Hello everyone! I'm trying to disinfect a USB flash drive with important files without risking my pc, so I use Kaspersky Rescue Disk for that matter. The Problem is that when I plug in the flash drive while I'm in the Kaspersky Rescue Disk's Live System, it doesn't show up in the scan window alongside the volumes of my hard disk. Although the flash drive does appear in the file manager. Can someone help me please? My system specs: Windows 7 Starter Service Pack 1 32-bit Kaspersky Rescue Disk 18

I have a local NAS and mapped it to a network drive on Windows Explorer. It is set to reconnect automatically on boot. It doesn’t have any passwords configured to access. Kaspersky Rescue Disk cannot see them. Can KRD scan it? How do I configure it?

I boot from Kaspersky Rescue Disk, successfully update the anti-virus databases, shut down, boot from the same flash drive on another computer, and find the date of the databases is not up-to-date, but dates from the time the image was downloaded. That is, the databases on the flash drive are not updated? Why? There are many situations when updating anti-virus databases is impossible or undesirable on the scanned computer: lack of access to the Internet on the computer being checked, lack of access to broadband Internet on the computer, lack of a network card driver on the bootable flash drive, and many other reasons.

I have the same problem on my Probook 450 G7 as described in LinkKaspersky rescue disk stopped booting on “setup hwsetup” message. And after that, I was not able to restart the laptop at all! Pressing power button turned it into sleep state and pressing again just recovers laptop to black screen with 100% fan rotating. That is a shame for Kaspersky in my opinion, both that the tool is not starting on laptop that is 1.5 years old and that it blocks laptop from further operation. Thanks to HP there is an option to press power button for 15+ seconds so I was able to rescue from KRD blocking the laptop. p.s. by the way, the KRD initially just did not boot with same diagnos…

Hello I can launch the rescue disk from the USB thumbstick but when I try to launch the Kasperky Rescue Tool it will not launch, nothing happens. I tried to double click the icon and also right click then execute but nothing happens. I tried from the limited graphic mode option also and the same result. The only thing I can do from the GUI is restart it. I attached the hardware information file to this thread. My aim was to scan UEFI for any embedded malware or rootkits. Also I have Kaspersky AV is that sufficient enough to scan UEFI for malware or rootkits? Forgot to mention getting these errors in popup boxes: plugin “Date Time” unexpectedly left panel plugin “Key…

It’s been three days now that I’ve been trying to launch KRD on a Win 10, Asus Z490 MOBO, RTX 3070 MSI, Intel I-9900kf pc. Always getting a black screen as soon as I choose “Graphic Mode” or “Limited Graphic Mode”. I’ve also phisically removed the GPU to no change... How to fix this?

Hello, After booting KRD (the 2018 version i think) i got a communicate that warned me about the thing my Windows session is on hold, and proceeding may cause damage. Of course, i proceeded by clicking "x". After full scan, I've chose option " Clean all krd artifacts" and proceeded to boot windows. Now it runs chkdisk everytime i set it on, after scanning the drive on my own, Windows detected that it is damaged immediately, but chkdsk can't fix it. First time when it booted, it did something with "/?/Filesystem (something)" directory. I don't remember what, it was chkdsk at startup. I tried to boot krd back and chose the remove artifacts option to maybe fix the prob but …

I need to burn and scan some contents of a suspect external drive. If there is no sandboxing/isolation already exists, then malware may infect the rest of the system’ hardware, attached storage, or network/router, right? Please explain what kind of sandboxing or application isolation does Kaspersky Rescue Disk provide, and if it is activated on boot or need user intervention? and for what applications? And if there is a safer way to copy/burn from this drive?

My computer’s on-board network adapter is an Intel I219-V. It works fine in Windows, but when I boot the KRD it does not see it, there is no network adapter available. As I have KRD on a USB stick, can I download a driver in Windows and put it on the stick, then install it after I boot KRD? Kaspersky Rescue Disk 18.0.11.0(c) (built at 2019.08.09 18:25:54)

I’m using the rescue disc on a system with multiple volumes. When malware is found, the location is shown with a filesystem identifier, but it is not clear which volume that identifier refers to. The same identifier is shown in the rescue tool settings. It is not the same as the UUID shown by blkid: What is that ID, and how do I relate it to the volumes? Thanks.
