Suspicious Action Blocked/Allow Events, "Use browser command line" with Internet Control Panel.
Flood and Flood's wife replied to Agentgraves84's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Hello Agentgraves84, Thank for posting back! Re: Winodws Firewall alert: The "emergency" quick thinking actions you took are exactly what's required. Re: "Use browser command line, Internet Control Panel. windows/system32/inetcpl.cpl" Internet Options inetcpl.cpl Opens the classic Internet Options window. Manage Internet settings that Internet Explorer and other browsers may use. Can you check, how often this specific event is reported? Is Safe Browser/Protected browser running when this event occurs? Please check: **start Internet Explorer - normal browser a) change several Internet Explorer settings check Kaspersky application Reports - any events? **start Protect Browser b) change several Internet Explorer settings check Kaspersky application Reports - any events? Also, if it's not too much trouble, may we have a GSI https://support.kaspersky.com/common/diagnostics/3632#block7 please? Thanks! -
Many thanks for the quick reply harlan4096. I suspected that might be the case. Is there an eta when F might be released? I am wondering whether its worth the effort of rolling back the upgrade or not :-) thanks Paul Also - what isn't going to work. I have tested file virus detection - works. I have tried Wicar website and dangerous URL's blocked..... Thanks

Hi, Please add "This PC" to scan task scope and launch it once again. -
Hello, I using macOS Mojave 10.14.5 and KIS 19.0.0.294a.b.c.d. It happens very frequently to have the scanning (let it be Quick or Full) hang at the same object com.apple.telemetry. I'm unable to stop the scan too. The only resolution is to restart the machine. This issue was present on High Sierra too. Please advise. Thank you!

Rootkit scan, is it needed? [Closed]

For detailed info from Yury N, KL person, please fire up your favorite translator and see: https://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?/topic/329237-%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BA-%D1%80%D1%83%D1%82%D0%BA%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%B2/&do=findComment&comment=2501074 Google translate: "1) "Rootkit scan" and "quick scan" are the same. Only "rootkit scan" comes in the background and with reduced CPU and disk consumption. 2) The same number of objects will not get. There are many nuances. For example, running / running processes are included in the scan. Windows constantly runs background tasks, so the number of objects to be scanned is constantly changing. 3) You can do such a test - disable the automatic launch of the rootkit scan, reboot, start the rootkit scan from the console (avp.exe start scan_qscan), wait for the end, start the quick scan. The number of quick scan objects will be greater than that of rootkit scan." Rootkit scan and quick scan are one and the same. Only "rootkit scan" comes in the background and with reduced CPU and disk consumption. 4) You can disable rootkit scan and not set up a quick scan schedule if you regularly launch a quick scan yourself PS The influence of rootkit scan should not be noticeable even when the game profile is disabled. But the game profile affects other background tasks that may be causing the brakes in the game." -

Install VPN on a Router/Raspberry Pi
ReidelHPB replied to ReidelHPB's topic in Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection
Good Morning! I would like to use Secure Connection on my Amazon fireTV Stick, unfortunately there is no app for the FireTV. Sideloading the android app does not work because the screen ratio is messed up and i can't login due to the fact that there is no Keyboard. Other VPN Services do have the possibility to be installed directly on a router to secure the whole network. Can i do this with my Kaspersky VPN or maybe install it on a Raspberry Pi? -

Kaspersky Free goes completely unresponsive after "a while." [Solved][Closed]
Bert replied to Bert's topic in Kaspersky Free
Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit My current AV product, Avira Antivirus Pro, underwent some really unfortunate changes recently, rendering it unusable for my purposes, so I'm looking for a replacement. I thought I'd try the free version of Kaspersky and maybe some others before buying anything. I completely uninstalled the Avira product, downloaded and installed Kaspersky Free without incident. Ran the full scan successfully. Configured a weekday quick scan and a Sunday full scan and went about my day waiting to see how it would work. A few hours later, I opened the Kaspersky Free UI to inspect a few settings and found that NONE of the UI controls would respond. I couldn't even get the program to exit. I was only able to close the UI by logging out. I repeated the process a few times and had the same result. I wanted to uninstall and re-install the product, just in case I had missed something, but was unable to uninstall. Invoking the uninstall process brought up a dialog, whose contents I'm ashamed to say I don't remember. Nonetheless, that UI was also completely unresponsive. Unfortunately, the only way out of this condition was to manually reboot. I tried the uninstall again with the same result. Since I really needed to get back to work, I gave up and restored my OS partition from last night's backup. What's going on here? I'd really like to give this product a fair test and am pretty sure it wouldn't be widely used and highly rated if this was a common problem. What am I doing wrong? What should I be looking for? -
Why are scans hung up on "UserEventPlugins/com.apple.telemetry.plugin"? [Closed]
merionb209gardens replied to merionb209gardens's topic in Kaspersky Anti-Virus
When I try to do a quick or full scan, the scan activity stops at "System/Library/UserEventPlugins/com.apple.telemetry.plugin/Contents/MacOS" The scan progress never gets past 1%, even though the current scan, for example, has been running for over 20 hours. Screen shot attached. I used to routinely do quick and full scans without problems. Help! -
Hello, and thanks for the quick response. Yes, I have tried adding the decrypting software to the trusted zone as "**\IronKey.exe" and also added other programs based on this list. I stopped pursuing the application route at this point after I found that disabling device control for CD-DVD drives was the only difference between it working or not. Here are links to our Global Policy and the Policy Profile in use for these PCs and users just in case the profile isn't part of the main export. I have confirmed that the PCs are using the profile through local event logs.

Cursor freezes when using On-screen keyboard [Solved][Closed]
Marlbo replied to Marlbo's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Hi richbuff & Flood thanks for your response (it all helps!) I *think* I may have just sorted the problem, nothing simpler than updating the Kaspersky database which is strange, as I thought it automatic, or at least I would get a prompt to say out of date, never had to do that before.? Flood: that was the first website and time I had the problem, today I added its URL to the Safe List, retried the Website and my Bank site, and received a message for both that there was trouble with Certification/verification and they may not be safe. Opened Kaspersky, saw a lot of orange (warning?) text that it needed updating, it didn't want to update at first, re-booted, selected the Update Automatically (even though it was already selected) Saved, then retried those Websites with no problem and I can hover over the On-Screen keyboard as much as I want without it freezing now. Really don't know what happened there, just one of those never to happen again glitches?....Lets' see! Thanks both for your offers of help Marlbo -

I cannot access any of the Kaspersky settings with Input Director software on Networked PCs [MOVED] [Closed]
Flood and Flood's wife replied to a topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello Skywreck, Thanks for posting back. May I ask, is the original problem: "cannot access any of the Kaspersky settings as the mouse and keyboard are disabled around the borders of Kaspersky interface", slightly different to current issue: "input director mouse is disabled on any Kaspersky window"? And, it's very hard (for me) to see, on the left hand side it looks like there are 2 shortcuts being accessed, 1 (input director?), the other (?S_Cll?) is it possible to move these to a more central/visible position & reproduce please? For my understanding, when [ ]Self Defence is unselected that's using the locally attached mouse? Is that correct? Also, referring to the following image, your .mp4 does not show a PopUp when [ ]Self Defence is changed, is that correct? & please let us know: KIS [Security Level] setting? Secure Data Input Settings? Is KISDT version 3.1.10.217 software still installed? Thanks! https://help.kaspersky.com/KIS/2019/en-US/87342.htm -
Cursor freezes when using On-screen keyboard [Solved][Closed]
Marlbo replied to Marlbo's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
I've used the on-screen keyboard quite often every time when making on-line purchases. Today, for the first time when using it, my cursor froze as soon as it made contact with the keyboard and stayed frozen. The only way out of it was to use the Task Manager then select Cancel. Tried several times but same happened, had to make purchase without on-line keyboard, the Site didn't automatically open in the Protected Browser either. Should I be worried? Many thanks.... Marlbo -
I cannot access any of the Kaspersky settings with Input Director software on Networked PCs [MOVED] [Closed]
Flood and Flood's wife replied to a topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello Skywreck, Welcome! May we have the following information please: KIS version? Devices Operating system/s / versions? Input Director version? Screen print/s showing "mouse and keyboard disabled around the borders of Kaspersky interface"? GSI - https://support.kaspersky.com/common/diagnostics/3632 Thanks. -
Hi I've just downloaded Internet security as a trial to my two netwoked PCs, I use Input Director to control both with one single keyboard and mouse. However although it works well I cannot access any of the Kaspersky settings as the mouse and keyboard are disabled around the borders of Karspersky interface. Read a post where the only solution offered was to disable Self Defense which indeed solves the issues but can cause security issues makes using the software pointless. I am thinking of purchasing license for 3 devices but unless there is a genuine solution without jeopardising security then I'm afraid I won't do so. Surprised this an issue when all previous other vendors packages never has a problem. Look forward to a possible resolution. regards //Mod Note: moved to proper section.

KAV Free 19.0.0.1088 - ".removeOnNextReboot" files in ProgramData folder [Solved][Closed]
dIMIS85 replied to dIMIS85's topic in Kaspersky Free
Hello all! Thank you a lot for your extremely quick responses! About the info you have requested: My anti-virus version is "Kaspersky Free 19.0.0.1088(d)" My OS is Windows 7 Professional Version 6.1.7601 - Build 7601 with Service Pack 1 I always shutdown my laptop via normal Start menu -> Shutdown option Indeed, I think that these files are useless leftovers from KAV Free definition/program updates and there should be no harm if I remove them, but I am looking forward at your replies... Thank you very much, in advance  -
Kaspersky Protection Plugin for Firefox disabled/can't verify [Closed]
laserguy replied to murphz's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
It should be noted that the quick fix supplied by Mozilla as noted above, only allows for the addition of new add-ons / extensions. It does not fix the problem with legacy extensions like Kaspersky Protection being removed. They will remain unsupported and continue to be excluded from the browser until Mozilla comes up with a permanent fix. -
