Dear @JL - KL DACH Hi, Thank you so much for your help. As a matter of fact, I am looking for "removing the expired license" from client. I think I have to do it on client's device directly or even I can run the command via KSC (maybe). The issue is that once a client retrieves new license form the KSC server, the old one still remains on the client and device status remains "license expired". No, I still haven't found anything about this issue. I tried updating the driver and uninstalling and reinstalling the application but it didn't work. It only fixes itself when I close the application. My graphics card is 5070. If you find something, please tell me.

I have been using kaspersky antivirus since 2005, up until this year (2025). This year i bought kaspersky standard, as there is no longer the AV version available. Tonight, by chancem i had no idea, i noticed my fans in my PC were a bit loud and i was thinking why. Then i have noticed a 30% load on my GPU and i see Kaspersky Standard up there and idk why is this happening. Because with KAV (kaspersky antivirus) all these years it was ok and now with KS (kaspersky standard) i see this load on the GPU. Actually Kaspersky Standard uses 17-20% and Desktop Window Manager 10%. What's even more interesting, is that, with the protection off, the usage remains the same 🙂 It is only after i Exit the KS entirely, the GPU load drops to 0-2%, this % is how i know my GPU was on Idle. GPU - Asus TUF 4080 Super CPU - Ryzen9 7900 DDR - 32GB Something is wrong in how the KS is working as opposed to the older KAV. Now i'm thinking to buy whatever KAV i can find on the market, even tho' i just recently bought a 1y for 5 PC license. I attached a screenshot to compare KS ON vs KS Exit (program closed entirely.)

I created a new Chrome profile for the user then deleted the old one (it has to be done in this order) transferring over only the bookmarks via export and import. This seems to have cleared up the problem (fingers crossed). BTW- It seems that "site notifications" are a new web feature (or at least new to me). These pop up in the system notification area, outside the browser window, and can persist even after the browser is exited. It was this "improvement" that confused me into thinking these were OS notifications.

As far as I can tell this malware works by overriding the meaning of the "New Tab" address in chrome (chrome://newtab), replacing the real editable start page with a fake (non editable) copy of the default start page. I found a useful comment on Reddit- Found a solution to the chrome://newtab yahoo/bing/etc search hijacker : r/chrome Unfortunately it seems to spray bad links all over the users profile (mostly directed via Yahoo) so a profile reset or a clean reinstall of Chrome may be the only options.

Also, do a Chrome config reset, also check in Your Windows -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features, if there is a suspicious app installed.

Yes that does seem to be the case. They do quite a good job of mimicing OS notifications. I originally thought that the popups were independent of the browser, however I was mistaken. This user uses Google Chrome as their default browser. A couple of days ago they noticed that their Chrome home page had changed from their personal set of preferred links to a generic set of home links (YouTube, Netflix etc.). I have checked and they have no Chrome extensions installed, so it seems this home page has been hacked or overridden and this is where the popups are being triggered. Kinda worrying that the Chrome config can be changed in this way without the user realising. Any hints on cleaning up the start page would be welcome. Worst case I can remove and reinstall Chrome, but i'm rather concerned if the same thing could happen again on a "driveby" basis, i.e. if this can happen just because the user visits the wrong web site.
