Hey junob8rock, Not sure which version of KAV you have, so, has your Kaspersky application application detected Gandcrab? If yes, are the options to eliminate not working? The following may help: https://www.kaspersky.com/blog/gandcrab-ransomware-is-back/25854/ - one of the references in this Kaspersky blog is to go to https://www.nomoreransom.org/en/decryption-tools.html, [GandCrab (V1, V4 and V5 up to V5.1 versions) Ransom] the version your computer is infected with is not specified, however, it's worth reading, it may help, & the link to the .pdf in [ BDGandCrabDecryptTool Decryptor]is designed to decrypt files encrypted by GandCrab (V1, V4 and V5 up to V5.1 versions) Ransom] > [https://www.nomoreransom.org/uploads/GANDCRAB%20RANSOMWARE%20DECRYPTION%20TOOL%20(002).pdf] does mention [GANDCRAB V5.0.2]. https://noransom.kaspersky.com/ does not mention [GANDCRAB], however, https://noransom.kaspersky.com/faq-en/ has useful information. Also, https://support.kaspersky.com/us/search?query=gandcrab&sec=SupportViruses, has 34 entries for [.file-encrypting malware], again not [GANDCRAB] specific but there may be some useful info there as well. If none of this helps, definitely log a case with Kaspersky Lab & also there's lots of info available if a search is done with Dr. G or any search engine of your choice. Good luck!!
