  1. Hello @SAJFLADD,

    Welcome back!

    1. When “KPM won’t open in Windows 10 Standard Account” are there any errors?
    2. May we have images please?
    3. Have you uninstalled KPM, including a full Shutdown of the device; independent of KTS and clean installed KPM? If “no”, make sure you ⚠backup KPM before doing so⚠

    Please let us know?

    Thank you🙏

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

So,  I’ve uninstalled password manager (PM).

    Rebooted.

Selected PM from the GUI. Was presented with an install link – clicked and installed – no error messages.

Installation completed – program appears in control panel > programs and features, and a shortcut is placed on the desktop.

Then, clicking on either that desktop shortcut or Kaspersky PM in the start menu, does nothing, the program just won’t start/open.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  2. I was using KTS20, and the password manager (PM) wouldn’t open. Today, I uninstalled KTS20, rebooted and installed KTS21 along with PM. The PM now opens in Windows 10 Home Admin Account and works perfectly (as far as I can tell). However, it still won’t open in Windows 10 Standard Account.

So, before getting into all the GSI stuff, is there something I’m not doing or need to be doing to get it to open in the std account?

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for your elucidation.

As I have major problems with Safe Money under (Chromium) EDGE and Internet Explorer, to my regret had to decide to install Google Chrome on my Win10 PC as well.
Now Safe Money works normal, but I sincerly hope that shortly I can use Safe Money under Chromium EDGE, and that I can remove Google Chrome again from my PC.

    Regards, JW

    Hi JW-C5

I’ve been using Google Chrome for some time now and don’t seem to have had any problem with it, so I’m concerned to see that someone “regrettably” installed it. I have nothing to do with Google, but am wondering why it is that you don’t like it - have you noted security issues with it? This post may be removed because it’s not specifically related to kaspersky, but I would be interested to know.

    Cheers

    Welcome back!

Patch J was released on the 6/4/2020, Edge Chromium support is available in patch J not I.

    Thank you🙏

    Hi😀

This is an interesting issue, that kaspersky may want to rectify.

What had happened was that I had patch (i). Today, KTS updater ran and downloaded approx 13MB of update. Not knowing anything about the kasp protection extension coming out in patch (j) (as you’ve noted above), I just opened chromium edge and to my surprise, saw the protection extension was there but greyed out. Therefore, I posted my question. Since then, however, I rebooted my PC and now find that the extension is functional/green; so success.

The point is, therefore, that had I not rebooted my PC (which was for an unrelated reason), the extension would have remained non-functional - note that not every KTS user may be bothered to try to get it functional, so may not search for how to get it working such as by rebooting (which in my case was an unrelated fluke). Therefore, a simple solution would be for the update to show a button that requires a restart.

    Cheers.

  5. @SAJFLADD Did you try to uninstall / reinstall CCleaner ?

NO, but that’s not the point, is it? The point is that the updater is not ‘checking’ correctly, as it apparently is supposed to do.

As nexon has stated: There is a problem with checking really checking last version of programs….
Kaspersky must enhance this or remove this update feature.
    Exactly!!

  6. Using Windows 10 Home (vs 1909) and KTS 20.0.14.1085(i), over the last year, I periodically get a notification from KTS software updater that a new version of CCleaner is available (going from vs 5.62 > 5.63.0), as shown in screenshot 1.

However, I already have vs 5.63… installed, as shown in screenshot 2, which I’ve confirmed as being the current version from CCleaner.

So what’s going on? Why does KTS think that I’ve got vs 5.62 installed?

    Thanks

  7. Hi, Using Windows 10 Home (vs 1903) and KTS20...(c), I have a standard account and an administrator account. In the Admin account, kaspersky protection extension in Google Chrome is green when using safe money and when not using safe money. However, in the standard account, kaspersky protection extension in Google Chrome is green when not using safe money but is greyed out when using safe money. So, any ideas why it's staying grey? The odd thing is that it was all working perfectly until I had to remove KTS today (because of a possible broadband issue, which is now resolved, unrelated to KTS), and now I've 'clean' reinstalled it, I have this issue. Thanks. S
  8. Hi, As per the title, using Windows 10 Home (vs 1903) and KTS20...(c), I have a standard account and an administrator account. In the Admin account, kaspersky protection extension is green when using safe money and when not using safe money. However, in the standard account, kaspersky protection icon is green when not using safe money but is greyed out when using safe money. Any ideas what's going on? The odd thing is that it was all working perfectly until I had to remove KTS today (because of a possible broadband issue, which is now resolved, unrelated to KTS), and now I've 'clean' reinstalled it, I have this issue. 9. Ok so what is the error you get or message you get?
As stated, i had to remove kts completely to upgrade successfully. The first attempt failure gave no error code, simply saying upgrade failed. The second failed attempt gave a Windows error code, you know the type, e.g. 0x..... which never seems to have any meaning. The third attempt was successful after removing kts. So, rather than mess about trying to find the cause of a failure, just uninstall kts and reinstall it once done. That doesn't help kasp labs determine the cause of failed attempts of course but that's another story. S
  10. Ok so what games do you have that use battleye or anything like that? The crew 2 has an anti cheat engine it. Its simple, remove the games that has these anti cheats, and then upgrade, then reinstall them. Thats how I ended up having to do it.
That may be the way you had to do it but games certainly had nothing to do with the problem i had, because I had nothing to do with games on my system; so it was something else causing my problem.
  11. Clear check box Search for software that is intended to conceal traces of a malicious program in the system (rootkits) https://help.kaspersky.com/KTS/2020/en-US/68153.htmIn Seting - Scan section, set up a schedule Quick Scan https://help.kaspersky.com/KTS/2020/en-US/68154.htm
Are you suggesting that a quick scan contains features of the rootkit scan? If so, what's the point of having a separate rootkit scan, we may as well just have a full scan and quick scan? S
  12. Thanks for the heads-up on this. KTS19(e) stopped my installation of Win 10 1903 as well! How do I know? At first attempt, the process failed. Therefore, i wondered whether kts self defense was the culprit, so unchecked self defense and disabled kts, but failed on that second attempt. Therefore, after reading your post, I uninstalled kts and you've guessed it, installed no problem. Therefore, looks like kts causes problems for some installations. S
