Hello

How often, or when does K check for database updates ?

I've had to manually update them for several days (weeks ?) most of the time
Especially if I happen to close K for an hour, for example, but the PC is on for 7 or 8 hours

Same use for years, and never had a problem like this

Thanks

Welcome to Kaspersky.

Default settings updates the product every 2 hours, but You can set up to every 1.

Are You using a laptop in battery?

Hello

Thanks for your reply
It's a desktop (no battery)

I've already looked at the different settings @Berny recommended, but I still have the same problem

Don't use a proxy server, Uncheck the Games box, etc...

I was wondering about the frequency, because if I close Kas (for some reason) and restart it, even after several hours, the databases are not up to date (if I do it manually, they are updated and the time indicated goes back 2, 3 or more hours)

Thanks

Hello

I did the manual setup.
The databases were no longer up to date since April 30th... A problem with the automatic option, recently.

Hello @tistou77

Only quick addition : Kaspersky checking for updates after 15 minutes of windows start (when you see background) after 15 minutes will automatically update databases and then every 2 hours.

Hello

@harlan4096 I have this (like you, except "do not disturb" which is checked)

I don't know why the "Battery" option is grayed out (it's a desktop)

KIS.thumb.PNG.2e89ba29d4fbb7b8ad43b28746352c5e.PNG

@nexon With the settings set to automatic, I didn't get an update yesterday (May 1st)
I had closed K for less than an hour during the day, before the database update at 9:26 PM (the time of the last update)

Mine, it's a desktop also.

Kaspersky was recently reinstalled with 21.21 version

For Battery, I removed the Battery packages (and other Apps that I don't use) with command DISM
K can no longer find the battery options (even if it is a desktop) perhaps,
In this case, the option should be grayed out and unchecked (like when installing the graphics driver, the battery options are missing)

I don't think K uses Windows files to update its database, which would be absurd
If a Windows file is "corrupt" or something, K will not update its database, and therefore will not detect this corrupted file or something

But never had a problem until recent weeks (and reinstalled Windows a few days ago)

What if You change source server of K. updates?

Posted (edited)

Which server can I add ?
There is no choice in the server list

Just a Add button

Thanks

Configured like this

The update check is performed 3 minutes after launching K, right ?

Ok, I closed and reopened K, more than waited 10 minutes, and there was no database update. Still the same one

KIS.PNG.ef2e01201ae9b09f2534d9cc26a50d5d.PNG

I did a manual search, and I got this

KIS3.PNG.82c4cabd8d94a15d3792968d8d1ed639.PNG

It's 6 p.m for me (18:00)
So the problem is just with the update search performed by K, but no problem with the manual search...

Where could the problem come from ?
Surprising that K uses Windows files to update itself

Thanks

Also, can You check and post the K. Reports section for Databases updates?

Also, that's correct, current last database updates is 17:22.

Some module minor updates don't change the time of the database, so even having it every hour, that time may not differ for some hours...

Hello @tistou77,

this case also seems a bit strange to me. But there could be another reason:
please go to 'Settings->Security settings->Network settings'. There should be an option 'Limit traffic on metered connections (Restreindre le trafic sur les connexions limitées)'. Is this option disabled?

https://support.kaspersky.com/help/Kaspersky/Win21.21/fr-FR/201001.htm

Thanks for your help
This option is enabled, should I turn it off ?

Error parsing application databases and modules

Ok, no problem with manual updates, only 'automatic"

Thanks

It's certainly worth a try. Nothing can break...
But as @harlan4096 has indicated: you can only recognize an attempted update in the reports. The date of the signatures may be older and not correspond to the last update.

@Schulte Thanks, I disabled the option to test

But I don't have a metered connections, so it would be weird if that were it
The error during the manual update (report) wouldn't be related ?

Yes, of course. I always check the date and time of the databases in the evening
When I restarted K and got the message that the databases were out of date, I did a manual update and I've checked every day since

For example, I didn't get the automatic update to get today's at 5:22 PM, and when I did it manually at 6:00 PM, I got it
However, I set it up so that updates are "checked" 3 minutes after launching the application (see screenshot above)

Thanks

I thought about it, did it, and checked the settings for updates, then reimported my .cfg backup (and set the same settings as the default for updates)

But I'll do it again and redo all the settings.
Perhaps there's a "conflict" with settings from older versions of K

Thanks

EDIT : it's Manage Settings => Restore, right ?
