  1. I downloaded Kaspersky antivirus on my widows 10 PC and ever since then I have been unable to install it on the the PC. when I try to launch the installation wizard, it loads and stops. Has happened several times and getting me frustrated. I need help from the Gurus here. Thanks
  2. @FLOOD First, thank you for detailed explanation. Second, I cannot now replicate this issue as after clearing cache everything works. Mind you I haven’t found issues with ff.ksk.v2.scr.kaspersky-labs.com after quick googling. There is a lot with ff.ksi.v2.scr.kaspersky-labs.com, but this is different server probably for Kaspersky Internet Security. I guess this issue appears when there are old addresses injected in cache files, but they are not used by new version of Kaspersky product anymore. I think they should provide something like transient period when both function simultaneously. Generally I think KSK is a little too rough around the edges for non IT users. Many people I know, that once used it, doesn’t anymore, because it stopped working for them at some point and they couldn’t figure how to fix it. Which is a shame because it is a nice product.

Full file name, full path, full location, detection verdict. Post screenshot of Reports > Detailed reports > Detected objects. Main Kaspersky window > More Tools > Reports > upper right > Detailed reports > at the upper left, drop down from All Events to Detected objects. How to take and post screenshot: https://support.kaspersky.com/common/diagnostics/492 PrtSc (Print screen) key (upper right part of keyboard)> open Paint (Start > All programs > Accessories) > Edit > Paste, File > Save as (jpeg or png, Not bmp). When replying, bottom left of reply box > Drag files here to attach, or choose files... Submit reply.
  4. Many thanks for your reply. I checked the system in the system configuration and dicovered that it das RAID0 and not RAID1 as I mentioned. I used your custom KRD and the "Tools" button (left to "Quarantine") was visible and active, so I could run the "USB Recover Tool" that eliminated Kaspersky drivers from 3 registry entries. After restarting the PC (without KRD) I was able to login to windows as the keboard was now enabled. No problems with RAID. So the keyboard problem is solved now :-). Now I run into the next problem as my home network is not visible anymore and I cannot connect to the internet. So I rolled back the KTS changes using the kavremover utility. After restarting the PC I still could not reach or restore the home network using windows tools. As the next step I moved all oem*.inf files containing the word "Kaspersky" together with their corresponding *.pnf file from "C:\Windows\INF" to another directoy and restarted windows. But there is still no network and no internet connection. Because everything worked well before installing KTS, it seems that the kavremover utility has not rolled back everything. What could I do to restore the network functionality as it was? I'll send you the traces in the next step.

    Hi Flood, Thanks for the quick reply! You are right, yesterday after opening this question here I discovered that I could open an Incident inside my account and so I did it. The request I made a couple of months ago was straight in a kind of “test” webpage from Kaspersky, but I just inserted my e-mail contact, but was not logged inside My Kaspersky. Now I have created an incident inside my account and the support already answered me with a couple of extra questions. Let’s see.
  6. As post above indicated…. In addition - kaspersky scanning on the background your files and also if you run scan (FULL or QUICK) then pulsing or ROOTKIT scan (this runs automatically).
  7. You can rollback KTS changes by kavremover utility https://support.kaspersky.com/common/uninstall/1464. But you can’t login and accordingly you can’t run kavremover. You can restore keyboard by KRD https://support.kaspersky.com/14221. But KRD don’t support your RAID. Please try this custom KRD http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com/KRD/2018/isw/krd_isw.iso. Run KRD with “trace” parameter https://support.kaspersky.com/14223 and send traces anyway.
  8. RAID1 was preinstalled by Dell. I never touched it. My problem is that the keyboard was disabled during the KTS installation and I cannot login to Windows. Is it possible to delete the KTS entries from registry and rollback the changes made by KTS during its installation?

    Kaspersky Free Antivirus and Comodo Firewall

    I’ve been using Kaspersky A/V paid version with Comodo Firewall for years on Windows 7 and 10 computers. I noticed a while ago that on Windows 7 Kaspersky crashes a few minutes after the computer is on if Comodo Firewall is installed. Kaspersky can be restarted but will crash again a few minutes later. After some testing it appears this happens with both Kaspersky A/V paid and free versions on Windows 7 if Comodo Firewall is installed. If Comodo is turned off/paused it still causes a crash, it needs to be uninstalled completely. On Windows 10 Kaspersky and Comodo seem to coexist together OK. I need to continue to run Windows 7 for a couple more years on this particular computer so unfortunately I can’t just upgrade it to Windows 10 for a quick fix. So while Kaspersky A/V works on both Windows 7 and 10, they don’t run on both systems equally well. I’ve tried installing the latest versions of both Kaspersky and Comodo on a freshly installed Windows 7 OS with these results. I believe I have any overlapping features turned off on both programs as I turn most of the features off on the programs and am just using the main A/V in Kaspersky and the basic firewall in Comodo. I’d love to have both of these programs running on that Windows 7 machine.
  10. I run Windows 10 Home version 1909 OS Build 18363.592. I’ve just downloaded and installed the NEW Microsoft Edge (based on Chromium, but not called Chromium Edge). Running Safe Money through Safe Money window, and it still reverts to Internet Explorer 11. I did some web forum searches, and even on this forum, going back to at least 2017, the problem of Safe Money running through IE was evident, with no clear solution. So, either MS won’t allow it or Kaspersky have not resolved it. However, based on the following:- “Microsoft Edge browser is not supported on Microsoft Windows 10 operational systems later than version 1803” “With the update to version 21.х.х.х, Kaspersky programs will stop supporting Microsoft Edge in the following components: Safe Money Protection for data entered on the computer keyboard” Considering that Edge/New Edge are the default Browsers of Windows, and my purchase of KIS was based partly on the fact that it was designed to run in a Windows environment, I am pretty annoyed with Kaspersky. Note1, when KIS has an issue starting any browser the user may have configured, it reverts to the system default browser, atm, (for you) is IE the system default browser? Note2, if you haven’t done so already, please run a KIS software compatability check? Re Note 1 Is the ‘system default browser’ different to the default app choice browser in settings? Sorry, not too technically minded! Re Note 2 from the list of incompatibles, there are only 2 listed that I can note: Windows Defender (but that is now superceded by KIS, and ‘Update for Windows’ - I have Windows 10 Update Assistant on the system. Beyond this, and pending going to Technical Support as you advise, which I can’t do now, I am at a loss. But, I know I am not the first to have this problem. Thanks

The advice from Kaspersky is confusing😖 , atm, they say: Limitations in Kaspersky programs version 20.х.х.х The Microsoft Edge browser is not supported on Microsoft Windows 10 operational systems later than version 1803 (RS4). Limitations in Kaspersky programs version 21.х.х.х With the update to version 21.х.х.х, Kaspersky programs will stop supporting Microsoft Edge in the following components: Safe Money Protection for data entered on the computer keyboard However, as we’ve already established, from Kaspersky communications and from posters, e.g. @Ylive- Kaspersky employee, Kaspersky will be supporting Chromium Edge🤔 Generally regarding "Website opened in another Protected Browser" message when opening Safe Money in Microsoft Edge” Specifically, regarding “Failed to run Protected Browser. Reason: Unexpected error starting Protected Browser. Error code: 0x80000046.” ➡ Please contact Technical Support, they will need a GSi & Windows Logs, and may need traces, run as the issue is replicated, they will guide you with the traces collection. Please let us know their solution when it’s available? Note1, when KIS has an issue starting any browser the user may have configured, it reverts to the system default browser, atm, (for you) is IE the system default browser?   13. Just to be sure, can I launch tracing from custom tools and in the mean time take Procmon logs without change Self Defense on KSC policy? I had some issue after policy change so I'd avoid to change it.

  16. Is it possible remotely launch Kavremover from KSC with a specific command about the product to uninstall? I found only login settings. Run the tool from the command line with the parameter: kavremvr.exe --password-for-uninstall:%PASSWORD% --MSIPARAM:KLLOGIN=%login%, where: %login% stands for the user name for the product) %password% stands for the password for the product
  17. Hello @libove, Thank you for replying and the additional information👏 Kaspersky Security Cloud Free has more configurable options than older versions of free Kaspersky AV software. Version App main window Notifications options If the Quick Scan completed notification is popping on the Desktop, image 4, in Windows Notification Centre, image 5, uncheck Show notification banners for Kaspersky Security Cloud, image 6, see video at the end of my reply to show how the alerts change when the options are checked or unchecked; you may also wish to uncheck uncheck Show notifications in the action centre (for Kaspersky Security Cloud), image 6 again, however, suppressing all notifications can be unwise.     Hello IrvZaritsky, Welcome! Is KIS configured to "launch" at computer startup? To confirm KIS is active (without you manually selecting KIS application), please reboot, after logging in, don't select KIS application at all, start Taskmanager, check KIS application status? --- Please also tell us: (1) Operating system full name x home/pro/beta? version? build? release? What Version of Windows Do I Have? (2) KIS (free or licensed? - see below for this question), version? patch(x)? x= letter How to find the version of your Kaspersky Lab product (3) Please post an image of the KIS dialogue box? Thanks so much. Kaspersky free has limitations, if we know the software in use we are able to provide more accurate analysis, information and solutions.
  22. ello @releone, I must say, your English is much better than my Italian😉 , allow me to reply in English please - the fan on my laptop is dying, I'm doing all my work in 15 minute bursts. ➡ You have version 20.0.14.1085, bravo👏 How to find Kaspersky software name, version & patch, there’s several methods: [a] Open KIS, select 🎧Headset🎧 bottom left hand corner of application = Support window, shows: Operating system name, version & build, Database release date & time, KIS version & patch(x). [b] Windows Taskbar, hover 🐀mouse🐀over the Kaspersky shield, a tiny popup window displays: Kaspersky software name, version, patch(x), Databases release date & time. [c] Windows Taskbar, right click Kaspersky shield, select About, popup window shows Kaspersky software name, version & patch(x). [d] To revert to red & black shield, open [c] About window, on the ⌨ keyboard⌨ type keys: IDDQD Reboot the computer to apply the change. [e] USB scan, Esamina solo la root. Scan root folder only. This is entirely personal choice, it also depends on the backup size, time to run the scan, and if you're confident the contents of the drive (other than root) are completely clean. I've lost count of the times people I've helped say: "I lent my USB to a friend, he/she gave it back, now my computer is full of ransomware, malware, etc., etc.” (imo), if you do not know how “healthy” the contents of the USB are, first, always, do a Full scan, once you are 100% confident, any followup scans can be selecetd according to your requirements. Another ‘tip”, in all Kaspersky software applications, every window has a ❔ in the top right hand corner of the screen, (see image above ❔ circled red), selecting any ❔ will open a browser to a Kaspersky "Help" document, specific to the application screen.     Time schedule not working

    Thank you for your quick reply. I was not expecting an answer so quickly so I’ve tried this: disassociated the windows account with KSK, and re-associated it (fortunately, previous settings were saved and I did not needed to re-configure everything). And it seems to work again. But something was clearly “broken”. Time schedule & limits were not working properly, but were working till now. Next, internet filter had also stopped working (it was not detecting my son account anymore and was no more reporting visited websites). I will check if this happen again and will update this post if needed. Thank you!
