly triggered this? What setting in my kaspersky sometimes causes my keyboard to not work? This makes me want to just pause kaspersky and use the microsoft windows defender that comes with windows. My bigger concern however was let say my laptop went to sleep and I needed to enter my local account password to get in to my desktop. How would I even do that if I can't type at all with my keyboard? I would have to shut down and restart my laptop as my only alternative right? Now in this situation, my keyboard would still work at startup right? Because I have bitlocker enabled on windows 11 pro so I need to enter my bitlocker pin and then my local account password to get into my desktop. So would I been stuck where I would need to do a clean reinstall if it got to this situation? Or my keyboard has to work at startup when it shows bitlocker screen? -
"Previous application launch failed" keeps being displayed
eng.bmoradi posted a topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
I have Kaspersky Premium. "Previous application launch failed". Apparently after few minutes when Windows boots, Kaspersky crashes and opens up again and displays this error. And it does the same several times again during the day. It's really annoying. I have contacted customer support and gave them all the necessary files (dump and system info files), It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard anything back. I went so far as to fresh install the latest Windows 11 (ISO on Microsoft's website), but nothing changes. I do not have any cracked software and everything I installed are genuine and properly bought. I thought the issue may be due to system stability, so I did a memory test overnight and did some burn-in benchmarks and there are no errors. No other program on my system acts weirdly. I have also tried "Kaspersky removal tool" and did another installation of Kaspersky, but the issue persists. I am very close to uninstalling this for good, and I don't want to, I really like Kaspersky. Please help! -
Description and cautions This article describes how to configure dump for capturing memory dumps, including application memory. Details The recommended text editor is nano, below is a quick tutorial on how to use it if you are using it for the first time. Configure kdump Altlinux There is no kdump-tools package in the default repository, so it has to be downloaded from the sisyphus repository: Go to https://packages.altlinux.org/en/sisyphus/srpms/kdump-tools/ In List of rpms provided by this srpm select the kdump-tools package for the required architecture (can be checked by running uname -m) Download the package from the Download link Install it by running apt-get update && apt-get install <path to the downloaded rpm> After that, follow the Debian instruction from Edit /etc/default/kdump-tools step Red Hat based distributions (tested on Fedora 38, Rocky Linux 9, Red OS) Install kexec-tools sudo dnf install kexec-tools Edit /etc/kdump.conf. In the configuration file edit the core_collector setting: option -d should be set to 17 instead of 31 Edit /etc/default/grub. Edit GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX, add crashkernel=256M to reserve enough RAM for the dump kernel to run, and nmi_watchdog=1, to capture a dump in case of a system hang Run sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg Reboot Enable kdump service sudo systemctl enable --now kdump.service Debian based distributions (tested on Debian, Astra CE, Alt Linux) Install kdump-tools sudo apt update && sudo apt install kdump-tools -y Edit /etc/default/kdump-tools. Reboot or run sudo sysctl --system After the set up above is complete, to manually trigger a dump press Alt+SysRq, Alt+C. Alternatively: echo 8 | sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq (Command above is only needed if kernel.sysrq is not set in /etc/sysctl.conf) echo c | sudo tee /proc/sysrq-trigger Location of the dump files may vary between different Linux versions, it is configurable in the kdump configuration file. In Debian based distributions it is set by KDUMP_COREDIR variable. In Red Hat based distributions it is set by the path setting, generally the default location is /var/crash. Make sure that the dump folder has enough free space for the dump to be written. You may search by filemask: vmcore. Related Information

Internet Shortcuts Files Blocked
MightierPen posted a topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
I have my file manager windows app blocked from network activity. But using that file manager I have some url shortcut files, as bookmarks to those websites. If my windows default web browser is not currently running then clicking the file will launch the browser but Kaspersky blocks it. Even though the browser is network allowed. If I run my browser first then copy over the url into the box it isn't blocked. This happens with any kind of file where I want the program not to connect to the internet but if it runs a file that I want to connect it won't. How can I allow url shortcuts to pass but keep the file manager blocked? Same with updating software. I wish that for my apps I can "Check For Updates" and Kaspersky will allow it, but that's the only thing it will allow. -
having DNS issues with the new Kaspersky VPN Wire Gaurd update version 21.23.6.614-2
User23837 replied to User23837's topic in Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection
red and green, its looking pretty festive here 🎄🍻 um so quick updates: they asked if the failed DNS site lookup happens with other sites then dnsleaktest.com, personally idk but it happens consistently with that site. i tested 10 servers for them and they still fail to find the site. i tried another vpn looking up dnsleaktest.com and it works fine. i updated the vpn again, and noticed the first go with selecting the fastest server puts me across the world, then after connecting to a closer server then trying the fastest server works properly. they asked if its the ISP i said i dont have the luxury to test that, but I gave them a link to this forum again where others have confirmed its not the ISP. 🙃happy holidays🫡 -

Hello, I suppose it can be the known Bug 5657225: [SUPPORT] Mouse and keyboard does not work after reboot (patch i appliance) It is related to our filters, which write in registry its values - only Windows OS can be affected. In most cases there was desinfection procedure + patch appliance. The problem will be fixed in next product`s version. Here are the list of steps, which can help to resolve the problem(highest workaround is easiest one): 1. Use USB-Recover tool: https://support.kaspersky.com/14221 to restore default mouse/keyboard filters values. USB Recover tool is based on KRD18(Linux OS), so keyboard and mouse must work within BIOS and this OS, because they are not related to Windows and its registry filters. 2. Use System Restore. It can be run from Recovery mode: https://www.ubackup.com/backup-restore/windows-10-recovery-mode-1021.html Also you can run command prompt from this mode and delete keyboard and mouse filters manually: 3. Or manually delete Kaspersky values from registry: Reboot PC - Troubleshooting - CMD - open regedit - delete klkbdflt and klmouflt values in UpperFilters from the following path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM1\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96b-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM1\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96f-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} The last one - is the hardest way to restore keyboard and mouse and it is better to do not use it, if you are not Advanced user of PC(skills of work with Windows registry is required). Thanks. P.S. We have had the problem with keyboard and mouse filters before(in 2016 and after), but it were single cases, which were related to kavremover utility, improperly installation/uninstallation of Kaspersky products, customer`s registry problems etc.

There is an example of a step-by-step instruction to configure Single-Sign-On (SSO) for KATA 4.1/5+/6+ into HOME.LAB domain. Prerequisites Deployed Central Node Server Name should be FQDN. (In current case FQDN name of Central Node - kata-cn.home.lab) It can be checked via Settings/Network Settings of Central Node. A and PTR record should be set for Central Node in DNS. Domain User Account should be created to set up Kerberos authentication by means of keytab file (in current case Domain User Account is kata-sign-on). AES256-SHA1 encryption algorithm should be enabled into created Domain User Account. Step-by-step guide to create keytab file On Domain Controller: Launch CMD As Administrator Execute the following command to create keytab file C:\Windows\system32\ktpass.exe -princ HTTP/kata-cn.home.lab@HOME.LAB -mapuser kata-sing-on@HOME.LAB -crypto AES256-SHA1 -ptype KRB5_NT_PRINCIPAL -pass * +dumpsalt -out C:\TEMP\kata-sgn-on.keytab The utility requests the kata-sign-on user password when executing the command. The SPN of the selected server is added to the created keytab file. The generated salt is displayed on the screen: Hashing password with salt "<hash value>" For multiple Central Node servers you need to save "<hash value>" of hashing password to add an SPN for each subsequent Central Node servers further using ktpass.exe utility. On Central Node Web Interface Move to Settings/Users/Active Directory Integration Add the created keytab file: Keytab file status section contains File which contains SPN for this server The file contains section HTTP/*****@*****.tld Under Users tab click Add and select Domain user account. Set domain user as <username>@<domain> On client machine Host should be joined to the same domain. Domain user should be logged in with account added into the Central Node. Open Control Panel/Internet Options Click on Security and select Local Intranet Click on Sites and then on Advanced Add FQDN of central node - kata-cn.home.lab Close windows: Launch Web Browser and access to Web Interface of the Central Node https://kata-cn.home.lab:8443 and it should be opened without asking any Login/Password.
