Kaspersky URL advisor greyed out after using Kaspersky VPN & Captcha issue

Recommended Posts

rounakr94

I am a Non-US resident using Kaspersky Premium along with their VPN. For the past few days I am seeing that whenever I am turning off the VPN the URL Advisor icon beside links in Google search is greyed out. After a browser restart the URL advisor works again.

Since Kaspersky Forums is giving me random Error 503 I posted in main post with image.

Hello @rounakr94

Welcome back!

  • We're not entirely clear why you felt compelled to PM this issue to my wife & me:image.thumb.png.8842244d0f6b2f88ea47503bdf796767.png
  1. Is the grey icon issue happening in every supported browser - Edge, Chrome, Firefox?
  2. Is the VPN Kaspersky OR another VPN provider?
  3. VPN usage in India (as far as we understand) is heavily monitored/restricted - as mandated by the Indian government. Read: Suspended sales in India
  4. 503 errors may be related to server overload, server maintenance, temporary transmission faults - shutting down & rebooting (your) network & computer may assist as can re-installing Kaspersky software - IF the issues persist, log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service, https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts  - on the support page, select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown; please include a *detailed history*. Support may request logs, traces & other data, they will guide you:

Thank you🙏

Hi,

Since the forum was randomly throwing error 503 and was asking for image captcha everytime which is a new for me I thought of asking the Admin's/Master's of the forum.

1. The issue is noticeable in both Firefox and Chrome whichever is open while VPN is on.

2. VPN is Kaspersky VPN which came as a bundle with my Kaspersky Premium 3 year License.

3. VPN's are legal in India as long as the VPN providers keep a log of the user's history.

4. The error 503 seems Kaspersky server related as it is also happening on mobile browser and moreover I am being asked for a captcha everytime I try to access the forums. The issue is not device related.

Hello @rounakr94

Thank you for posting back!

Your initial report makes no mention of the captcha issue.

We're not getting any 503 errors, we are getting the captcha issue & we're also not in India, nor are we in the US.

Please log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service, follow the advice as in step 4 - in our previous reply.

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you🙏

This is the captcha I am receiving everytime.

Plus when I logged in the forum the location showed Russia instead of India. Estimated location shouldn't show a location from thousands of thousands kilometres away.

There must be some issues with the servers imo, since berny says that it has been reported.

It helps to provide accurate information when (you) initially report an issue @rounakr94 - Read before you create a new topic! by Danila T.

Well if the forums worked properly for me in the first place I wouldn't have had to post it in an awkward manner, since then the servers seems to have been restored after the Microsoft Azure downtime. Anyways since the issue has been forwarded by the Admin to the team I would wait for them to fix it.
