Can the owner of my subscription access any information other than Device name?
Flood and Flood's wife replied to lak's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello @lak, Welcome! (Your) English is fine, no apology necessary, do not worry! First, please allow us to clarify some of the information, so the answers provided can be accurate: A. (You've) purchased a Kaspersky Premium *Internet* subscription, however Kaspersky does not sell Kaspersky Premium *Internet*, the Kaspersky Premium product is called Kaspersky Premium Total Security - please share the site OR link/URL of the purchase site so we can check the details of the subscription? B. Is the company (you've) purchased the subscription from sharing the *same* subscription with *other* subscribers - those *other subscribers may be *unknown* to you? C. 4 out of 20 device registered -> indicates the subscription *owner* has purchased a 20 device subscription - allocating 1 device for their subscription & has shared 3 devices with (you). D. The *shared* Kaspersky Premium subscription has a license code that's held in the MyKaspersky account of the primary subscriber. When the primary subscriber (owner of the subscription) *shares* the subscription they do so by *inviting* other users via the recipients email address - for example: IF we were to share our subscription with you, we would go to our MyKaspersky account, go to Subscriptions tab, go to Share protection & enter (your) email address and (your) name & send the invitation: the name will be used in an invitation that will be sent by email. Please read: Shared protection, open *Reveal hidden contents* to see all of the library To answer (your) questions: Yes, the owner of the subscription can perform *some* remote management of computer protection on their account on My Kaspersky, for example, the subscription owner can view information about the security status of the devices, remotely start a scan on the devices, renew the subscription. Summarized information about the security of devices with shared protection is displayed in the Overview section. The subscription owner does not have access to bank cards or other private data of users, with whom they have shared subscription. The subscription owner may receive notifications if a child used one of the devices with the shared subscription, so they can try the Kaspersky Safe Kids solution for protecting children. IF the subscription owner told (you) in an email that (you) can add two more devices & the *4 out of 20 device registered* indicates the number of devices allocated - then it appears as tho the information is correct - try to add the two more devices, IF it doesn't work go back to the subscription owner. Thank you🙏 Flood🐳+🐋 -

Hello I bought subscription of Kaspersky Premium Internet Security from a third party for 3 devices and for two years they have provided me access to their company subscription i presume using my email. i downloaded the app and in settings I seen the phrase "Protect up to 20 device with your subscription" under the phrase are 4 out of 20 device registered. I asked them to provide the subscription via a serial number but they said it is better to send an invitation via email because this the subscription is preserved and can continue in case i formatted the Device. so my questions are: Can the owner of my subscription access any information other than Device name? also can they tamper with my device in any way? also can i really add two more device using my email as they said?, or im going to need to go back to them and ask them to add two more devices using their invitation method? Thank you for your time and efforts and apology for the lack of fluent English.

Hi @Bav, It is desirable to have the very latest database updates all the time, but not absolutely necessary. Kaspersky has extensive capabilities to detect malware as soon as it is launched. This works for a certain time even without up-to-date databases. The latest signatures would be an advantage for a scan, but undetected malware is harmless as long as it is not launched. Then the program control and other detection techniques intervene again. If the scan you start thinks the databases are too old, it will offer to update them first. But they are never really out of date. As soon as your computer is online, your Kaspersky can receive urgent information via the KSN and is therefore informed about the very latest known malware. If you still prefer a quick way for updates, you can create a batch file on the desktop, for example. For the MR21 the command is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky 21.21\avp.com" update Then it's just a double-click...

I found this topic whilst searching for a way to make the update window smaller. It seems it can not be done below 1 hour. I just wanted to know the automatic default, so it's indeed every 2 hours? OK so 1 hour is faster than that, I set to 8am every hour and 2 minutes after app start as I don't see the point of the delay with that which defaulted to 15 minutes. Honestly, I would prefer setting the update schedule to every 15 minutes and I think Kaspersky should allow the paranoid user like myself to set it that frequently, as what can it harm? it's not as if it causes any network slowdown or PC performance issues. Nevertheless, I do run an update myself before every manual scan, so that brings another thing. When we right click the K icon in taskbar, I think a very easy option to add and a very useful one would be to have an update shortcut. So we can just right click icon and update. No? Any reason why this would be a bad idea? The way it is now I have to open the interface and navigate to the security tab and click update. It's not the end of the world, just could be really easy with a shortcut in the right click menu. There are so many other things you can do there, like exit, pause protection etc, I think an update option would be great. Edit: Typos

LonWolfius replied to yorik25's topic in Kaspersky Secure Connection

How to set Kaserpsky Standard to ask me before deleting an infected or suspcious file?
Myne replied to Myne's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
It's not realistic to manually configure every single application. This behavior is frankly idiotic; there should be a hybrid solution which allows safe applications to function normally, while only requiring user confirmation when a serious issue arises. That being said, thanks again for trying to help. -

Yes, that's the problem with FireWall in Interactive. I will prompt for every unknown or service in any of the restriction groups. You can change rules and set to allow in Intrusion Prevention -> Manage Applications -
How to set Kaserpsky Standard to ask me before deleting an infected or suspcious file?
Myne replied to Myne's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Actually, it turns out that this is not really the solution I was looking for. If you disable "Perform recommended actions automatically", it now asks to confirm almost EVERY SINGLE THING. It becomes EXTREMELY annoying to the point I got pissed off, and completely closed Kasersky altogether! What I want it is to behave normally, and ONLY ask me if there's an actual threat or infection, not for every little thing. If I can't find a solution for this, I definitely won't renew my license going forward. I'll try to reach out to the support directly, but I don't have hope. This is terrible design. -
