snoop Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Tried System restore to back 2 days ago, since i had an app bug out and i thought might as well do a restore so registry is all deleted too, but on boot up this shows, should i check for updates in kaspersky app? how to let the AV know to restore that corrupted file? would it lower the capability of AV? should i uninstall and reinstall kaspersky? so everything working properly? although system restore did its job, it removed the app but did it corrupt kaspersky? Thanks!
nexon Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Hi, Yes it is known.. I had issues with this. 1. First disable protection of Kaspersky and disable self defense (this works for me) then restore your pc from restore point. 2. Tech support should know about this (probably traces will be needed) 1
garioch7 Posted September 17 Posted September 17 I always boot into Safe Mode when I occasionally want to restore a System Restore Point. Safe Mode loads minimal drivers and OS files, so there is less to interfere with the restore process. The issue with AV products, not just Kaspersky, causing errors when trying to restore a System Restore Point is well documented, so well in fact, that the Windows error message mentions that as the most likely suspect when a "restore" fails.
