Firefox not working with Safe Money

I have Kaspersky Plus installed, about to renew with Premium, however for some time Kaspersky Safe Money hasn't worked with Firefox and I have had to use Safe Money with Chrome.

I have Firefox 132.0.1 which is my default browser and if I select either Firefox or default to work with Safe Money, selecting a website nothing happens, it wont even open in current website when that option appears in Firefox.

I have read others having similar problems, has anyone any idea why this doesn't work, I have used Firefox with Safe Money for years without any problems it seems to be with the later updates?

Hello, @Richchad

In the actual test so far, the Safe Money feature is only turned on in the currently opened browser tab, not in the browser you selected. If you need a similar feature, you can create a Firefox Safe Money shortcut on your desktop, open the browser and fill in the URL to access it.

Regards.

Thanks for the reply, as I mentioned when I select Firefox as my Safe Money browser which is the same browser I use for all other browsing it fails to open the safe money window.

If I try to open the URL in Firefox I get this message Website Opened in another Protected Browser even though I have selected Firefox as my Safe Money Browser option.

I already have the shortcut but it makes no difference, same happens as above..

The only way I can get to open a Safe Money Window is if I select Google Chrome which I already have installed as another browser.

Am I missing something in your reply??

Hi @Richchad

Your question is, you can't open safe money in Firefox, right? Every time you open the safe money, you are prompted to open the secure browser in another browser, yes?

Try to delete all safe money config file related to firefox.

  1. Disable KL product self-denfense and exit it.
  2. Go to PATH: %programdata%\Kaspersky Lab\SafeBrowser\Common
  3. Enter in S-1-5-21- xxxxxxxxx folder --> Firefox folder, Deleted Firefox folder and re-start KL product and enable its self-denfense.

Try to use firefox in Safe money, any better?

Regrads.

Hello @Richchad

Given that Firefox is both your system default and selected in Safe Money, the issue is likely due to recent changes in Firefox or its interaction with Kaspersky’s extension.

If you haven’t already, you might also try resetting Safe Money:

  1. Reset Safe Money Settings:

    • Go to Kaspersky Settings > Protection > Safe Money > Advanced Settings, and try resetting Safe Money’s settings to default.
    • Reconfigure Firefox as the default browser for Safe Money afterward.
  2. Re-test with Firefox after ensuring all extensions and configurations align with the default Firefox settings you have now.

  3. Contact Kaspersky Support if the issue persists, as they might be able to offer a compatibility patch or suggest specific settings optimized for Firefox's latest update.

            Thank you

Yes I can't open safe money in firefox, it attempts to open the window in firefox and then closes immediately.

Where is the safe money config file?

@KarDip Thanks for reply, I have tried resetting safe money to default browser although the procedure to get to Safe Money settings has changed in Kaspersky Plus as no Protection option or advanced, seems it is all under Privacy now unless I am missing something?

  1. Make sure Windows Hidden items, is checked -> refer: View hidden files and folders in Windows
  2. *important* -> open Kaspersky app, select Security, select the Security Settings icon ⚙, scroll down & select Self-defenseuncheck Enable Self-Defense, select Save, select Confirm, to confirm the action - see four images below.
  3. Exit Kaspersky app - on the Windows taskbar, *hidden icons*, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select Exit.
  4. Then continue with the instructions from @Wesley.Zhang

Hello @Flood and Flood's wife

I do have show hidden items selected but still cannot access the file..

I get this message... You don't currently have permission to access this folder

click continue  to permanently get access to this folder.

After clicking I get a further message.. you have been denied permission to access this folder

To gain access to this folder you need to use the security tab

Then when I click the security tab, which is in properties, I select advanced and whatever I try there nothing changes??
