I replaced recently Kaspersky Internet Security with Kaspersky Plus. So, Kaspersky Plus was installed O.K., but Internet Security hasn't been removed in total. There is still a grey icon of Internet Security (which is disabled) in the menu bar of Windows 10 (ver. 22H2). Also in the Program Files there is still a folder of Internet Security. Thus, pls advice if I must remove in total Internet Security by using the tool Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel of my Windows.

Hey i had this problem when i uninstalled kaspersky Premium and the Kaspersky VPN at the same time. i installed both by the inclusion of Kaspersky premium option to install the VPN. Once the install was complete they were both running, Kaspersky premium setup walk through was going and would not accept my account email link or even my generated activated codes giving the same errors despite me being in my country in the same place i bought it on the same internet provider. After many failed attempts i noticed the VPN was installed and was running in my system tray notification area but was not connected to a server. I simply connected to my local country and the activation worked. I was already in my local country lol but the vpn not connected prevented their system from allowing my activation code to work. I hope this helps 🫡 I'm sure i've had this error years ago too, probably an oversight in QA. So yeah try a free vpn server from kaspersky, a new vpn or a new internet connection like a mobile hotspot or something and connect to your local country. It worked for me 👍

It's windows 10, with brave. Brave has no restrictions, just the file manager. So I'm asking if there is any file type exception rules somewhere? To not allow any network traffic from the file manager, except for .url files. And preferrably only if executed by the current user, not by the system or trusted installer or any other user. If I first open brave then use the file manager to run a shortcut file it works fine. But if it's inheriting the file manager restriction, even though brave is running it should be blocked. Something isn't right about that. Yes, so I'm asking for an allowance of .url file types only from the file manager, to not inherit the restrictions for that file type only. ? That's not a bad idea. I could watch wireshark when updating an app then copy over those credentials. But doing that for all my apps, it's probably less work to just manually allow them every update time. I wouldn't have to do this if Kaspersky would just block apps when I'm not using them and auto allow them when I am. Why does no one do this? It's seems like basic common sense. To not let apps run roughshod over my computer in the background, when I'm not using them at the time.

@MightierPen The description is not very clear, but I'll try to guess. If network access for the file manager is blocked and the shortcut is launched from it, then the browser inherits the restrictions from the program that launched it. In this case, it's the file manager. So network access will be blocked. If you first open the browser via Explorer, and then your site via the shortcut, there is no inheritance, because the parent process of the browser is Explorer and network access will be allowed. If you know the addresses where the app checks and downloads updates, you can configure permissions for these addresses. But this can lead to errors and is technically difficult, or even unreal in some cases.

J'ai reinstallé simplement PASSWORD MANAGER sur la nouvelle installation qui elle -meme avait été installée sur l'ancienne ( comme indiqué par les conseils d'installation ) contrairement à l'habitude ou il était recommandé de tout desinstaller ... Ce probleme avec PASSWORD MANAGER existait sur l'ancienne installation depuis qq temps déjà et s'est transféré à la nouvelle installation ... En reinstallant simplement PASSWORD MANAGER , a la fin il m'a été indique que la MISE A JOUR était faite.... Le problème a disparu ! MERCI KASVIRUS

Я ответила на это письмо так: «Добрый день! Хорошо, спасибо. Только со вчерашнего дня (где-то с часов 11 утра) доступ к YouTube у меня пропал уже и на российском сервере. Ничего не грузится, как и на остальных серверах. И судя по предыдущим ответам поддержки, проблему с YouTube, кажется, решить невозможно». Не знаю, решится ли по итогу проблема с учётом того, что её до последнего характеризовали как независящую от разработчиков, но я подумала, что стоит написать об этом в обсуждении.

Welcome to Kaspersky Community. Did You apply the network blocking to both explorer.exe if You are in W11? Also, I guess the problem here is how Windows works, where are located the URL shortcut files? Given that the moment you double-click on a URL shortcut to open it, you are already using Explorer.exe, K. will apply the blocking rule 🤷‍♂️
