We are running Kasp Sec Center 10, have been for two years. I have recently switched to Office 365. Then the problems began. Microsoft Teams simply will not connect if the Kaspersky client is active on a Windows 10 machine. Even with firewall disabled by policy. Even with application control disabled by policy. I searched for a solution to the issue and could not find even a reference to these issues except for one entry on the old Kasp forums, with no solution: https://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?/topic/395618-kes-microsoft-teams/ Can it be that I am the only person in the world to encounter these issues? I am frustrated after several hours of wasted time. If there is not a solution, we will toss Kasp and go to another solution. Sincerely et al.

Hi, Could you please specify what version of KES do you use? Thank you!

We are having the same issue with Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 SP2. If Kaspersky is active then Teams won't work. We've tried both temporarily disabling Kaspersky and adding a policy to allow MS Teams to not be blocked. We are using Application version 10.3.3.275 AES256.

I think I might have the same problem. Microsoft Teams (Desktop) is not working but I am still able to log in on the web browser. I am also unable to use my camera on Zoom (Desktop). Is there an option I can tell Kaspersky not to block these two apps?

Yo tengo el mismo problema pero en especial con Pasword manager uso la version 21.3.10.391, (al cerrarlo y reiniciar se resuelve)

We are using Kaspersky Premium which appears to be blocking Microsoft Teams. How do I get Teams as an approved app?

Thanks to @Flood and Flood's wife the only working solution for my disfunctioning of Microsoft Teams in combination with Kaspersky Total Security (KTS) is below:

  1. Make sure Windows Hidden items, is checked -> refer: View hidden files and folders in Windows
  2. *important* -> open Kaspersky app, select Settings⚙ -> General, uncheck Enable Self-Defense, select Save, select Yes to confirm the action.
  3. Exit Kaspersky app - on the Windows taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select Exit.
  4. Go to folder C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Report\ and delete the contents -> all files and folders.
  5. Shutdown the computer, using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login.
  6. Make sure KTS is running *important* -> Enable Self-Defense.
  7. Re-check the issue(s).

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available.

All credits and t
hanks to @Flood and Flood's wife.

@Sander

Above procedure from @Igor Kurzin applies to the obsolete KTS version , for the best results we currently recommend upgrading to Kaspersky Plus.

Thanks @Berny While a free upgrade path from KTS to Plus exists for eligible licenses via the Kaspersky site, why isn't Kaspersky proactively notifying users in-app or via email?

I've faced multiple issues with my three KTS licenses purchased last year (2025), only discovering they're now legacy and lacking full support requiring replacement to resolve compatibility problems like Teams blocking.

This feels like a missed opportunity, as online forums and reviews show widespread customer frustration with outdated KTS features and support. It's a shame, as proactive communication could retain loyalty and prevent unnecessary churn.

Thanks

You are welcome.

Please see FAQ → Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium - info & FAQ

You can proceed with an On Top install , during the installation Kaspersky Plus will import your KTS license & settings, once the installation is completed please update Databases + Reboot (Shut Down)

@Berny thanks for clarifying the "On Top install" to import KTS license into Plus it sounds straightforward.

However, I've never seen that FAQ or announcement from Kaspersky despite years using MyKaspersky, and KTS renewals were offered mid-2025 without warnings.

The Why Switch and renewal page's shows "no extra costs for existing licenses" from KTS to Plus but still quotes $ 117.80 extra for the same term of the licences, despite my higher prior KTS payments for the same licences.

Proactive in-app/email notices for loyal users would better match claims to reality and ease frustrations.

@Sander

Under an autorenewall status you obtain a discount for the first year, which is also common when purchasing other software applications.
