Hello @Karl S

Welcome!

Just for clarification, you'd like to use Kaspersky Free but it's not available in the Galaxy Store in your location in East Africa, in (your) Galaxy Store there's Kaspersky Endpoint Security Free & (you) also have access to the Kaspersky app via direct APK download - is that correct?

Please post back?

Thank you🙏

Hi @Flood and Flood's wife

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I would like to obtain the Kaspersky free version but it seems not to be available in the galaxy store. The only app present in the store is the enterprise app KES which is a different app. I don't mind going through the long apk download process, I just needed to know if it is region locked for the free version via the galaxy store. If it is I will use the alternative method.

Hello @Danila T.

Thank you for the reply. It appears it is not supported/available in my country. It is strange since I am in the East Africa region and not the US. However I was apply to get the app through the APK download method so I think I will use that for now.

Thank you.

Hello @Nanoni564

Excellent, well done! Thank you for taking the time to share the good news with the Community!

  1. Re publishing the .apk version, it's a good idea! From memory Kaspersky is aware of the issue - @MedvedevUnited

Thank you🙏

Can you name the apk file like "kaspersky.version.apk" rather than just "kaspersky.apk" or then put the latest version number on the website. Thanks

Pretty sure kaspersky also got removed from rustore (atleast here in the Netherlands). I find this curious, because aren't mail.ru and Kaspersky both russian?

(i believe mail.ru is their old name, 70% sure it's now called VK group)

(note: i don't understand russian, but rustore doesn't support English)

I forgot a important detail. (But for some reason the forum won't let me edit my message a second time)

Rustore has a Kaspersky anti virus built-in. So why can we have it in the rustore app, but not the standalone app that also includes the vpn and other services?

Hello @321Jarn!

In RuStore the application is available only when accessed from Russia.

Hello everyone,

First of all thank you for being here we will do our best to provide you with answers to your questions.

The downloads and updates of Kaspersky products are temporarily unavailable on the Google Play store. Kaspersky is currently investigating the circumstances behind the issue and exploring potential solutions to ensure that users of its products can continue downloading and updating their applications from Google Play. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

While we are working to restore the availability of Kaspersky solutions on Google Play, users can continue downloading and updating Kaspersky products from other mobile stores, including Galaxy Store, Huawei AppGallery, Xiaomi GetApps and others. The range of available Kaspersky products for Android is the same in each store. Learn more about Kaspersky products on mobile stores here: How to download Kaspersky applications on Android

So, Kaspersky was my device administrator app with a subscription bought through Google play microtransactions.

My phone was wiped as a result of a failed screen unlock attempts. Kaspersky is not the problem. How can decisions taken by the EU and US. Millions of us in the Global South have been exposed due to an app not being able to cross update from Google Play and Samsung Galaxy Store. Google asked if I would like my subscription with Kaspersky to be canceled and we're willing to expedite the process. I use this service across platforms so I'm unsure as to why they can make such determinations. Also. Google Support also referred me to the developer who had gave instructions to download the software via app sideloading or from a Samsung which is less secure and had Kaspersky Labs developer contact details in the Middle East somewhere. I tried both and still feel it's to9 little to late. Thanks Google
