Hi all,

I cannot use Linkedin chat when Kaspersky is installed on my PC. Send button looks inactive. Affected browsers: Mozilla, Chrome. Working ones: Brave, Librewolf.

After uninstalling Kaspersky AV everything works fine again. Other AVs I tried (Bitdefender, Sophos) are not causing this problem. All browsers I tested had no extensions installed.

Anybody can help with that?

Thanks for replies.

Hello @yankee0903

Welcome!

  • A) IF (you're) located in the US, please read: Guide on Kaspersky software availability in the United States
  • B) Brave & Librewolf are not supported by Kaspersky, please read: Kaspersky for Windows, Hardware and software requirements, Supported browsers
  • C) Which Windows OS version & build, in Windows Search, type Winver, post-back a screen-print of the information shown by the Winver app?
  • D) Which Kaspersky version is installed, on the Windows, Taskbar, *Hidden-icons*, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About
  • E) In (your) Kaspersky app, how is Private Browsing configured?
  • F) We were going to suggest changing the Kaspersky Protection Extension (KPE), Private browsing to Allow, but, IF KPE is not installed in Mozilla & Chrome that won't be of concern (to you). Irrespective of the KPE - we're unable to replicate the issue:      image.thumb.png.7780dec6e0a4273cdc413e81f52d011b.png
  1. Exit *ALL* browsers.
  2. Export Kaspersky's Settings, READ: How to export settings
  3. Restore Kaspersky, READ: How to restore the default settings of the application - *do not import the original config at this stage*
  4. Shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not Restart, power ON by pressing the power button, login, make sure Kaspersky is running.
  5. Start Chrome, recheck the issue?
  6. Start Firefox, recheck the issue?

Please post back?

Thank you🙏

A.) No, I'm not located in US

B.) Ok, this explains why just main browsers are affected

C.) image.png.190cebe73ba8866d6f22893b65ab7947.png

D.) I'm using the latest version of Kaspersky Premium (installed 3 days ago)

E.) Private browsing feature was turned off

F.) No browser extensions were installed

Hello,

Have you enabled Kaspersky's Anti-banner component?

Regards.

I can see in your screenshot that you enable this component, try to disable this component and then ctrl+F5 or shift+F5 refresh the page and take a look, maybe some content is blocked by anti-banner. Specifically, you can check whether there are any blocked items in the anti-banner log.

Hello @yankee0903

Thank you for posting back & the information!

It appears the OS: 24H2, 26100.2161 is October 24, 2024—KB5044384 (OS Build 26100.2161) Preview - Preview builds are not supported by Kaspersky.

Hello @yankee0903

Thank you for posting back!

Possibly.

Check by installing a supported (commercially released) OS, IF the issue persists log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service  - https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts, on the support page, select either Email or Chat, then fill in the template as shown; please include a *detailed history*

  • *Also* -> IF using Chat - ask the operator to email (you) a copy of the chat transcript *before* ending the chat - otherwise (you'll) have no record of the chat*image.thumb.png.e919e12ccff39afa81479541f228ae5b.png

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you🙏
